After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects
Chapter 80: Destroying the Yang Family
Listening to Bai Yanfei’s taunts, Yang Kai couldn't hold in his anger anymore and unleashed a barrage of blazing infernos with no regard for saving energy.
The area was completely covered in blazing fire with nothing else in sight. The heat was extreme, as even the people behind Yang Kai could feel the temperature from a distance.
Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue now struggled to keep themselves from getting injured, as the attacks were too many and the flames completely surrounded them both.
After many close calls, and a few minor burns the fire finally dispersed as Yang Kai stopped sending any more attacks.
As the flames parted, Yang Kai appeared behind them with a face drenched in sweat, completely red from the strain. He had finally run out of energy and could barely keep himself in the air.
Seeing that both women were still fine, Yang Kai couldn't believe none of his attacks had worked. Now without energy to spare, he couldn't continue the assault himself.
Though reluctant to take back his earlier words of facing both women alone, Yang Kai gave in and turned toward the members of his family who were behind him.
"Hurry and help me kill these two women!" Yang Kai yelled. "I want them dead immediately!"
The people behind Yang Kai felt slightly hesitant, as the family head had just given conflicting orders, but in the end they decided to help.
When the group tried moving forward, an invisible force stopped them freezing them in place.
Jiang Yun had held them back to keep the fight fair and balanced. His intention was to let the battle remain between the two women and Yang Kai without outside distractions.
The group failing to follow his orders made Yang Kai even angrier, as he had clearly told them to help. Just as he wanted to lash out at his family members, he noticed something was wrong.
The Yang family members behind him were completely motionless. They hadn't moved at all for a long time, which was very strange.
"What have you done?" Yang Kai shouted, turning his attention back to Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei.
"We didn't do anything," Bai Yanfei replied. "Now, are you ready to continue where we left off?"
Unable to understand what was causing the rest of the Yang family to freeze in place, Yang Kai decided to handle the situation himself since no help was coming.
With his exhausted body, Yang Kai tried to press the attack, pushing out his last bit of energy to create a much smaller flame than before.
The attack was so weak that Bai Yue casually cut it in half, and it dissipated into the wind.
Yang Kai now had no energy left and started slowly dropping from the sky, unable to stay afloat. He was frantic as his attack failed and all his options ran out.
Trying to fly away despite being unable to keep himself in the air, Yang Kai was easily intercepted by Bai Yue, who blocked his path.
"Do you dare kill me?" Yang Kai threatened. "I'm following the orders of an Immortal Emperor. If you kill me, he won't let you go!"
Yang Kai was grasping at straws, as he couldn't save himself anymore. He knew the Immortal Emperor that had gave him the task didn't care about him at all, as the relationship was purely transactional, but he had no other choice.
Waiting for a response, Yang Kai felt unending regret over accepting the Immortal Emperor’s offer. If he hadn't done so, he could've survived and kept his family's power intact.
Now his fate as well as the rest of Yang family rested in the hands of a young woman, which wounded his pride. Being destroyed by a powerful cultivator was at least honorable, but dying like this was simply humiliating.
"I don't care," Bai Yue responded. "If that Immortal Emperor dares to come, then we'll kill him too."
With that said, Bai Yue raised her sword to strike Yang Kai down. Yang Kai lost all hope, as there was nothing left to preserve his life. By the time the sword came down on him, Yang Kai had already accepted his fate.
With a single strike, Yang Kai was cut in half and died instantly. His remains crashed to the ground below, turning into a bloody mess.
Now the only people left were the rest of the Yang family, who were still frozen to the side. The members who had escaped Jiang Yun before felt deep regret, as they had gotten away once only to end up right back in the same situation.
Jiang Yun kept the group frozen, intending to let Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei rest for a while before they continued wiping out the Yang family.
"Was it really that easy?" Bai Yanfei asked, still surprised by how simple it was to kill Yang Kai.
"What's wrong with killing him like this?" Bai Yue asked, seeing nothing unusual.
"This is a powerful Immortal King we're talking about. He terrorized the Bai family for years, yet we managed to kill him so quickly."
"With Jiang Yun around, did you really think things would turn out any differently?"
Bai Yanfei couldn't argue with her daughter’s words, as it was true. She then turned to the rest of the Yang family, who remained frozen in place.
"What should we do with them?" Bai Yanfei asked her daughter.
"Let's kill them once we've rested for a bit," Bai Yue replied.
The Yang family members felt death looming over them. Being frozen in place with no way to escape only fueled their terror.
They knew they wouldn't survive the day, as even their family head, an Immortal King, had died by these women's hands, and the rest of them were nowhere near that level of power.
Waiting for their fate to arrive, every moment was agonizing for the Yang family members, knowing these were their final moments alive.
Once Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei had properly rested, Jiang Yun released the Yang family members to let them fight.
The moment they were freed, some of the captives tried running away, but they were instantly frozen again to cut off their escape. Realizing there was no way out, they turned back and took on the challenge head on.
The Yang family members rushed toward Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei, grasping for even the slimmest chance at survival.
The two women casually cut down anyone who came at them, as the cultivation realms of the remaining Yang family were far too low without their family head.
Slashing down the last few cultivators who tried to intercept them, Bai Yanfei felt refreshed, as over a decade's worth of grudges had been settled in a single day.
Not wanting the momentum to fade, Bai Yanfei took Bai Yue into the Yang family territory to eliminate whoever remained and claim everything they owned as compensation.
A systematic purge was carried out across the Yang family to prevent future threats from growing. This family hadn't shown any mercy for Bai Yue when she was an infant, so no mercy was shown in return to this wicked clan.
Once no Yang family members remained, Bai Yanfei began looting their treasury, gathering countless cultivation resources and mountains of spirit stones.
"The Yang family is quite wealthy," Bai Yanfei commented as she stored everything in her storage ring.
Bai Yue didn't think much of it, as she was already used to such wealth after staying by Jiang Yun's side for so long without ever lacking resources. Still, she helped her mother collect whatever was valuable.
It took quite a while, as the Yang family’s fortune was large and filled with treasures. Once everything was looted, the Yang family territory was left as nothing more than a desolate, empty shell.
Thoroughly satisfied with the haul, Bai Yanfei felt she wouldn't need to look for cultivation resources for a very long time.
Combined with cultivating at the Invincible Cloud Sect, which was rich in immortal energy, there would be no shortage of supplies anytime soon.
Beaming from all the rewards, Bai Yanfei happily flew back to Jiang Yun with Bai Yue by her side.
Once the three regrouped, it was time to decide where to go next, as the Yang family had been wiped out completely.
"Where should we go now?" Bai Yue asked, unfamiliar with the surrounding region.
"Next, we'll head to the Murong family," Bai Yanfei answered. "They're the closest clan to our current location, so they make the perfect target."
"Should we do the same thing once we get there?"
"Let's do that. The approach was very effective this time, and we cleared out the Yang family so quickly. If we keep this pace, I believe we can finish off the Chu family before the day ends."
"Then let's go."
Bai Yanfei nodded, ready to move toward their next destination.
The three then left, leaving the ruined Yang family territory behind as they flew toward the Murong family.
