Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1760: Yan Changsheng, Su Ying

Chapter 1760: Yan Changsheng, Su Ying

When Li Luo asked that question, everyone turned towards the couple who had been alive since the time of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect's most glorious era.

Yan Changsheng and Su Ying glanced at each other, and nostalgia could be seen in their eyes. Yan Changsheng's stern gaze softened greatly as he answered, "We met your mother when she was around ten years old. She was foraging in the vicinity of the Spiritual Resonance Cave. At that point in time, she had yet to awaken her resonance. Even so, she remained unafraid of the dangers around her. On the contrary, despite being alone and without anyone to rely on, she dared to mingle with the cultivators sent to scout the area, using her exceptional intelligence and courage to seek opportunities to survive."

Li Taixuan, Li Luo, and Jiang Qing'e were all speechless. They couldn't even imagine how a little girl who was effectively defenseless would dare to venture through the Heavenly Star Plains, a place rife with dangerous individuals and criminals. For the sake of treasures, some of the rogue cultivators and bandits would dare to even kill people from Heavenly Emperor powers, much less a harmless child.

Tantai Lan sometimes spoke about how she was an orphan who drifted around and struggled to survive. However, despite experiencing numerous hardships, she continued to strive and seize every opportunity possible to change her fate.

A sour feeling welled up within Li Taixuan, Li Luo, and Jiang Qing'e's hearts. It was hard to imagine that Tantai Lan had drifted around like duckweed when she was a child, suffering through endless struggles and never-ending bullying. She was like the foxtail plant growing from the cracks between rocks. Even after enduring bitter rainstorms and tormenting winds, it resiliently grew towards the sun, eventually transforming into a towering tree. The image of Tantai Lan appeared in their minds, someone graceful, elegant, powerful, valiant, and, most importantly, warm.

Yan Changsheng continued, "Little Lan went through countless trials. During one particular life-and-death encounter, her resonant palace finally awakened and she obtained her very first resonance."

At this point, everyone remembered her first resonance, the Golden Winged Peng resonance.

"I was still in slumber at the time. However, because my main body is a Golden Winged Peng, I sensed her awakening. Being idle for so long left us feeling empty and bored, so the two of us grew interested in that little girl. We then quietly watched her from the shadows, watching her go through countless hardships, constantly being hunted and robbed of treasures, facing perilous situations at every turn.

"However, she was ultimately too weak. There was one particular crisis where she was surrounded by powerful enemies and almost succumbed to her injuries. Feeling pity for her and her talent, we opened up a channel within the Spiritual Resonance Cave, rescued her, and brought her here. After which, Little Lan stayed with us, and we mentored her. It was only many years later that she bade us farewell and left."

Hearing Yan Changsheng's story finally allowed Li Taixuan, Li Luo, and Jiang Qing'e to understand Tantai Lan's extraordinary experiences, leaving them amazed.

"This means that you seniors are my mother's masters," Li Luo reverently said.

Yan Changsheng warmly replied, "Strictly speaking, we never formally became master and disciple. We didn't give her many opportunities—she obtained everything herself. When she lived with us, Little Lan called me 'Uncle Changsheng' and referred to Ying'er as 'Aunt Ying.' She truly alleviated our loneliness."

Su Ying smiled sweetly as she added, "Little Lan was an exceptional child. With her talent and willpower, she would have stood out even in the Sacred Void Resonance Sect."

Li Taixuan's expression turned solemn as he bowed deeply towards the couple, fully portraying himself as a humble junior. He then said, "My wife suffered greatly when she was young, and I sincerely thank you two for caring for her during her weakest moments, and providing her with shelter and guidance. My family will never forget what you've done."

Although Yan Changsheng's words sounded simple, Li Taixuan was very clear that those few years of guidance and companionship meant a lot to Tantai Lan after growing up alone. She was a sentimental individual, and even if she never said it, she definitely regarded this couple as family members. She cared about the couple so deeply that she had never spoken about them to anyone, not even Li Taixuan, Li Luo, or Jiang Qing'e, the three people she cared most about.

