A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis
Volume 16 Chapter 11: A Carriage From The Solis Kingdom Has Arrived
Keith yawned as he stretched his hand into the air, “Alright, let’s do this!” Instead of the demon attire he wore for the last few days, Keith was dressed in overalls. Today was going to be a laborious workday! He glanced down, “Are you ready, Eri?”
“Mmhmm!” Beside him was Eri, who wore the same outfit; she had a sunhat on where her ears popped out on each side. Her tail waved back and forth, showing her excitement. On her shoulder was Fira, who nodded, “Let’s do this!” The two were not alone: Mir and Lei bounced up and down.
Lilith watched them and spoke, “Thank you for doing this.” She was also in farm clothes. Surprisingly, it looked really good on her, giving her a mystic vibe.
“Child, we can have someone else do it?” Elyndra was baffled; she dressed in overalls as well. It was baffling when you considered that she was the queen. No one would believe her working on the farm.
“It’ll be fine, Queen Elyndra. Engaging in physical activity is beneficial for your health.” Today, they were setting up a garden. Lilith had requested some time after she saw the garden he had.
Keith scratched his head, “But is it fine for me to make one? You have lots here?” Honestly, making another one wasn’t needed; they had tons of gardens by the mansion.
“They are decorations; it is nothing compared to the vegetable garden you made.” The gardens were composed of flowers; she wanted something edible.
Scarlet stared at Alastair, “Are you sure you want to be here?” The one who stuck out like a sore thumb was this king: like Elyndra, who had seen a king do manual labor.
“Mmhmm.” The king nodded, but that only irritated Scarlet further as she looked away.
“Let’s get to work and till the soil first!” Keith lifted the hoe he was holding and dug into the soil; while he did, Eri followed his actions with a small hoe of her own. Keith chuckled as he patted her head, “Let me do this first, Eri. You have a bigger part to play later.”
“Okay.” “Eri, follow me!” Fira flapped ahead, and the little fox followed after her.
The other royals followed Keith’s movements.
“Why do I have to do this?” Tharaziel wanted to cry. Never did he expect to use a garden hoe in his life!
Elyndra smiled, “You’ve been eating so much. Having our own vegetables would be nice.” Home-grown vegetables were enticing. They had been eating Keith’s dishes, in which he incorporated his vegetables.
“That side is doing well.” Alastair and Scarlet were on one end: Alastair worked like a machine as he easily made a lane in a matter of minutes. Above him was Scarlet, who placed down the seeds and sprouts. The two worked in tandem, like a well-oiled machine.
“Tharaziel, work. You eat the most vegetables.” Lilith eyed her grandson; she was on sprout duty while Mir and Lei were running through the ground, breaking the dirt up.
“...Understood, Grandmother.” He sighed as he returned to work.
After a few hours of working,
“Okay, we’re done.” Keith let out a smile as he leaned on the bench; before him was a large field filled with sprouts and seeds. Selk brought out towels for everyone, letting them wipe their sweat.
Lilith asked, “How long will it take for the sprouts to grow?”
“About a month.” Fira was working her magic on the vegetables, which would decrease the time it took.
“I can wait.” Lilith took a deep breath. Keith nodded; good things come with waiting. Let’s have a treat. Raising his hand, cool air rose inside the pergola.
Scarlet tilted her head, “What are you going to make?”
“Shave ice.” Keith created a small ice block in his hand, “A hot day like this, you need something refreshing.” In one hand was a block of ice, while in another was a wind sphere. Slowly, the block of ice was pushed close to the sphere, allowing it to be shaved down into a tiny feather-like texture.
He turned to Eri and the kids, “What flavors do you want?”
“Po!” Po!” The little puffballs cheered.
“Orange and mango.”
“Strawberry.”
“Okay.” Keith made a bowl of ice; as the shaved ice dropped, red, orange, and yellow syrup was poured on top. The colors slowly seeped down into the rest.
“What about everyone else?”
“Lemon.”
“What do you have?”
“Oh, I have orange, lemon, blue plum, strawberry, apple, ahh, also the lychee I got from here.” He had a variety of syrups prepared.
“Why do you have so much?”
“In case I need to infuse it into baking bread.” He always had syrup in case of an emergency. Hearing this, Tharaziel sighed, “Give me the lychee.” He couldn’t with this guy. It was talking to a damn brick wall. Keith chuckled, but that was when someone had latched onto his arms.
One by one, he handed them a cup of shaved ice; they felt the heat in their bodies disappear as they ate. They were cooling down.
“Come on, Scarlet. Today is hot,” Keith would overlook it the other times, but not today. It was too hot for people to be so close.
“You’re so cool.” With him using ice magic, his body was cool; it was perfect for hugging.
“Come on, you can’t do this,” Keith grumbled as he ate his shaved ice, but that was when Scarlet pouted, “Eri, daddy is being mean.”
“Daddy,” Eri blinked, her cheeks covered in syrup.
“…” Keith sighed, “Okay, okay.” Scarlet happily snuggled into his arms as she ate. While they did,
“Your Majesty,” Rhaegon came over.
“What’s the matter?”
“A carriage from the Solis kingdom has arrived.”
“Eh?”
