A Bumpy Road to Power
Chapter 1050 - 1050
"Aren't you going to give me a kiss?"
Dirk Carter playfully asked Thea Sykes.
Thea Sykes shook her head fearfully, saying, "I dare not. Last time, you said if I teased you again, I'd have to pay the price. I'm scared."
"Hahaha..."
Dirk Carter burst into laughter.
He stepped away from Mona.
Walked towards Nancy Sharp's direction.
Nancy Sharp thought Dirk Carter wanted a kiss too and became a bit flustered.
Stammered, "Dirk... Secretary General Carter, if you need, I... I can accompany you tonight..."
"You misunderstood."
Dirk Carter waved his hand.
Took her hand and let her sit down.
"Brent Lowell has been caught, and we'll be investigating Polly Linden's case next. I'm here to ask you if you want a makeover and a fresh start?"
"A fresh start? Go back to the dance troupe?"
Nancy Sharp asked.
Dirk Carter smiled and shook his head.
He said, "Going back to the dance troupe wouldn't be a fresh start. You're very beautiful, your figure is outstanding, and you act well. I have a place to recommend to you; if you're willing, you can go there tomorrow."
"Where?"
Nancy Sharp asked somewhat apprehensively.
Dirk Carter solemnly said, "The entertainment industry!"
"The entertainment industry? I... I can't do it, that's... that's not a place people like us can just enter..."
To Nancy Sharp, entering the entertainment industry seemed too extravagant.
Dirk Carter took out a business card and stuffed it into her hand.
Said, "These aren't worries for you. Think about it. If you decide to, call the person on the card. She'll arrange everything for you."
Nancy Sharp looked down.
Exclaimed, "Lanfar Media? The one where the famous Corrine Quance is? This card... Gold Medal Agent Catherine Sawyer, oh my..."
Mona also sat down beside Nancy Sharp.
Patted her waist.
Said, "Nancy, we all believe in you. With your conditions, you'll surely become a big star someday."
Nancy Sharp looked uncertainly towards Thea Sykes.
Thea Sykes smiled and said, "I agree with Mona. If you start acting in movies, I'll definitely buy a ticket to watch."
Everyone's eyes were filled with encouragement.
Suddenly.
An overwhelming sense of gratitude rose from deep inside.
Nancy Sharp nodded heavily.
To Dirk Carter, she said, "Okay, Dirk... Dirk, tomorrow I'll call the agent. I'll listen to you, thank you, Dirk, you're the one who gave me rebirth. And thank you all, you're my saviors."
The last part was meant for Thea Sykes and Mona.
"No, you should thank yourself. It was your courage that redeemed you; you deserve this."
Dirk Carter encouragingly said.
Then.
He looked at Mona.
Said, "On the way back, I reported this situation to your dad; he wants you to go back tomorrow. Don't worry, when this case comes out, I'll make sure you get the first-hand information. You'll be the one to publish this report."
"Okay."
Mona nodded solemnly.
Suddenly, her eyes became a bit wet.
"Why are you crying?"
Dirk Carter asked.
Thea Sykes laughed awkwardly and said, "Isn't it obvious? Thinking about separating from you makes me feel bad."
"Don't talk nonsense."
Mona shyly hit Thea Sykes in mock anger.
Dirk Carter didn't dwell on this.
Stood up and went upstairs.
When he came back down, he held a black plastic bag.
Judging by the shape, it looked like it contained stacks of cash.
He directly handed the plastic bag to Thea Sykes.
Said, "This is your reward."
Known for her love of money, Thea Sykes didn't hold back this time either.
Taking the plastic bag, she cheerfully said, "Thanks, Secretary General Carter, for the tip."
"Don't joke around. I don't know you well, haven't checked your background, but I know deep down you're a good person. Little mischief is fine, but don't go down the wrong path."
Dirk Carter advised earnestly.
Thea Sykes stood up quickly and dismissively said, "Alright, alright, so annoying, I hate lectures the most. Since there's nothing more, I'm leaving. These days have been stifling; I need to go out and have fun."
After finishing.
Said goodbye to Nancy Sharp and Mona individually.
Walked to the door, suddenly paused.
Turned back and spoke to the three watching her, "Oh, I forgot to tell you, my real name is Thea Sykes, 'Thea' from commonplace, and 'Sykes' as in void."
After that.
She swaggered out the door.
"She's a woman with stories."
Once Thea Sykes's figure disappeared.
Mona murmured.
Nancy Sharp nodded in agreement.
Said, "Behind a free life, there are probably tears..."
"Alright, since the two of you are leaving tomorrow and it's getting late, get some rest early."
Finally, things were resolved here.
Dirk Carter let out a long sigh and stood up.
Walked towards his bedroom.
Half an hour later.
Dirk Carter just finished showering and came out of the bathroom.
He was drying his hair with a towel.
Then suddenly a figure appeared in the room, startling him.
Upon closer inspection.
Standing at the bedside was Mona.
At this moment, she was wrapped in a robe, her eyes as soft as water, standing still.
"Mona? What are you doing? Why haven't you rested yet? Is something wrong?"
Dirk Carter asked.
Only to see Mona suddenly reach for the robe belt at her waist.
Whoosh.
The robe opened to both sides.
Dirk Carter was stunned.
Because he saw, inside Mona's robe, she was actually naked.
Then.
The robe slipped off her shoulders.
The intriguing "beautiful scenery" now was fully presented before him.
Her ample bosom.
Her flat, perfectly toned waist.
And those long, white legs, along with the dense forest in between.
Such a scene.
He had seen it before in the dimly lit room back on Willow Lane.
Except it wasn't as clear in the dark.
Now, under the bright lights, it had a breathtaking beauty.
Mona didn't speak.
She barefootedly stepped on the floor.
Gracefully walked over to Dirk Carter.
Then pressed the softness against him, both arms tightly wrapping around his waist.
"What's... what's going on?"
Dirk Carter asked, bewildered.
"You know about my matters with Braulio Golding, don't you?"
Face pressed against Dirk Carter's chest, Mona softly asked.
"Hmm, yes."
Dirk Carter responded.
Mona raised her head, stared at Dirk Carter's face, and asked, "Do you despise me?"
"Despise? How could I? You... don't overthink it..."
Dirk Carter stammered.
Mona took a deep breath.
Reached behind Dirk Carter, at the spot where the towel knot was.
Gently flicked with her fingers.
The towel was unfastened and fell to the ground.
In other words, Dirk Carter now was as bare as she was.
