Chapter 2731: Chapter 1846: Miracle

"I’ll leave it to you, go ahead."

Upon hearing Duanmu Huai’s command, Naruse Mio displayed a helpless expression, then knelt on the ground, reaching out her hand to press down on the floor.

"Ah, everyone don’t panic too much, there will be a bit of shaking in a moment, but it’s not a big problem. You can squat down to maintain balance and avoid falling..."

"???"

Upon hearing Naruse Mio’s reassurance, the others were even more perplexed. However, at this moment, Naruse Mio had already closed her eyes.

Then, an unimaginable event happened to all the survivors.

They might never forget this day for the rest of their lives—the earth trembled incessantly, as if a massive earthquake had erupted. The surrounding houses were trembling as well. However, soon after, an even more inexplicable event occurred.

The buildings around began to rotate, twist, and merge. Just like children’s Lego toys, they emitted a tremendous roaring sound, slowly moving and intersecting on the ground. At this moment, the survivors were all clutching their heads, squatting on the ground, scarcely daring to breathe. No one knew what was happening; endless dust obscured the sky, almost covering everything. Even if they wanted to lift their heads to see what was going on, all they could see was a vast, hazy shadow.

The thunderous roar at their ears made hearts race, and the trembling, shaking ground gave a constant illusion of impending overturning. If they hadn’t undergone the Tribunal’s stringent training, they would have already panicked and fled as far as possible. But now, all they could do was squat on the ground, as if facing an erupting earthquake.

After an uncertain amount of time, the trembling gradually ceased, followed by a breeze that swept away the lingering dust. The people cautiously opened their eyes, stood up, and looked around. Then, they widened their eyes in astonishment.

Because everything before them had completely changed.

What appeared before the survivors was an old inn. Although not luxurious, it was comfortable. But now, it had changed drastically—the original four-story building had been replaced by a grand church towering several tens of meters high, and on either side of this church, statues nearly six stories high stood, draped in robes, holding longswords, faces like skulls, standing guard-like on either side of the church.

The wide stone steps spread outward from the entrance, like a carpet welcoming guests. On the firm ground, the emblem of a double-headed eagle soared high, with a central motif of skulls, gears, and a war hammer.

The massive golden doors shut tightly, with the black eye sockets of the skull above seeming to possess sentience, scrutinizing every person who paused before them.

The originally unremarkable buildings around were now completely replaced by Gothic-style, splendid religious architectural groups.

Accompanied by huge banners draping from above and equally massive windows, it must be said that the Imperial architecture style easily triggers people’s fear of large objects from all angles.

"Why is it this again?"

Duanmu Huai looked at the all-too-familiar architecture before him, and uttered a helpless complaint.

"I thought you might have a bit of novelty."

"Because I’m only familiar with this."

Naruse Mio stood up, wiped the sweat off her forehead.

"Such large-scale magic isn’t easy, even if Ms. Frieren taught me creation magic, using it is quite a difficult task, alright."

Indeed, perhaps becoming addicted to dusting off, Naruse Mio, under Frieren’s guidance, also mastered her own human magic system.

It’s just that her magic system is a bit... peculiar.

Duanmu Huai preferred to call it the human dust-off system.

Simply put, as long as there are enough raw materials, Naruse Mio could, like the unlimited resource module in open-world construction games, rearrange and combine them, then create new architectural modules for assembly and use.

So simply put, Naruse Mio recombined the building materials of all the nearby city blocks and reassembled them to create such a church world.

The result resembles the Tribunal’s flagship... Perhaps familiarity is also good.

"My work is done."

"Then it’s our turn next."

Medea and Alice Phil exchanged a glance, then waved to Duanmu Huai.

"Master, we’ll be back soon."

"Hmm, go ahead."

Duanmu Huai waved his hand, and then the two followed Naruse Mio into the church. Only then did Duanmu Huai turn around and look at the survivors who were still standing dumbfounded in the square, yet to regain their composure.

"Alright, stop dazing around."

Duanmu Huai’s roar jolted the almost paralyzed survivors awake, and they hurriedly stood up, instinctively forming orderly rows.

