After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects
Chapter 71: Gu Biyao Reunites with Qiu Tao
It didn’t take long before Jiang Yun brought Gu Biyao to the Invincible Cloud sect. Upon arriving, Gu Biyao started looking around, as the surroundings were very secluded and peaceful.
"Wow, what a quiet place," Gu Biyao said while looking around. "This place is amazing if you don’t want to be bothered."
"It’s why I chose it," Jiang Yun explained while leading the way.
After a leisurely stroll, the two arrived at the main hall. Showing the same courtesy, Jiang Yun offered Gu Biyao a place to sit. Once seated, Jiang Yun left to go find Qiu Tao to come meet her mother.
While Jiang Yun was still away, Gu Biyao continued to look around, observing the place her daughter had been staying at. The place didn’t have much and wasn’t particularly big, but it was very cozy.
After a short wait, footsteps could be heard hurriedly coming in Gu Biyao’s direction. When the steps came closer, Qiu Tao appeared, happily running toward her mother.
"What are you doing here, Mom?" Qiu Tao said as she came in for a hug. "It hasn’t been that long since I left."
"I missed you," Gu Biyao responded as she returned the hug. "Is it bad for a mother to miss her daughter after all this time we’ve been apart?"
Qiu Tao shook her head as she enjoyed being in the presence of her mother.
While the two were enjoying their time together, Jiang Yun had followed close behind and came into view.
"So, what do you think about her progress?" Jiang Yun said calmly, trying not to disturb the reunion of mother and daughter. "Her realm is as I had said."
After getting her fill of her daughter’s embrace, Gu Biyao looked closely at Qiu Tao, as she couldn’t believe what Jiang Yun had said before about her being a peak True Immortal.
Looking closely, the oppressive presence Qiu Tao gave off really did show she was a peak True Immortal, and there was nothing unstable about her realm despite her rapid progress.
"How did you do it?" Gu Biyao said in amazement. "This is simply an unfathomable amount of growth."
"Don’t you feel the Immortal energy around you?" Jiang Yun asked, puzzled. "You should feel how incredibly dense the Immortal energy is here."
Gu Biyao was too focused on her daughter to notice, but the moment Jiang Yun told her, she immediately felt how dense the Immortal energy was. This place had the densest Immortal energy she had ever felt.
"No wonder," Gu Biyao said in amazement as she looked around her surroundings more closely. " It would be strange not to progress in this place."
"Why don’t you stay here and cultivate too, Mom?" Qiu Tao asked in anticipation.
"I suppose I could. There isn’t much to do at home anyway," Gu Biyao assured her daughter.
Qiu Tao immediately started to pull her mother away, wanting to show her room and continue talking.
When the two exited the room, Jiang Yun stayed behind, not wanting to get in their way.
Jiang Yun went to find something to do as he was all alone once again.
After a couple more days of debating, Jiang Yun decided to learn weapon crafting, considering all of his disciples other than Hua Jing had a weapon. This wouldn’t do, as they will do their own in the future.
Jiang Yun doesn’t usually keep weapons as he no longer needs them. Weapon crafting materials never mattered, so there was nothing in his storage ring that could be used for crafting.
Since Jiang Yun needed materials, he spread his awareness to search for an ore deposit around the sect area. Finding one quite a distance away, Jiang Yun stepped forward and teleported to the area he found.
The next moment, Jiang Yun was surrounded by a dense forest, with plenty of natural sounds all around. Reaching his destination, Jiang Yun searched for the exact location of the minerals.
It didn’t take long before Jiang Yun found where the ore deposit was. Reaching out his hand, Jiang Yun created a giant essence hand and grabbed deep into the ground.
What was grabbed was a giant, hill-sized amount of Immortal ore that had been ripped from deep in the ground. In the process, the ground was left with a giant hole that looked impossibly deep.
With the amount of Immortal ore he now had, Jiang Yun felt it should be enough for the time being. Storing the ore in his ring, Jiang Yun went back to the Invincible Cloud sect.
