Chapter 585: Chapter 475: Wielding the Sword Against the Heroes

Seeing Lin Le, Jiang Qingfeng was pleasantly surprised, but soon thought of Wu Yan in the team and sighed.

She hadn’t known earlier that her disciple was in Nocturnal City handling affairs, and the summon just brought him over.

Regarding the entanglement between Lin Le and Wu Yan, as a mentor, she was quite concerned, but affairs of the heart are truly beyond meddling, especially when Lin Le is someone with his own convictions.

Jiang Qingfeng could only offer all her resources, hoping Lin Le’s cultivation path could be a bit smoother, perhaps with some kind of breakthrough.

Yet Lin Le, with his Five Spirit Roots, or rather Pseudo-Spiritual Root qualifications, was really too inadequate. If placed in other sects, even in Qi Cultivation Minor Sects, they might not be willing to recruit someone with Pseudo-Spiritual Roots. Wouldn’t the same resources be better used on other disciples?

Thirteen years after the Day of Tiger Roar, even with the full support of Yunshan Sect, Lu Qian, and Jiang Qingfeng, Lin Le’s cultivation was stuck at Early-Stage Qi Cultivation, and just before she set out for Foundation Establishment, he was still at the fourth level of Qi Cultivation.

Upon returning from Foundation Establishment this time, he finally broke through to the fifth level of Qi Cultivation, advancing to Mid-Stage Qi Cultivation, now able to use magical artifacts.

Though this progress brings a momentary joy, it is soon overshadowed by greater melancholy.

The cultivation path for Pseudo-Spiritual Roots essentially ends here, forever revolving within Mid-Stage Qi Cultivation.

Those who can advance to Late-Stage Qi Cultivation are rare indeed. Even with Yunshan Sect’s unhesitating support, Lin Le might break through, but so what?

The Celestial Mandate is such, allowing no further progress.

Moreover, while he is at Late-Stage Qi Cultivation, Little Yan might have already touched the door of Nascent Soul.

As random thoughts stirred in Jiang Qingfeng’s heart, Lin Le had already paid his respects to each mentor in turn and met his fellow students. When passing by Wu Yan, who was biting her lip with eyes red, his body paused and he circumvented her.

Jiang Baitao also sighed, then had an idea. Since the two of them feel awkward and uncomfortable together, why not...

"Xiaolin, come quickly!" Jiang Baitao gestured, "You’re most familiar with this place; you lead us to have some fun, somewhere mortals can go."

Lin Le was momentarily stunned, but he reacted swiftly. The little girl before him may have a Mortal Body, yet everyone treated her like a star among the moon, with utmost reverence. There must be something peculiar here.

"Places where mortals can go, no problem, just follow me." Lin Le smiled as he accepted, intending to slowly inquire about the girl’s identity on the way, "How about we start by checking out the gourmet area in the Venerable District?"

Jiang Baitao’s eyes brightened, and Hai Shuangyao clapped her hands joyfully, visibly excited.

As everyone prepared to follow along, Hai Shuangyao pouted, "No, no, why are you all following me? How can a mortal have so many attendants? Disperse, only Baitao and Xiaolin are enough."

If only Baitao were accompanying her, Jiang Qingfeng wouldn’t dare feel assured, but with Lin Le by her side, and since they were already in Nocturnal City, there naturally was no issue.

Thus Lin Le instructed the other disciples from the office to guide everyone to the Yunshan Sect’s residence for rest while he personally acted as the tour guide.

Watching their departing backs, Wang Yu spoke immediately: "Quickly inform Huanggen Sect to invite Ye Xiao to sit and oversee. Also, dispatch the Nocturnal City’s Law Enforcement Team secretly for protection, to follow and safeguard."

Nocturnal City is stationed in Tieyuan, where the law enforcement team comprises Huanggen Sect and Mingyu Sword Sect cultivators, while Yunshan Sect provides no combat power, only supports operations strategies and revenue audits, so assistance from Huanggen Sect is now requested.

As the homeward journey of Yunshan Sect’s individuals was disrupted by the sudden arrival of a Golden Core Master, at Heaven-Sundering Sword Peak on Liangxiang County’s Mingyu Sword Sect, disciples gathered, shoulder to shoulder, crowds jostling as they keenly watched the field.

"Overestimating oneself, truly overestimating oneself." A disciple of Mingyu Sword Sect mocked, "A swordsmanship competition? What swordsmanship does Yunshan Sect have?"

"Probably picked up some substandard swordsmanship from battling rogues earlier," one said casually, arms crossed, "Daring to boast at our doorstep, truly overestimating oneself."

Someone else laughed disdainfully, "I’ve heard Yunshan Sect Leader Lu Qian is good with arrays, but swordsmanship...does he really think wielding a flying sword qualifies as swordsmanship?"

...

The cultivators disregarded the alliance between Yunshan Sect and their own, for to them, hosting this swordsmanship sparring session was already Yunshan Sect’s provocation, thereby undeserving of respect.

Various mocking, dismissive, angry, or curious gazes turned toward the field outside, where atop a platform, their own Supreme Elder sat alongside Yunshan Sect’s Sect Leader.

Lu Qian.

The young cultivator sat beside Master Cangfeng, his posture upright, bearing magnificent. Though merely at Late-Stage Foundation Establishment, his aura was in no way inferior to a Golden Core Master.

Aware of everyone’s gaze, Lu Qian raised his eyes. Instantly, those meeting his gaze felt a flash of five-colored brilliance, extreme eye pain, and their Divine Souls trembled!

Immediately, a dozen people cried out, tears streaming, and stumbled fearfully into peers.

What’s happening?!

This sharpness that severs all, seemingly more terrifying than our own Sword Intent.

We have six Late-Stage Foundation Establishment cultivators in our sect, but none have displayed such techniques!

This left everyone deeply startled, no longer daring to gaze directly at the Yunshan Sect Leader. Yet when their eyes returned to the field where the Yunshan cultivator stood holding a sword, the frustration from being humbled by Lu Qian doubled in intensity.
