Chapter 2733: Chapter 1848: Pink City (Finish Quickly and Head Up the Mountain)

"That’s the situation."

Duanmu Huai paused the video, sneering as he looked at the soldiers before him, whose expressions varied and could be described as quite complex. Most of the women showed expressions of disgust, while the men seemed almost universally intrigued.

"Now you’ve seen it, this can be considered a variant of the plague..."

"Great Judge, are you sure?"

"Why don’t you explain to me the reason for this large-scale outdoor silver party?"

Duanmu Huai raised an eyebrow and glanced at the questioner, who scratched his head awkwardly and sat back down.

Meanwhile, the others began to discuss in low voices.

"Actually, I think this kind of plague is pretty good."

"Yeah, if I died like that, I probably wouldn’t mind."

"That’s disgusting... you men can’t think of anything else?"

Male soldiers argued that such a good thing is hard to come by, while the female soldiers mostly expressed dislike and disgust. Duanmu Huai wasn’t surprised by this. The reason why Obsessive Sin is easily accepted is that pleasure and joy are inherently pursued by humans.

But this is just the surface; in the game, everyone thought Obsessive Sin was great at first until they delved deeper into it... well, then they understood.

However, Duanmu Huai clearly didn’t plan to ruin their excitement here.

"Anyway, you need to do the same as before, search the entire city for survivors — given the city’s situation, I don’t think there will be many survivors. But it’s not impossible. In short, the precautions are no different from before... what’s the matter?"

Duanmu Huai noticed a female soldier raising her hand and pointed at her.

"Great Judge, can these people still be cured? At least from what I see... aside from their abnormal consciousness, everything else seems normal."

Her words made everyone look towards Duanmu Huai simultaneously. Facing zombies before, everyone knew they couldn’t come back to life. After all, when you see their torn bellies, flowing organs, and broken necks, you realize these zombies have no chance of revival.

But the "zombies" here are evidently not like that, at least they seem to have the possibility of being cured.

"That’s a good question."

Duanmu Huai nodded.

"But unfortunately, no, if you see red-eyed ones, just kill them directly."

"Why, why?"

This answer indeed surprised and baffled the crowd.

"Your thought is theoretically correct; at present, these zombies still have reactions from when they were alive, except for their crazed rationality. So, if you manage to capture some and then research them, you might find antibodies that can cure them and restore them to normal... that’s what you’re thinking, right."

Everyone nodded; Duanmu Huai’s words were exactly what they thought.

"It’s a good idea if this were just a plague."

"?"

"I said this isn’t an ordinary Biochemical Crisis."

Duanmu Huai stared at them.

"This isn’t as simple as a pandemic; you can regard it as witchcraft, a curse. If someone has cursed you to be ill indefinitely, do you think it’s a problem that can be solved simply by injection?"

"..........."

Upon hearing this, everyone fell into silence, while Duanmu Huai shrugged.

"Although the manifestations are different, strictly speaking, these guys are no different from the zombies you’ve encountered before; their souls have been corroded and can no longer be cured. Therefore, the best way is to let their souls return to peace... Alright, prepare for battle!"

"Yes!"

Many didn’t quite understand Duanmu Huai’s words, but under the strict training of the Tribunal, they had learned not to question but to obey orders and act.

Moreover, this time Duanmu Huai himself would also take action.

Ogis, as always, followed him silently and omnipresently, like an ornament on Duanmu Huai’s battle armor. Mary was somewhat reluctant to go, but given her "Secretary" responsibilities, she had to go despite her fear. Mianmu Zuoniao didn’t care at all; she was just excited to kill again.

Lorena, Naruse Mio, Medea, and Alice Phil had no interest in such scenes, so they stayed in the chapel.

Out of habitual consideration, the exterior of the Floating Island created by Naruse Mio resembles the Tribunal’s warship significantly. Except for not having enough Macro Cannons and Light Spears on both sides and the deck being covered in green grass rather than sealed. Therefore, the way to descend from this "warship" is quite simple.

When the warship approaches the city, it lowers its height, then searches for a building, moving closer to the edge of that building, and then extends something like a gangplank to connect itself with the rooftop of that building. Others would then set up a frontline base there and proceed with supply searches and zombie clearing operations.

Following the suggestion of one survivor, Duanmu Huai and the team chose an office building in the side district as their "dock." This is a circular building about five stories high. The reason for choosing this place is that it is relatively remote, without many hormone-triggering human beasts in the spring environment of birdsong and blooming flowers.

According to the survivor, this area was originally planned for development; however, due to a broken financial chain, it became a well-known abandoned development site. Apart from some thugs, nobody would come here. Therefore, there are evidently fewer people here, and, of course, it’s most likely to attract survivors — hmm, but given the city’s situation, it’s hard to say.
