Chapter 383: Chapter 383: Pulling Out Faye Sterling’s Fangs (Part 7)
Kellan Sutton walked up to Seraphina Sterling. "Miss Sterling, I’m truly sorry about what just happened. It was my fault for being so blind. I hope you can forgive me! This is about my own lack of character; it has nothing to do with my father. Even if you don’t forgive me, please don’t take it out on my dad!"
Seraphina Sterling’s brow relaxed slightly. ’It seems Kellan Sutton isn’t entirely without merit; at least he remembered he had a father!’ She gave a faint smile. "Since Mr. Sutton has taken it this far, it would seem petty of me to keep holding onto this. It was just a small matter. President Sutton and Mr. Sutton are taking it too seriously. We can let this go. A moment ago, you didn’t know I was the person you were supposed to meet. But if something like this happens again, don’t blame me for the consequences."
"Miss Sterling is so magnanimous. Kyle, what are you waiting for? Thank Miss Sterling!" Franklin Sutton was very pleased with this outcome. ’As long as Seraphina Sterling doesn’t just turn her back and leave, the Sutton Group still has a chance!’
"Thank you, Miss Sterling!" Kellan Sutton’s anger surged. He despised the person standing before him, yet he was forced to bow his head and apologize. He felt like he was about to die from the humiliation!
After wasting so much time outside, the group finally returned to the private room.
Franklin Sutton was lavishing praise on Seraphina Sterling, speaking as if she were a treasure unmatched on heaven or earth. Seraphina simply listened without offering any opinion. Joel Xavier drank his tea, not joining the conversation. As for Kellan Sutton, he had become invisible. The only sound in the entire room was the voice of Franklin Sutton.
But no matter how much he had to say, he couldn’t go on forever without anyone responding. "Kyle, go and see why the food isn’t here yet. We can talk while we eat."
Kellan Sutton suddenly realized a crucial problem. He immediately stood up, but before he could leave the room, someone entered. "Everyone, the kitchen is sending up the dishes now!"
Seraphina Sterling truly hadn’t expected to see Taylor Sutton here. ’Now things are getting interesting!’ "Dean Connor Kent sure works fast. The guidance counselor left the school so quickly! But he’s quite impressive himself, finding a new job so soon. Working under President Sutton, your future is boundless!"
"What? Miss Sterling, you know Taylor? He’s my brother’s son, we’re quite close. He just finished his master’s degree and is very capable, so he came to help out at the Sutton Group directly. With him here, there are many things I no longer have to worry about. In terms of ability, Taylor is far better than the average person!" Franklin Sutton assumed Seraphina Sterling and Taylor Sutton were friends, never imagining there might be bad blood between them. "Taylor, how do you two know each other? How come I’ve never heard you mention it?"
Taylor Sutton looked at Seraphina Sterling, who was seated in the place of honor, then noted the tone Franklin Sutton used when speaking to her. A terrible premonition suddenly rose in his heart. For a moment, he had no idea how to answer and could only glance at Kellan Sutton.
The private room instantly fell silent. Franklin Sutton also sensed that something was amiss, and the smile on his face froze.
"In that case, President Sutton, you should be thanking me. If it weren’t for me, you might not have gained such a capable assistant!" Seraphina Sterling said with a light laugh.
"What do you mean? Is there more to this story?" Franklin Sutton’s smile vanished. He could smell that something was wrong.
"President Sutton, you probably don’t know this, but Taylor Sutton was formerly a freshman guidance counselor at Aethelgard University’s School of Economics and Management. On the very day I went to register, it was Taylor Sutton who stood at the school’s entrance, insisted I was late, and refused to process my enrollment. In the end, our dean had to come in person to resolve the matter so I could enroll successfully! If Taylor Sutton hadn’t left Aethelgard University, how could he possibly have come to the Sutton Group to help you, President Sutton?"
