Chapter 1761: Withering Glory Heart Lotus

"The withering glory resonance might have been taken away, but it wasn't completely lost."

Yan Changsheng sighed before he continued, "When the Sect Master chose to separate her resonances from herself, the withering glory resonance, which had been corrupted by the Origin of Absolute Corruption, was handed over to the two of us. A wondrous formation was also set up within the Spiritual Resonance Cave, tapping into the glory resonance's ability to let things flourish. That formation has protected us from the harsh erosion of time.

"The two of us were ordered to suppress and cleanse the withering glory resonance. After all, it was far less corrupted than the extinction resonance, and it had not reached the Quasi Tenth-grade. Thus, the Sect Master hoped that we would be able to purify it over time. Unfortunately, however..."

When that last sentence was uttered, everyone's hearts sank. Judging by how the withering glory resonance had escaped on its own, Yan Changsheng and Su Ying's efforts had clearly failed.

"Seniors, did your attempts to purify it fail?" Qi Huang couldn't help but to ask directly.

Su Ying sighed once more. "We did fail, but it wasn't a complete failure."

Yan Changsheng explained, "Initially, we did attempt to cleanse the withering glory resonance. Later on, however, we discovered that the Origin of Absolute Corruption's influence was irreversible. After all, if even the Sect Master was unable to remove it, how could the two of us ever hope to? Thus, we chose to change the way we approached the problem. We used one of the measures the Sect Master left behind for us, which was to slowly separate the corrupted aspects of the withering glory resonance from the parts that were fine. It quietly sat within the clouds like a precious divine object, drawing looks of awe from everyone present. Qi Huang and the Golden Winged Peng Elder couldn't help stop their hearts from trembling. They could keenly sense that if they absorbed this treasure, they would definitely enter the Heavenly Emperor Stage.

"This is what we have created from extracting the Authority from the withering glory resonance. We've termed it the Withering Glory Heart Lotus. This is the only thing we managed to produce after all these years," Yan Changsheng said as he looked at the lotus with a complicated look in his eyes.

"Seniors, you two have done your best. At the very least, you've managed to retain a portion of the withering glory resonance's power, preventing everything from falling into the Origin Reversion Institute's hands," said Li Taixuan.

"What do you plan to do with this treasure, Seniors?" Qi Huang immediately asked.

"These two are the only ones capable of touching it," Yan Changsheng answered as he looked at Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e. He then explained to Qi Huang and the rest, "The Withering Glory Heart Lotus is particularly unique. Only those who possess the Absolute Resonance Seed can inherit it, and a completely new withering glory resonance will be born when they do. Anyone else, even a Heavenly Emperor, would find it difficult to achieve the same result."

Qi Huang smiled and nodded. "Li Luo has indeed contributed the most during this battle. This opportunity should naturally fall into his hands."
