Chapter 206: This Is All He Owes Sienna
Chapter 206: Chapter 206: This Is All He Owes Sienna
Sienna Everett felt it was best to get the DNA test over with as soon as possible, so she wouldn’t have it weighing on her mind.
Ian Prescott’s lips curved into a smile. He really liked Sienna Everett’s straightforward attitude.
However, Ian Prescott said, "Let’s do it tomorrow. My older brother is bringing blood samples from both my father and mother. Is tomorrow okay?"
"That’s fine. Delaying by a day is no big deal. But... you’re bringing samples from both your parents?" Sienna Everett found that strange.
’Wouldn’t a sample from just one of them be enough?’
’Why bring both?’
Ian Prescott touched his forehead, a bit embarrassed to explain. "After my parents found out about you, they were both clamoring to use their own blood for the DNA test with you. They each wanted to be the first to confirm their relationship with their daughter. The two of them almost got into a fight over it. In the end, my older brother made the final call and decided to just bring samples from both of them."
Sienna Everett: "..."
’Wow... they both want to be the first to confirm the relationship with their daughter.’
’The Prescott parents really are young at heart.’
Ian Prescott sighed softly. "My parents have been dying to come see you in person, but I was worried their enthusiasm might scare you."
Sienna Everett: "?"
’Too enthusiastic?’
’Scare me?’
Ian Prescott explained with a smile, "For all these years, not a single day has passed that my parents haven’t missed the daughter they lost as a child. After they learned about you, they’ve been too antsy to sit still at home and just want to come see you. My brother and I had to stop them. It’s better to wait until the test results are definitive."
Sienna Everett blinked. ’Good thing the Prescott’s parents didn’t come.’
’Since she was destined to have no connection to the Prescott Family, she wasn’t the daughter they’d been searching for all this time. Even if they had come, it would have been a wasted trip.’
Still, Sienna Everett couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy. ’Other people’s parents are so good to their daughters.’
She thought of her own parents, Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker. They were parents too, yet begging for even a shred of affection from them had become an extravagant hope...
"Sienna, let’s keep tomorrow’s DNA test a secret for now. Don’t mention it to anyone," Ian Prescott instructed, his expression serious.
Sienna Everett understood, of course. This was a precaution to ensure the DNA test wasn’t tampered with or the samples swapped.
"Okay, my lips are sealed."
After speaking, Sienna Everett glanced at the time. It was almost evening. She said, "Let me treat you to dinner. I still haven’t thanked you for the matter with Nolan Chambers."
"Don’t you dare thank me. I can’t stand hearing such formal words from you," Ian Prescott teased with a smile.
"Alright then. In that case, I’m simply treating you to dinner," Sienna Everett said with a helpless shake of her head, and she started to laugh too.
Just as they were about to head to a nearby restaurant, Lucas Everett suddenly came running after them, out of breath.
The smile on Sienna Everett’s face vanished instantly, her expression turning cold.
Seeing this, Lucas Everett felt a dull ache in his chest, as if it were stuffed with water-soaked cotton, so heavy it was hard to breathe. His voice was faint and hoarse as he called out, "Sienna..."
Ian Prescott scoffed. "What’s this? Usually, you’re cursing ’Sienna Everett,’ but now you’re calling her ’Sienna’?"
Lucas Everett’s face flushed red from the mockery, his eyes filled with agony. "I... I was blind before. I misjudged you, Sienna, I..."
"Lucas Everett." Sienna Everett finally spoke, cutting him off coldly. Her delicate features were a mask of indifference. "Don’t stand here and be an eyesore."
’Don’t stand here... and be an eyesore...’
Those dismissive and cold words made the pain in Lucas Everett’s eyes deepen.
If it weren’t for Sienna Everett, his leg would still be injured, still crippled. He wouldn’t even have the right to stand here.
"Sienna, I know I was wrong. It was me, your fourth brother, who wronged you before..."
However, faced with Lucas Everett’s remorse and apology, Sienna Everett didn’t even spare him a glance. She turned to Ian Prescott beside her and said, "Let’s go."
It was as if staying here for one more second would ruin her mood.
Lucas Everett still had a bellyful of things he wanted to say to Sienna Everett. He subconsciously reached out to stop her from leaving.
But when he met Sienna Everett’s gaze—so cold it was devoid of any warmth—Lucas Everett’s arm felt too heavy to lift. The words to stop her wouldn’t come out.
He remembered how, back at the Everett estate, Sienna would often look at him carefully, her eyes pleading, wanting to get closer to him, her fourth brother. But he had no patience for her. He only treated Shannon Everett as his sister and wished Sienna Everett would just die and get out of his sight.
Now, it was his turn to have so much he wanted to say to Sienna Everett. It was his turn to want to get closer to her.
He wanted to call her "sister" again.
He wanted to hear Sienna call him "Fourth Brother" again.
But the Sienna of today wasn’t willing at all.
Watching Sienna Everett’s indifferent back as she left without a trace of attachment, Lucas Everett stood there, utterly dejected. Tears of regret streamed from the corners of his eyes, his usually stern face now filled with remorse and pain.
An unknown amount of time passed, and the sky gradually darkened.
Lucas Everett remained standing there, motionless, like a soulless statue.
When Wyatt Everett and Dustin Everett found him, this was the scene that greeted them.
They had learned online that The God of Racing was none other than Sienna Everett. After their initial shock, they were overcome with pride. They immediately looked up the address for the Keston celebration and rushed over without stopping.
Unfortunately, they were a step too late. They only saw Lucas Everett, not Sienna Everett.
’Sigh, what’s so great about seeing Lucas? It’s our sister we want to see!’
’Another missed opportunity to see our sister.’
But the pride in Dustin Everett’s heart continued to swell. "Third Brother, our sister is amazing! She’s actually The God of Racing!"
Wyatt Everett nodded, feeling both happy and ashamed. "As her older brothers, we’re useless. We’re a real embarrassment to her."
"That’s not true, Third Brother. You’re the one who’s useless. I can sing!" Dustin Everett puffed out his chest proudly. "After all, I used to be a top-tier singer!"
Wyatt Everett: "..."
Dustin Everett’s face was full of nostalgia as he boasted smugly, "Our sister even wrote a song for me back when she was using the name SG!"
Wyatt Everett was practically dying of jealousy. He picked up a stick from the ground and raised his hand, about to whack him with it.
Dustin Everett dodged nimbly.
But Wyatt Everett turned and walked toward Lucas Everett, stick in hand.
"Third Brother, what are you doing?" Dustin Everett asked hastily.
"I’m going to break Lucas Everett’s leg and repay Sienna’s kindness! This leg of his should have stayed crippled in the first place!"
With a cold expression, Wyatt Everett walked up to Lucas Everett and viciously raised the stick in his hand.
Dustin Everett was startled. He didn’t dare to intervene and covered his eyes in fear.
Lucas Everett still stood there, unmoving. His eyeballs turned slowly, finally pulling him out of his dejected stupor.
However, seeing Wyatt Everett with the raised stick, Lucas Everett didn’t flinch in the slightest. He didn’t even bat an eyelid.
It was as if he were atoning for his sins.
He wanted to atone with his leg.
’Go ahead and hit me. It would be better if this leg broke.’
’This is all I owe Sienna.’
