A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 942: Preparing to Leave P2

  • Next Chapter

One of the Big Five Lords from the subcontinent fell under Varesh’s sword.

The White Limiya Lord immediately realized that the situation was hopeless.

She used a forbidden technique to escape, paying a tremendous price to force her way out of the battlefield.

Varesh didn’t pursue her.

Apparently, he simply couldn’t be bothered.

The White Limiya Lord was far weaker than him.

Pursuing her would have required additional effort, and there was no guarantee of obtaining anything worthwhile.

Varesh had already accomplished what he came for.

Still, before the White Limiya Lord escaped, he severed her arm and made her leave her storage ring behind.

That single action changed everything.

The core inheritance of the Eastern Limiya Gate was inside.

So was the core inheritance of the Western Limiya Gate.

Both Lords had kept the most important possessions of their respective sects within their personal storage rings.

At this time, Saelyr and Neshara thought the battle was finally over.

They approached Varesh, intending to thank him for his timely assistance.

And that was precisely when another person appeared.

The Sun Ocean Lord.

He had been hiding nearby like a ghost.

While Saelyr, Neshara, and Varesh were distracted, he seized the opportunity.

He stole the two storage rings.

More importantly, he took the two core inheritances.

Then he ran.

Aksai’s eyes widened slightly.

"That old fox actually stole such a big loot right from under their noses?"

Apparently, the Sun Ocean Lord had already prepared his escape route.

His territory was located in the Isla Kingdom, and he had established numerous regional traps throughout the surrounding area beforehand.

Those traps delayed Varesh, Saelyr, and Neshara long enough for him to escape.

But the Sun Ocean Lord’s troubles didn’t end there.

A mid-stage imperial Lord named Droven had already been assigned to deal with him.

While the Sun Ocean Lord was fleeing from the three Lords, Droven entered the Isla Kingdom and launched an assault against the Sun Ocean Society.

Unlike the Purple River Lord or the two Limiya Lords, however, the Sun Ocean Lord had no intention of dying for his sect.

His own survival came first.

The moment he sensed the danger, he abandoned his territory. There was no hesitation.

He fled toward the sea accessible from the coastal regions of the Isla Kingdom.

Fortunately for him, he had anticipated the possibility of losing his territory.

He had already emptied the treasury of the Sun Ocean Society.

By the time Droven attacked, there wasn’t much left worth taking.

So the Sun Ocean Lord ran towards the sea without looking back. His plan was to hide in one of the islands in the archipelago before finding a way to escape the chaos engulfing the mainland.

Droven eventually had no choice but to abandon the siege.

He joined Varesh, Saelyr, and Neshara in pursuit of the fleeing Sun Ocean Lord.

The pursuit then continued into the sea.

And eventually the Sun Ocean Lord flew toward the Emerald Cove Island.

"Damn. This is too coincidental. Is it related to me boosting my luck by robbing the Fortune Flames of others?"

Aksai stared at the jade scrolls in his hands.

Everything suddenly made sense.

This was why the Sun Ocean Lord had possessed the core inheritances of the Eastern and Western Limiya Gates.

He had simply stolen them from under the noses of four powerful Lords.

And now...

They had all died.

Aksai couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.

"Whatever... I should be glad for this coincidence no matter if it was natural or something influenced by the Fortune Flames or maybe both."

He carefully stored the two jade scrolls.

At this point, his gains had become almost absurd.

He already possessed the core inheritance of the Purple River Sect.

Now he had the core inheritances of the Eastern and Western Limiya Gates as well. Of course, he had also obtained the core inheritances of the Sun Ocean Society as well.

That meant he had obtained the core inheritances of four out of the five Big Five Sects.

Only one remained.

The Green Glory Sect.

Aksai stared at the three sets of inheritances stored within his collection.

For a moment, he didn’t know whether to laugh or sigh.

He had never deliberately sought out the core inheritances of the Big Five Sects.

Yet somehow, they were gradually falling into his hands one after another.

And if things continued like this...

Aksai had a feeling that he might be able to complete the set. After all, he still had unfinished business with the Green Glory Lord.

***

Aksai immediately ordered Nuri to record the core inheritances of the Sun Ocean Society, Western Limiya Gate, and Eastern Limiya Gate in order to enhance her database.

Nuri started working diligently, processing volumes of information at astonishing speeds.

Time passed like flowing water.

Meanwhile, Aksai didn’t stop after sorting through the Sun Ocean Lord’s belongings.

There were still three more storage rings waiting to be examined.

Droven.

Saelyr.

Neshara.

Aksai picked up the three rings one after another and began going through their contents.

As expected, their belongings were considerably different from those of the native Lords.

There were Spirit Stones, pills, elixirs, talismans, refined materials, spare artifacts, and various resources used by imperial cultivators.

But there was one thing conspicuously absent.

Jade scrolls containing Connate cultivation techniques.

Aksai wasn’t particularly surprised by this.

The imperial factions treated Connate techniques as treasures.

They weren’t the sort of things that every imperial cultivator could casually carry around.

Even members of considerable status usually had to obtain authorization before accessing such inheritances.

When a jade scroll needed to be taken outside the faction’s territory, strict measures were put in place to prevent it from being stolen, copied, or leaked.

Some techniques could only be borrowed for a limited period.

Others had to remain within specially protected locations.

The security measures surrounding them were excessive by the standards of the native cultivators.

But considering what Aksai had learned about Connate cultivation, he understood why.

Kalina and Varesh were exceptions to the rule, not the norm.