Now, with everyone busy cultivating, Jiang Yun could completely focus on weapon crafting.
Since Jiang Yun had experience with array formations, weapon crafting came much easier to him, as the two crafts were very closely related. It didn’t take long before Jiang Yun created his first weapon at the Nascent Soul level, which was a simple blade.
Not satisfied, Jiang Yun continued to craft weapons, intending to make treasures for his disciples who lacked fine weapons.
Time continued to pass as another half a year passed with Jiang Yun still being alone, trying to craft weapons. At this point, Jiang Yun managed to craft True Immortal weapons, and he was somewhat satisfied by the finished product.
With this achievement, Jiang Yun felt that it was time to take a break after so long trying to craft weapons. Resting and looking out at the sun and the open sky, Jiang Yun felt that his life was quite comfortable now.
Unfortunately, his rest didn’t last long as Jiang Yun felt trouble was occurring at the lower realm Invincible Cloud sect. Someone attacked the defensive array with a force that is infinitely close to that of a Loose Immortal.
Wondering what was happening, Jiang Yun entered the descension array and went down to the lower world.
Soon after arriving at the lower realm, Jiang Yun felt several Half-step Mahayana realm cultivators around the sect, seemingly hostile.
Jiang Yun was somewhat bewildered that there were so many Half-step Mahayana realm cultivators still alive despite purging so many already.
Curious about what was happening, Jiang Yun teleported to the entrance of the sect where most of the invaders were. The moment after arriving, Jiang Yun could see several cultivators unleashing heavy attacks at the sect’s defensive array.
The two beasts who were guarding the entrance were doing what they could to attack these invaders while being inside the array, as there were simply too many of them outside.
Upon closer inspection, Jiang Yun noticed that these cultivators were not from the cultivation world. These people simply had far too different appearances, with their delicate faces and smooth skin compared to people of this world.
From their appearances, Jiang Yun could guess that these people were from Earth. This didn’t make much sense to Jiang Yun, as Earth was quite the distance away from here.
The other question was how these people from a Qi-barren Earth managed to get so strong that they were Half-Immortals. Considering how devoid of scars these people were, they haven’t been in the cultivation world for very long.
With all these clues, Jiang Yun decided to investigate further about what these people were doing and why they were here.
Looking closer and using his Dao energy, Jiang Yun saw that all of these people had blue windows in front of them. These windows couldn’t be seen unless you were at least at the Beginning Dao realm or the person using the window.
It seems these people had systems, just like the one Jiang Yun created a very long time ago. The only difference was that these systems looked much more solid and had significantly more effort put into them.
This confused Jiang Yun even more, as he never made more than one system, so these definitely weren’t the ones he made.
Wanting to get a true answer to his questions, Jiang Yun went to confront the group of invaders.
"Who are all of you?" Jiang Yun asked. "Why are you trying to destroy my sect?"
"It doesn’t matter who we are. Just open your defensive array and obediently let us in," a blonde-haired man said. "If you don’t, once we break in, we won’t be very merciful in what we are about to do."
The others behind him agreed as they continued to hurl attacks at the defensive array.
Observing the defiant looks on the invaders' faces, Jiang Yun knew they wouldn’t answer obediently. Spreading out his presence, Jiang Yun wanted to use a show of force to force them to obey.
All the cultivators around the Invincible Cloud sect felt a strong pushing force above them. Without being able to resist, they all started dropping to the ground, lying flat as they couldn’t move anymore.
Continuing to struggle, the cultivators didn’t believe that with their current power, they couldn’t break free from the current situation.
After a long time of struggling, the first one to give up was the blonde man who spoke first.
"What have you done?" the blonde man scowled at Jiang Yun. "What do you want to do by trapping us all here on the ground?"
"Are you ready to answer my questions?" Jiang Yun looked down on the blonde man. "If not, then you can just die."