Both Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e stepped forward to bow as well. This was not forced, but something they were more than willing to do. After all, if these two seniors hadn't rescued and taught Tantai Lan, perhaps none of the things that had occurred later would have happened. However, they were surprised to realize an invisible force was holding them up, preventing them from bowing. They lifted their heads in surprise.

Yan Changsheng and Su Ying smiled as they looked at the two of them. Yan Changsheng said, "It's good enough that your father bowed. The two of you don't have to do so."

Su Ying laughed lightly. "You are the Absolute Resonance Seed, and you have managed to cultivate a Ten Divine Seals Absolute Resonance Halo. You would be considered equal to the Sect Master in the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. How can two of the Void Resonance's Six Sons, your subordinates, allow you to bow before us?"

Her gaze then turned towards Jiang Qing'e, and the look in her eyes turned complicated. There was even a trace of awe contained within as she continued. "And when it comes to light... you are the Sect Leader in our eyes."

"What do you mean, Senior?" Li Taixuan asked curiously. He didn't understand why the two seniors would refer to Jiang Qing'e as "light."

Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e glanced at each other, both turning silent for a few moments. In the end, they chose to explain the situation to Li Taixuan, revealing the secret behind Jiang Qing'e being the Quasi Tenth-grade light resonance.

"What?! Little Jiang'e is the manifestation of the Legendary Sect Master's Quasi Tenth-grade light resonance?!" Li Taixuan exclaimed in disbelief. Even he couldn't maintain his composure upon hearing this weighty secret.

However, when he thought about it more deeply, Jiang Qing'e' was indeed filled with mysteries. This was something that he and Tantai Lan understood best, as they were the ones who had brought her out of the ruins of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. Thus, it was indeed plausible that she was a transformation of the Legendary Sect Master's Quasi Tenth-grade light resonance.

Although a resonance taking human form and possessing intelligence sounded unbelievable, the fact that it was almost at the tenth-grade resonance meant that normal logic didn't necessarily apply. The tenth-grade was a realm akin to a true god, after all.

Meanwhile, Qi Huang was a little surprised, but after a while, a look of understanding appeared in his eyes. Although he wasn't fully aware of this secret, based on the fluctuations coming from his own light resonance, he could sense that Jiang Qing'e's light resonances felt a little different.

Yan Changsheng sighed lightly as she said, "Every little sip or bite we take has already been pre-ordained. All these years ago, we were moved by our compassion, having saved Little Lan. Who would have known that decades later, it would be due to her that we would encounter the Absolute Resonance Seed and light again. The mission that the Sect Master gave us can be considered complete."

"A mission from the Sect Master?" Those words immediately elicited a wave of surprise among the group.

"We were left here to suppress and purify the withering glory resonance," Su Ying explained.

Li Luo asked in confusion, "The withering glory resonance was seized by the Origin Reversion Institute. Why didn't you stop them, Seniors?"

If two Divine Fruit Heavenly Emperors had taken action, even with their strength reduced by the Heavenly Emperor Edict, at the very least the Origin Reversion Institute wouldn't have succeeded.

Yan Changsheng gave a shallow smile as he explained, "The reason why the two of us have managed to resist the erosion of time is because this place is special. The Sect Leader used the glory aspect of the resonance to allow our vitality to flourish for as long as we are in here. This also means that the moment we step out of the Spiritual Resonance Cave, we'll instantly turn into dust and scatter into the wind."

Everyone turned silent, and disappointment flickered through Qi Huang's eyes. So they couldn't leave, and if they did, time would finally take its toll on them.

"Now that the withering glory resonance has been lost. What other mission do you have, Seniors?" Qi Huang asked respectfully.

Su Ying smiled and shook her head before she said, "The withering glory resonance might have been taken away, but it wasn't completely lost."
