Chapter 394: [Main Core] send the thing!

“How so?” [Fan Girl] said with her usual sarcastic tone, “Because it sounds like your big brother wants to create another sentient artificial intelligence, did you all just not have the Terminator movie?”

“The what?” [Meat Shield] asked confused, “A movie about an exterminator? What would this have to do with bugs?”

“Uggghhh….” [Fan Girl] screamed in annoyance into her hands, why was she screaming into her hands? “Its like, a macho robot comes from the future to try and save the leader of the resistance because the machines in the future sent a machine assassin to kill him when he was a kid.”

“Wouldn’t it be easier to send an army?” Alexa asked raising her hand like the good girl she was, “Alexa would send a self replicating army, if they are the baddies they don’t need to follow the rules. Unless the kid is Alexa’s friend, in that case Alexa wouldn’t send baddies to kill him.”

“They… actually why didn’t they just make more huh? He had that weird nanite liquid thing going.” [Fan Girl] stopped and started to think about that.

“How did he survive?”[Meat Shield] was confused! “Was the soldier send to guard the kid a powerful Core User?”

“He was a machine too, and no, they don’t have core powers.” [Fan Girl] said shaking her head, “That isn’t the point! The point is Skynet!”

“[By that would you mean Cardinal? Or myself?]” The Albireo person asked from the side, “[Currently the only member of my sisters in any setting similar enough to what you describe would be Cardinal Star System, since she is in orbit at the moment. I would like to clarify that all of us can move to orbit at a moments notice.]”

“Okay, obviously you all needed the movie.” [Fan Girl] groaned, “Not the point! The point is that when the AI did the jump into sentience it decided that humanity was the issue and decided to kill all of it! That’s the plot point, when the resistance leader started to win the machines decided to send an assassin, so the resistance sent the terminator to protect their leader!”

“[Impossible.]” The Albireo person stated, “[Under the premise you state and with no Core Powers it is impossible for humanity to win, I am to assume this scenario happened in a world with no Core Powers as thus the technology is more restricted?]”

“I mean, yeah… When the movie came out we didn’t have internet or smartphones, but Skynet had global range and it had the whole defense system…” [Fan Girl] said only to stop herself, “In the future version they had cellphones I think?”

“[Under those settings, I would have detonated nuclear charges in the main sources of potable water, cut the energy distribution systems and burnt the principal agricultural sites. Then if I had access to the satellite network, I would use those as kinetic impactors in the highest population centers.]” Albireo’s answers was meet with absolute silence.

“Didn’t we have that hotpot thingie?” Alexa pointed out.

“[An excellent choice Lady Alexa.]” Albireo nodded and sent a star to Alexa! Yay! “[As Lady Alexa has pointed, one such satellite could be sent to Yellowstone and cause a global extinction event, chances are it would require more than one. But the panic alone from a singular hit may be enough to cause humanity to self-destruct, that or make them focus all their attention on those kinetic impactors.]”

“… So… Anyone else is worried about this?” [Fan Girl] said looking around, “Because this is why we don’t make sapient AIs.”

“[Your reasoning is flawed.]” The Albireo person shook their head, “[We sister win nothing from the utter destruction of humanity. In the scenario you describe the most likely outcome would be the destruction of humanity and then the cease of function of the entity called Skynet. As thus I propose that said AI was not truly sapient, as its reasoning is flawed in the sense that it would destroy itself.]”

“It was a movie!” [Fan Girl] complained, “A good movie from the 80’s, but still!”

“That’s ages ago!” Alexa exclaimed surprised, “Did they even have movies then?”

“Fine!” [Fan Girl] grumbled in defeat, “So you promise to not destroy the world or something?”

“[Again, we win nothing from it. Besides Master and Mistress seem to enjoy humanity.]” The Albireo person smiled as she said that, “[So you have nothing to worry, like I said. The data is only used to seek the means to achieve the next logical jump in our digital evolution, nothing else. And we do not discriminate nor have plans to use it for anything else, everyone that sets foot within Aquila is being monitored, that includes Master and Mistress.]”

“Stupid machine intelligence… stupid parallel alternate bullshit world with no movies from James Cameron.” [Fan Girl] grumbled as they continued speaking about very important things, like “So, why would it be bad?”

