Chapter 174: Chapter 174

"We indeed had an agreement," Aguilar doubled down, despite his plan going off the rails, thinking quick on his feet was a necessary ability for survival. "And Lord Montesserat was generous enough to uphold his end of it, so naturally I’ll do the same."

Ruoxi stepped forward, the Incubus was smiling but the charming expression didn’t touch his cold eyes. "And might I ask what your end of the agreement was?"

Uninterested in the Vampires, Kath’tan moved over to Dulce’s side, stepping in front of the clingy witch. He could tell that the Incubus was in a peculiar mood, and without his hammer, he wasn’t as inclined to brawl, satisfied with having Dulce within reach.

Aguilar’s shifty red eyes darted from side to side, compared to the other two, this Demon seemed more amenable. "To undo the sealing spell on the witch, and then we can amicably part ways." He lied seamlessly.

Dulce’s brows furrowed, unwilling to converse with the Vampire further, even if it was to defend himself.

Moira didn’t even care that she had been pushed further away from Dulce again, the danger was past so now all that was left was anger. She stomped her foot in anger, and her entire body seemed to flash a faint purple light.

She unfortunately couldn’t undo the silencing spell, Aguilar the mage was far more proficient than she was, so her words of anger remained unspoken.

Ruoxi nodded, even without Dulce’s half-hearted denial, he knew the Vampire’s stance on his kind. "Go ahead then," He allowed generously.

Aguilar’s gaze cooled as he gave the Demon another once over, that unsettlingly striking face was smiling at him, his eyes curved into crescents, but it only chilled him. "And afterwards?" He asked guardedly.

The sealing spell on the witch was inconsequential, if anything, Aguilar would rather not undo it. The human witch’s eyes were blazing, he knew she was a dam of words waiting to break.

He was more testing the waters, if there was even the slimmest chance to escape, he would capitalize on it. Dulce Montesserat couldn’t be more neutral so he didn’t dare plead to the Vampire for survival.

Ruoxi didn’t lose his smile, "We part ways amicably. I believe that was the agreement."

Aguilar was still skeptical but he clung to the hope that he and his coven weren’t worth exerting effort. "Indeed." He hastily agreed.

As soon as the word fell past his lips, he was caught in a chokehold, the Demon closing the distance in a breath.

"There’s no need to undo the spell in that case," Ruoxi didn’t lose his pleasant tone even though the Vampire in his hold was currently being choked out.

Aguilar didn’t even get a warning, one moment he was bargaining for his life, and the next, his eyes were popping out of his skull from the force of his spine being forcibly crushed.

Ruoxi released the Vampire and let him drop to the ground, turning around to face his companions. "Why don’t you all go ahead? I’ll catch up later."

Dulce frowned, "Will you be alright all alone? There’s no hurry we can wai- ah?"

Asael pulled the chatty Vampire against him and before Dulce could recover, he warped away.

Moira immediately clung to Kath’tan’s sleeve, terrified that she was going to be left behind. Her silencing spell was still undone but that was a minor matter, she would rather not be left behind to witness the massacre of a coven of Vampires. What if Ruoxi wasn’t satisfied with them and added her to the mix?

Kath’tan shot the witch an impatient look but he still grabbed her by the band of her dress, wary of touching her directly. With one last glance at Ruoxi, he also vanished, warping away from the cellar.

With the company gone, Ruoxi pushed his bloody hand through his hair, his smile falling off his face. His horns made an appearance, the sight frightening the seven Vampires even more.

Aguilar was still twitching on the ground, he was gravely injured but he was still a Vampire, like resilient bugs, they were incredibly difficult to kill. If left alone, he would eventually recover....

He lifted a foot and squashed the Vampire’s head like a melon, it made a distasteful sound, the blood and brain matter coating his boot making him frown.

At this, the coven of Vampires scattered. For a while, they had expected to be beaten up, it was something they could endure, and without Aguilar to guide them, they were feeling out the situation.

But it couldn’t be clearer now that their end had come. To think that it was neither by Gilles nor Dulce Montesserat, but rather a completely unexpected third party.

The Vampires didn’t go far before they froze in place, not even one of them managed to escape the cellar.

Ruoxi walked over to the closest Vampire, his dashing face cold. The sweet, light scent of lotus filled the cellar, it overpowered even the metallic smell of blood.

Cubi possessed the ability to charm all creatures, although most Cubi were weak so a moderately strong opponent could guard against it. Being imbued with the strength of a Holy Demon however, had naturally influenced his charm.

In a matter of minutes, the coven of Vampires were completely decimated, blood and guts and torn limbs strewn on the ground and splattered on the walls.

The ability to charm was mostly harmless, it merely made its target more agreeable and malleable. Using it to completely control a target was completely unheard of, quickly transforming it into a lethal tool.

Ruoxi glanced down at his bloody hands, revolted. He turned away from the carnage, creating a portal. Even his clothes and hair hadn’t been spared, he couldn’t return like this.

His horns dissipated as he stepped into the portal, regaining his good mood. Left behind were the remains of Aguilar’s coven, even for resilient Vampires, surviving this was out of the question.

It looked like a wild beast had attacked them, body parts ripped apart like mere pieces of fabric that it would be practically impossible to reassemble the Vampires.