"I believe you all know the Tribunal’s responsibilities—to protect humans at any cost and eliminate threats that endanger humanity. Now, the time for action is upon us. You must be prepared to defend this human fortress. Remember, this is your duty and your mission!"

As he spoke, Duanmu Huai coldly scanned the crowd once more—if not for Ogis yawning tiredly on his shoulder, Duanmu Huai’s figure would be quite intimidating.

"Lumiaire has already input all necessary information into the Mecha Servant here. Should you have any concerns, consult the Mecha Servant and the Servo Skull. Now, attention, dismissed!"

After delivering these words, Duanmu Huai turned and walked into the church, while the others took quite some time to regain their composure.

Soon after, they descended into chaos.

"A miracle, this is a miracle!"

Someone dropped to their knees and shrieked loudly, while others clasped their hands together, closed their eyes, and murmured prayers—then realizing they were reciting the wrong words, quickly shut their mouths. As for the rest, they were utterly bewildered by the scene, unable to believe their eyes.

This was understandable, for people in this world lived amidst scientific concepts; religion, magic, and witchcraft were merely fantasy elements found in novels, movies, and games. Especially after the apocalypse, people split into two camps.

One camp firmly believed there were no deities in this world; otherwise, they wouldn’t let humanity perish.

The other camp believed this was divine punishment for humans, causing them to believe in God’s existence all the more.

Even among the survivors who joined the Tribunal, many questioned its essence. While they witnessed Medea and Alice Phil occasionally using Healing Spells, these survivors preferred to see them as mutations—just like in novels where certain characters could use special abilities like superpower users after contracting a plague.

In these survivors’ view, the Tribunal was likely such an organization, comprised of individuals mutated from the plague, possessing special abilities, including Duanmu Huai (incidentally, they surmised that Duanmu Huai’s imposing appearance was due to viral mutation).

Hence, many survivors believed the Tribunal was a group of superpower users mutated after contracting the plague. To them, whether it was Medea and Alice Phil’s magic, Lorena’s extraordinary strength, or Nemume Satori’s unusual physical responses, it was all part of these mutations.

Some even pretended to submit to the Tribunal while secretly uncovering the mysteries behind their mutations, hoping to transform themselves into equally formidable beings.

But now, their thoughts were forced to change.

If Naruse Mio was simply controlling or destroying a building, it would be no big deal. However, erasing a preexisting building and creating an entirely new one—that they didn’t even understand the principle behind it—imagined opening and closing your eyes to find everything familiar around you has radically changed. The feeling was overwhelming.

Soon, they would realize things were far more exaggerated than they had imagined.

"Boom boom boom———"

Not long after, the ground vibrated once more, causing the survivors to grow cautious again. Someone gathered their courage and ran to the platform nearby, gazing forward. Then, he let out a shout of surprise.

"Come quickly! We are moving ahead!"

"???"

Upon hearing a survivor’s call, the others were puzzled but rushed to the observation platform across the plaza, looking ahead.

And once more, they were dumbfounded.

Earlier, the drastic changes around them had made them overlook one detail—their current position seemed much higher than usual. Now, standing on the observation platform, they clearly witnessed this scene—a street centered around the church was floating above the city, moving slowly like a massive Floating Island.

Upon seeing this, everyone was stunned.

Could this truly... be a miracle?

If you asked Duanmu Huai, he would naturally call it a miracle—after all, this plan was propelled by his Divine Power. When divine power is used to move a Floating Island, calling it a miracle isn’t incorrect, is it?

This was Duanmu Huai’s plan. As the Corrupted Foil remained hidden from sight, he decided to gather people as he proceeded directly to the heart of the cesspool.

As for rules? What a joke, having corrupted the entire world, who would speak of rules?

Right now, Duanmu Huai was like someone driving an RV into a stranger’s home uninvited—clearly, this Floating Island was Duanmu Huai’s Divine Realm. Whether the Corrupted Foil would welcome this uninvited guest was not Duanmu Huai’s concern.

He only sought the fastest way to charge forth and deal a blow to that corrupt sloth.