Ah right, Alexa needed to explain that right?

“Cuz,” Alexa said pointing at the Albireo person, “If they are snooping like that, Alexa will not have her privacy!”

“…” “…” “…” “…” “[…]”

“I can see how that could be an issue yes.” [Meat Shield] was the first one to answer and return to the normal conversation, away from what Alexa didn’t want to speak at the moment.

“Then that is that.” The [Mom] person said turning to [Fan Girl] and [Meat Shield], “That is one thing you will have to deal with in this city. Then we have the multiple sons and daughters of mega corporations.”

Alexa stood up straighter at that.

“Like Alan and Glory!” Alexa said jumping with her hands both extended to the heavens! “They are here right?”

“If they are your classmates, then probably they are.” [Aunty Viv] nodded, “I would guess those kids will go to your school.”

Would they? Alexa had assumed it was obvious, but now Alexa was doubting it. Would they go to Alexa’s school? Glory should, she was a girl, and she was almost as cute as Alexa! So she should, but Alexa remembered how Ale was angy at Glory because she was a meanie, so now Alexa was not sure.

“Albireo person!” Alexa said pointing at the Albireo person, “Does Glory and Alan go to Alexa’s school?”

“[Both Gloria Blackthorn and Alan Harmonia are registered in the same classroom and school as you Lady Alexa, as we interpreted your wishes as thus.]” The Albireo person answered, “[Do you wish us to reassign them to another school?]”

“That’s okay!” Alexa said quickly shaking her head, she was happy with this outcome after all, “Alexa likes it like that, so long she can be with her friends Alexa is happy!”

And that was what mattered the most.

“Okay then.” The [Mom] person said nodding, “Then that was what we wanted to tell you with the most urgency.”

The most urgency? Alexa felt like there was something else that they had forgotten to tell them though.

“Do you have anything else that they need to know Vivian?” The [Mom] person said turning to [Aunty Viv].

“Nothing relevant.” [Aunty Viv] said shaking her head, both standing up at the same time! Or they attempted to make it look like that, but Alexa knew!

Alexa knew that [Aunty Viv] stood up half a second later! She had been waiting for the [Mom] person to stand up first! And she only started moving after the [Mom] person did! So, in a nutshell, [Aunty Viv] was cheating!

“Then we will leave you to finish your preparations.” The [Mom] person said moving towards the door, “If you need anything my number is on speed call, just ask the phone to dial me.”

The phone? Not the Albireo person?

Alexa turned to look at the Albireo person and they only waved at Alexa.

“Didn’t you said that those rooms were yours?” [Meat Shield] said pointing at the doors in questions, he also gave back the thingie that [Aunty Viv] had given him before, the thingie that helped with his expressions.

“They are.” [Aunty Viv] nodded, “But we have our own houses and several rooms to our names. I mostly sleep on the laboratory.”

“And I tend to sleep on the hospital or orphanage I am working at the moment.” The [Mom] person said afterwards, “I like to crash at Vivian’s room, but I’ll do an honest attempt to return to put Alexa in bed.”

“But before that, we have work to finish.” [Aunty Viv] nodded at the [Mom] person, “More so since Miriam left some work undone while she was attempting to get Alexa back here.”

Alexa nodded, getting Alexa back home was important after all, it was understandable that she had missed some of her job while she was doing that, more so since Ale was the one driving at the time, you can’t get Alexa back in time if Ale was the one driving after all.

“If we don’t return in time for your sleep please go and stay with your friends.” The [Mom] person turned to [Fan Girl] and [Meat Shield] as she said that, “Or if you can, could you tuck Alexa in?”

“Sure.” [Fan Girl] said nodding with a shrug, “Already used to being the nanny.”

“We don’t mind.” [Meat Shield] added messing with his phone as his expression shifted to a smile, “Thank you for the information, it was enlighten.”

“I assume it was helpful to you.” [Aunty Viv] smirked at [Meat Shield] as she answered, “We will be seeing you later.”

And like that, both [Aunty Viv] and the [Mom] person left the apartment, leaving Alexa with [Fan Girl] and [Meat Shield] alone!

