Chapter 1323: She’s Like Mom
Chapter 1323: Chapter 1323: She’s Like Mom
Although he felt her eyes were very similar to Mu Yan’s, Ning Shishen didn’t think much of it.
Near the end of the workday, Mrs. Ning called him, setting him up for dinner with a young lady of good family and urging him to keep the appointment.
Ning Shishen felt a headache coming on, "Mom, stop arranging these things, I’m very busy."
"Busy, busy, busy, you’re always saying you’re busy. Does being busy mean you won’t get married? Are you all trying to upset me?" Mrs. Ning complained.
Ning Shishen frowned slightly, "Mom, don’t worry about my marriage. Doesn’t Ning Ze have a girlfriend? You can focus on his issues."
"I’m fine until you mention him. Every time I think of him, I get upset. Look at his taste, rejecting a perfectly good young lady to date an older actress. When will I get to hold a grandchild?"
Ning Shishen frowned, "There’s nothing wrong with an actress; if he likes her, it’s fine."
"He may like her, but who knows if she’s stable. I don’t want to be the bad guy here, never mind. Why am I telling you this? You must meet with Nannan tonight, or else don’t call me Mom again."
Without waiting for Ning Shishen to respond, she hung up the phone.
Ning Shishen looked at his phone with a face full of helplessness.
His gaze fell on the photo frame in front of him. After more than half a year without seeing her, her smile seemed even sweeter, she must be very happy.
Perhaps, he should start a new life too, finding his own happiness.
At six in the afternoon, Jiang Jingheng came to pick up Mu Yan, and the two had dinner with Kong Lizhen and the others before heading home.
As soon as they got back to the villa, Mu Yan took out paper to draw design sketches.
She had already thought it through, so she quickly drew it out.
The hollow design gave the whole piece a sense of sophistication, the diamonds on the necklace sparkled like countless stars, and the pendant was a teardrop, symbolizing the goddess’s tears, with a preference for sapphire material.
She felt ruby’s brilliance couldn’t fully capture Kong Lizhen’s elegance; only sapphire was most suitable for her, deep and noble, approachable only from afar.
Jiang Jingheng saw her engrossed in her drawing, lost in her world, and a chord in his heart trembled.
He wasn’t the only one anymore.
The longer time passed, the more people surrounded her, and the more attention she gave to others.
Would there come a day when she wouldn’t see him at all?
A dark seed had taken root and sprouted, growing madly into the stature of a sky-high tree.
He wanted, really wanted to destroy it all, to make her only ever see him.
His light brown eyes were overshadowed with darkness, making him look extremely gloomy.
Mu Yan looked at her design sketch, becoming more satisfied as she gazed, though she wasn’t sure if such a large gemstone would be easy to find.
She put away the drawing paper, turned her head to Jiang Jingheng, "Jingheng..."
"Hmm?" Jiang Jingheng approached, his handsome face full of smiles, his whole demeanor like basking in sunlight.
Mu Yan loved watching him smile the most. She stood up and handed him the drawing, "Do you think this design looks good?"
Jiang Jingheng glanced at it and said, "It looks good; everything you draw looks good."
"You barely looked, that’s too perfunctory," Mu Yan feigned displeasure.
Jiang Jingheng laughed, "No, it’s not."
He diverted the topic, asking, "Do you like her a lot?"
"Yeah." Mu Yan answered without hesitation, "I think she’s quite like my mom, very gentle, especially her eyes, exactly the same."
Mom? Jiang Jingheng’s expression remained indifferent; he had stopped expecting so-called motherly love a long time ago.
However, Mu Yan’s words did remind him of certain things.
