Chapter 598: Chapter 479: Story Revisited_3
All the enemies had fallen stiff, frozen into ice sculptures.
"The hour has come, and a mortal’s day has finally ended." Hai Shuangyao, satisfied, flicked her icy blue hair as her Golden Core Spiritual Pressure surged recklessly into the sky.
She gleefully pulled out a small notebook from her pocket, scribbling: "It’s been a hundred and thirty-nine years. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve failed. Now I finally succeeded! Fulfilled, fulfilled, super fulfilled!"
"Baitao, Lin Le, thanks to both of you, you should take a little rest now."
With a flash of her figure, she drew a bright blue streak, shooting toward the sky.
"I’ll chase away that wicked woman, Mi Mengyin, first!"
In the sky, Ye Xiao had already sustained serious injuries, being pressed down by a massive ice pillar.
Mi Mengyin sneered and was about to rush toward the Yushan Battle Array on the ground but suddenly looked up in delight.
"Shuangyao, you’ve finally decided to come out!"
The response to her was an ice crystal bridge spanning the night sky. Hai Shuangyao stepped on the ice bridge, blitzed forward, raising her hands, and an Ice Dragon rose with its head held high, roaring towards Mi Mengyin.
"Mi Mengyin! How dare you follow me here; I must teach you a lesson!"
Mi Mengyin gently blew out a breath, causing black ice crystals to whirl in the air, shattering the Ice Dragon into pieces within a few breaths.
She chuckled lightly, malice gleaming in her eyes: "Such a small figure, yet so cocky. You better pray I don’t break your legs, or else you’ll have to cut your trip short and obediently return to the island."
Hai Shuangyao was so furious she screamed, the azure glow around her growing even brighter, snow and ice cascading within several dozen feet around her.
The two engaged in a mid-air battle—a petite, cute girl versus a voluptuous, mature enchantress. Azure and ebony ice crystals clashed, engulfed, and exploded. Huge hailstones and ice crystals strafed Nocturnal City, the sounds of shattering buildings echoing all around.
The Yushan Disciples raised their Starlight Shields, and as several Foundation Establishment cultivators exchanged glances, they decided to seize this opportunity to bring order to Nocturnal City, cleansing it of rioters, restoring peace.
Thus, while the battle raged in the sky, the city was also engulfed in turmoil. Yushan Disciples, led by three Feathered Scholars, traversed the city to re-establish order, dispatching any rioters on the spot.
Half an hour later, the ice and snow in the sky finally subsided. Mi Mengyin wiped her hand over a huge wound revealing internal organs in her abdomen, chuckling lightly: "It’s still a draw this time. Mostly due to your luck; if I hadn’t squandered a bit of my Spiritual Power earlier, you’d be under my foot now. Oh well, I’ll come find you again in a few days."
Ye Xiao, having recovered slightly, ascended into the sky once more and, seeing her about to leave, shouted angrily: "Who exactly are you?"
Mi Mengyin scoffed: "You rustic bumpkin, unworthy of knowing my origins. I won’t be coming back to this desolate place again."
As soon as she finished speaking, she transformed into an Escape Light and disappeared.
This left Ye Xiao boiling with rage, but given the disparity in power, he was helpless to stop her.
Similarly, Hai Shuangyao, covered in injuries, sealed her wounds with Ice Crystal and descended with a cold expression, turning sunny upon seeing the Yunshan Sect members. She called out, "Where’s Baitao and Xiaolin?"
The two were in meditation, recovering, but hurriedly rose to greet the call.
Hai Shuangyao darted over to Baitao. Jiang Baitao, seeing her body riddled with deep wounds, visible to the bone, sealed with Ice Crystal, was startled and quickly invited her to sit and heal.
To his surprise, Hai Shuangyao nonchalantly said, "These wounds are nothing. That wicked woman is even more injured than me."
Switching the subject, her eyes sparkled once more: "Thanks to you this time, let me think, how should I thank you?"
Hai Shuangyao furrowed her brows, pacing back and forth, then suddenly recalled those story plots, her eyes lighting up instantly.
"Right, I’ll take you as my apprentices!"
