Chapter 1098: Changes. (1)
Shi Lang was unaware that as soon as he stepped into the realm of the sages, the Dao Plain got the news. The ranking list had changed, and the human race that was sitting in the mid three thousands has directly jumped by thousand places, and was now ranked two thousand one.
The various races noticed that the name of the human race was now written in golden letters. Gold was the color of sage. Even if their was one sage in the whole race, they would get the golden color. Along with that, their was an extra benefit, the Dao Plain boundaries of their world would have stronger barriers and the foreign races would have trouble if they tried to get through the barriers.
Why was it that among the ten thousand races, only a few thousand could be tagged as sage races? Because the heavenly tribulation of a sage was not easy to cross. Having a sage was a blessing, having two sages was a boon, and having three was dominance. However, even than, the difference between these thousand races was theoretically unsurmountable.
Shi Lang had no idea that many lower ranked races were thinking of befriending the human race and gain some benefits for themselves. He was consolidating his foundation while the Asura Hall was being redeveloped around him at a high speed.
After sometime the young man opened his eyes, he had no idea how much time he had spent for the consolidation but looking around he found himself sitting inside a garden located in the center of a palace. He raised his brow and after sensing the architecture of the place, he realized that the palace was built to follow the design language of a western style.
He nodded as he mumbled, “Amelia must have designed this.”
He was about to go and look for his wife, when he suddenly noticed something different about the garden around him. The entire place was filled with Lilies but these didn’t look like normal flowers. Shi Lang noticed that a few drops of dews were sitting on the petals of the flower.
He was about to use his spirit sense to inspect the dew when a calm voice stopped him, “Baba, don’t disturb them.”
Shi Lang stopped and turned around to find Hao Mei walking up to him with a smile. He asked, “What is going on here?”
Hao Mei replied, “These are spirit gathering Lilies. The drops that you see are pure liquid spirit energy. Once removed from the petals it would evaporate.”
Shi Lang raised his brow and Hao Mei said, “There has been significant changes, the War Council is waiting for you to review the reports.”
Shi Lang felt out of sorts and asked, “Love, how long have I been meditating for?”
Hao Mei replied, “It has been three weeks, however the changes were too quick and we had no other option but to take some decisions. The entire human race has decided to look past the issues they had internally and are trying to maximize the advantage.”
Shi Lang furrowed and said, “Peace brings stagnation. I hope for their sakes these old relics know what they are doing. Anyhow, where is your mother?”
Hao Mei replied, “After your ascension she has been secluding herself. Big sister said that Ma has become a cultivation freak like you.”
Shi Lang smiled and patted her forehead gently as he said, “I am not a freak kiddo. Go tend to your stuff, I will see to the other things.”
…
Shi Lang toured around the Asura Hall, and found that every corner was oozing with magnificence. The decorations were all elegant, but they were not lavish. While touring he stood at the entrance of a huge hall. Upon reading the plaque on the side, he found this place was called the contribution hall.
After stepping inside, he found a huge jumbotron, there were names flashing every few seconds, and beside the names there were points listed. Shi Lang looked at the left most section and found a column that was listed as the elders.
His contribution points were the highest among the elders, with Tian Long behind him by several hundred thousand. Shi Lang smiled and then he turned around to leave the room. He wanted to meet the elders and ask what was going on, when he spotted Tian Long walking over to him.
Tian Long said, “Good that you have woken up, can you tell me how to condense a Dao fruit? I have gotten tired of waiting.”
Shi Lang rolled his eyes and said, “If you don’t want me to beat you into an idiot that you already are, get lost. Did you think it would be that easy to rear a Dao Fruit?”
The Terran shrugged off and walked away, but Tian Long kept following him and started to ask why it was so difficult. Shi Lang wanted to say that he was useless that’s why but he held back and said, “Long, it happens to be a mystery. I was lucky to breakthrough quickly because I have many Dao Laws to back my strength. However, you have limited laws in your bags. This is why you are slow in advance. However, one thing that you would have better than the rest, that is foundation.
Since you have been walking this path for so long, make sure you explore it properly. The further down you go the better the comprehension and growth you will see.”
Tian Long was stunned, and then he stopped walking. Shi Lang walked away from his spot and he found himself standing in front of the gathering hall. He sensed at least hundred people standing inside the room. There were several people standing outside. They were not from the Asura Hall.
Shi Lang frowned, and he was about to ask who they were when Shi Tao appeared beside him and said, “They are all escorted directly here. They are not allowed to roam around or even use their divine sense so, Baba, don’t be angry.”
Thankfully she showed up just now, and stopped him, because she could sense a strong danger coming from him and the rest of the people were already sweating crazily. They have all heard of Shi Lang, but this was the first time they saw him in person. Just a moment ago, they were fearful of their lives.
Shi Lang looked at Shi Tao and said, “They must be escorts of the old relics inside, right?”
Shi Tao nodded and the Terran said, “Send them out, they can wait there. Give them the refreshments they need. As for the meetings, from the next meeting, any engagement with any outsider will be held outside the sect grounds.”
Shi Tao nodded, she knew that Shi Lang didn’t trust these people and that he was doing it for the sake of everyone’s safety. The Terran has always told her that it was not the enemies that they should have been worried about, betrayal often came from the insiders.
The Terran placed his hand on the door and then he pushed it open. He stepped inside the hall where everyone stopped talking and stood up to look at him. Shi Lang spotted that the person sitting in the lead chair was Prince Beiming. He stepped in the hall and closed the door behind himself as he asked, “Beiming, what is all this about?”
Prince Beiming had regained his youthful appearance, and he sighed as he said, “Bro, thank god you are here. They all have come here to look for some negotiation. Everyone else was in seclusion and only Old Long was out with me. So, the children asked me to handle this.”
Shi Lang looked at the hundreds of old experts and he asked, “I wonder if you would mind me leading the negotiation from the Asura Hall’s side.”
The people took deep breaths but none of them dared to say anything. Prince Beiming stood up from the chair and said, “I surely don’t. You know I hate these things.”
Shi Lang flickered and when he re-appeared, he sat in the chair of the Asura Hall Master. He asked, “What do you all want?”
The people had difficulty explaining what they wanted, and Shi Lang remarked, “If you are feeling hesitant then why have you come here?”
One man stood up hearing this and said, “Your Excellency, I am Yang Tai Gu. I am the ancestor of the Yang Family.”
Shi Lang nodded, and the old Dao Emperor said, “Sir, we have not been able to level up into the Dao Seed realms, and we seek the guidance of the Asura Hall in this matter.”
Shi Lang nodded and after a few moments of thinking, he asked, “What would the Asura Hall get in return? I am sure that you all have discovered the inheritances left behind by the other human experts. Then why do you need us?”
His question tripped the people but another person stood up and said, “Your Excellency, we are will to exchange the techniques we have inherited from the visits to Sage Tombs. However, we hope that the Dao Seed realm could be made public.”
Shi Lang leaned back in his chair and then looking at the people he said, “Fine, we will be accepting all the inherited techniques that you all have, and establish a Sutra Pavilion. That place will be open for everyone in the immortal plain. Those who can comprehend the techniques will be trained by the elders and then sent to the Dao Plains. The influx in spirit energy will ensure that the resources are abundant, however, I would like you all to make an oath that none will exploit the resources and strategically see towards their multiplication. Agreed?”
