After a Flash Marriage With a Billionaire, My Brothers Are Begging for My Forgiveness!
Chapter 264: Countdown to Identity Reveal
Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Countdown to Identity Reveal
Netizens weren’t buying Ophelia Warren’s response.
She had used such a despicable, underhanded method to harm Sienna Everett behind her back, and now she was lying, making excuses, and refusing to admit it. This was a stark contrast to the gentle and kind "fairy" persona Ophelia Warren had always projected.
Overnight, Ophelia Warren’s "fairy" persona completely crumbled.
By extension, Miles Everett, who had spoken up for Ophelia Warren, also faced a fierce backlash from the public online.
Many people had respected Miles Everett for his status as a Restorer, but now they were starting to lose their patience with him.
#OpheliaWarrenLiesExposed, #OpheliaWarrenPersonaCollapse, and #MilesAndOpheliaGetOut were soon trending online.
In the hospital room.
Keith Sterling sat in a chair, glued to his phone as he followed the drama online.
When he saw Miles Everett defending Ophelia Warren, he let out a cold sneer. "The Everetts really are all terrible! I can’t stand that Miles Everett! Sierra, you..."
Keith Sterling looked at Sienna Everett, his heart aching for her. ’I can’t even imagine what her life was like during those two years with the Everett family.’
Sienna Everett was completely unfazed by Miles Everett defending Ophelia Warren. "Let him. He won’t be able to defend her for much longer."
Keith Sterling’s eyes lit up. "Sierra, what are you planning? Are you going to make a move? Count me in!"
The corners of Sienna Everett’s eyes crinkled. "It’s a secret for now."
Keith’s curiosity was piqued, scratching at him like a kitten’s paw. He glanced at Julian Forrester, then seemed to remember something. He leaned in and whispered, "Bro, I have something I want to ask you~ Can you come outside with me for a sec~"
Julian Forrester’s eyes were glued to Sienna Everett. Without even glancing at Keith, he said flatly, "Ask me here."
Keith Sterling: "..."
’Bro, at least give me a glance!’
Keith Sterling shot a pitiful glance at Sienna Everett. ’How can I ask in front of Sierra?’ His face was a mask of pleading. "Bro, it’ll just take a second!"
Seeing his expression, Sienna grew more suspicious. She slowly crossed her arms. "Outside? You clearly want to get away from me... What do you want to ask your brother behind my back?"
Keith immediately waved his hands. "No, no! I’m not trying to avoid you! It’s just one tiny question, I swear!"
Sienna Everett wasn’t one to pester. She nodded. "Alright, go on out and talk then. Take your time."
Julian Forrester didn’t want to hide anything from Sienna Everett; there was nothing she couldn’t know.
But from the look on Keith’s face, he had a pretty good idea what he wanted to ask. With a slight raise of his eyebrow, he got up and walked out of the room.
Keith Sterling hurried after him.
「In the hallway.」
The two stood by a window, where a couple of potted plants rested on the sill.
Keith couldn’t wait any longer and whispered, "Bro, what’s the deal with you and Sierra now? I feel like her attitude toward you is... different!"
Julian Forrester’s gaze rested on one of the potted plants. Hearing the question, he looked up at Keith, his tone full of knowing certainty. "I knew you were going to ask that."
"As expected of my dear brother, you know me so well!" Keith raised a roguish eyebrow, a wide, meaningful grin spreading across his face. "So, what’s the deal with you and Sierra? I have a feeling you’re in a particularly good mood today! Hold on, let your favorite little brother here take a guess!"
’Favorite little brother?’
The tip of Julian’s eyebrow rose imperceptibly, but he didn’t deny it.
Keith stroked his chin, his eyes darting around in thought before he suddenly blurted out excitedly, "Bro, you said you confessed to Sierra before, and she said she’d think about it. So today... you’re in such a good mood, and Sierra is acting so close to you... She must have accepted your confession! Am I right? Am I right?!"
Keith was like a broken record, repeating the question. If a flower were sprouting from his head, it would have just burst into a vibrant, spirited bloom.
"Bro, tell me, am I right? I have to be right!"
Under Keith’s fervent, expectant gaze, Julian finally nodded.
Keith nearly jumped for joy. He excitedly circled his brother several times, only stopping when a dizzy Julian reached out and held him still.
"That’s awesome, bro! It’s finally official! Now when I call Sierra ’sis,’ she’ll really be my sister-in-law!!"
A gentle softness rippled through Julian’s eyes. ’Yes, it’s official now.’
...
「Back in the hospital room.」
Sienna Everett was sitting in her chair, replying to concerned messages from Isabelle Sutton, Orion Hawthorne, and others. They had all reached out after hearing that Ophelia Warren had tried to harm her.
Nearly twenty minutes passed before Julian Forrester and Keith Sterling came back inside.
Whatever question Keith had asked, he was now chattering and gesturing wildly around Julian, his face flushed with excitement.
"Easy there. Your brother is delicate and weak right now," Sienna admonished without thinking.
Julian Forrester: "?"
Keith Sterling: "???"
’Delicate and weak?’
Keith almost snorted with laughter. He never thought he’d see the day his brother was described as "delicate and weak." He had to suppress his laughter so hard it felt like he was going to give himself an internal injury.
Realizing what she’d just said, Sienna blinked rapidly and changed the subject. "So, what were you two talking about out there?"
Keith played along. "Oh, nothing much. Just casually chatting~~"
Julian, however, beckoned to her. "Come give me a hand."
Hearing that, Sienna tossed her phone aside and immediately trotted over to support him. "What’s wrong?"
Keith grew tense as well.
Leaning on her, Julian said, "Just a little tired."
Sienna Everett: "Was it because you were standing outside for too long?"
The man arched an eyebrow and said languidly, "Yes. After all, I’m so delicate and weak."
Sienna Everett: "..."
Keith Sterling: "..."
Despite being so "delicate and weak," a few days later, Julian’s body had mostly recovered. He was well enough to be discharged from the hospital, though he still suffered from occasional headaches every day.
After a diagnosis, the doctors decided to prescribe medication to manage the symptoms for the time being.
Sienna felt a pang of anxiety, hoping his headaches could be cured quickly.
Headaches, after all, could be absolute torture.
After they returned to Veridian Gardens, the old man visited Julian almost every day. He was finally able to rest easy seeing Julian’s color gradually return.
「That afternoon, in the study.」
Sienna Everett sat on the sofa by the window, looking over the headache medications Julian needed to take. Every so often, she would glance at him sitting behind his desk, handling work.
"It’s time for your medicine," Sienna said, noticing the time.
Just as she spoke, her phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from Manager Jennings at the auction house.
"Miss Everett, Miles Everett is back at the auction house. He says he wants to meet Winchester!"