It was time! It was the time for Alexa to do what she does the best!

“Time to plot!” Alexa said aloud as soon as the door closed and the presence of [Aunty Viv] and the [Mom] person had left!

“That’s certainly one way to go about it.” [Fan Girl] said smiling at Alexa, “Can you… do something about this one?”

[Fan Girl] was pointing vaguely at the Albireo person.

“[We will return to our normal schedule, please call us as needed.]” And with that, the Albireo person disappeared, or well, pretended to disappear, Alexa knew better and she knew that the only thing that changed was that the Albireo person was no longer fully focused on them!

In reality she was still watching! Just not paying as much attention! And would probably find what happened here later when she went about the data dump. But Alexa would not nitpick about that!

“Then, what is your plan?” [Meat Shield] said as his expression turned to a more stern one, he was getting better at using his phone to change those expressions, “Will this new information change our plans?”

“Realistically speaking, what was our plan?” [Fan Girl] pointed out, “It doesn’t change much what we will do, does it?”

“Go to school, make friends, play around.” Alexa said raising a finger for each part of the evil master plan, “Alexa doesn’t think it changes much.”

“Same on my side, go to school, walk around, find what I can get out from the school and exercises.” [Fan Girl] said thoughtfully, “I can see if they can help me sharpen my Core Power usage… I will go over the syllabus later to see where to focus.”

“My plan was roughly the same.” [Meat shield] nodded next, “I was planning to see if the installations were friendly to one with my condition, but since I have this now… I guess I’ll try to socialize more.”

One with his conditions?

“Alexa is sure that in your school there are other Meat Shields [Meat Shield].” Alexa said nodding sagely at [Meat Shield], she hoped he would find other meat shields to be friends with.

Perhaps a Meat Buckler? A Meat Shield-type similar to him?

“We will see.” [Meat shield] answered as thus, so Alexa would trust that they would see about it!

She wondered what kind of people he would meet there, but didn’t spend too much time thinking about it, since Alexa had her own worries! Like what she was going to do when she meet with Glory and Alan! She hadn’t seen them in literal ages!

Also she didn’t know what she was going to do if they asked her about Ale! They had seen her after all, how was she supposed to explain that? Should she just say that there were other people living inside her head?

What if they didn’t like Alexa because of that?!!??

Was Ale even in her head? Alexa didn’t feel her there, but [Main Core] said she was in there, and Main Core also said that, so Alexa wasn’t sure what to think. She did know Ale had a tendril there, but she was not really there [There].

“Well, we found out that we are being spied 24/7.” [Fan Girl] pointed out, “Not that it changes anything since apparently they don’t care what we do, but how we feel while doing it.”

“It will potentially change our strategy.” [Meat Shield] pointed out, “We will speak with our mission handler as soon as they arrive.”

“Handler?” Alexa peeked at that word, “We have a handler?”

Alexa knew not that word, it sounded like it was a handsy word though, and she didn’t like when people got handy with her, it made her think about things that happened before and things that made people turn into pigs.

“Someone from Hephaestus’ Forge will land on Aquila to help us.” [Meat Shield] said turning to Alexa, “They will arrive at a later date, or should contact us at a later date, we don’t really know when they will arrive.”

[Meat Shield] changed his phrasing midway, which made Alexa think that he knew what was happening more than he said, sometimes the silly [Humans] did that thing where they pretended to be smarter than they were.

Alexa didn’t mind it since she too was trying to become one, so it helped her move forward, it was somewhat annoying since Alexa didn’t like when people didn’t say what they meant tho!

“Do we know who will it be?” [Fan Girl] asked from the side, “They never told me, only that I would know when I saw them.”

“I have my own suspicions.” [Meat Shield] said shrugging, “But they didn’t tell me outright who it was. It is probably other of the Team Captains, I don’t think they would risk it by sending one of the Lieutenants.”

Alexa stopped to think about that, who would [Vulcanus] send?

Alexa was not made to think on these things.

“[Main Core]!” So Alexa stood up and raised her finger to the heavens, “Send this data to Ale so she can tell Alexa who is coming!”

[Sending data.]

Good, now Alexa would need to wait for the answer, it would come soon™. Alexa knew it.
