Chapter 347: Dinner time!

“Dinner!” Alexa said happily as she jumped around the table, “Dinner!”

They were about to have dinner! Alexa would get to eat with her [Family] in a happy table! They would have a happy meal!

“Alexa, go and wash your hands first.” The [Mom] person said as a [Mom] person should!

“Alexa will wash her hands!” So Alexa did as was expected of her and dashed toward the bathroom! Alexa knew that one should always wash their hands in the bathroom after all!

But it was there that Alexa found her first greatest enemy the water faucet was too tall! And Alexa was too small!

“Halp!” Alexa couldn’t help but scream to the heavens for this was injustice brought upon her! This was an obvious ply by her enemies! A ploy against the lovers of all that was good and glorious! A ploy made by The Stroberri Association!

“What happened?! Did the mercenaries infiltrate the apartment?!?” [Fan Girl] teleported besides Alexa with her full body armor on and ready to fight against the evil ploys of the stroberri association!

“Alexa has been trapped into an insidious plot by the stroberri association!” Alexa quickly said, hoping [Fan Girl] would help her get over this most insidious ploy! “Alexa can’t wash her hands because the water is too tall for Alexa!”

“…” [Fan Girl]’s figure shone in green light as her armor and thingies disappeared, her body returning to her normal clothes, “False alarm, you can stop pulling rocks.”

“You sure?” The voice of [Meat Shield] came from the other side of the apartment, Alexa peeked and noticed that [Meat shield] had a hand outside the window, “Don’t scare us like that.”

And with that said, [Fan Girl] turned to look at Alexa and sigh.

“So, what’s this ploy you speak about.” [Fan Girl] seemed tired, but even if she was tired, couldn’t she use her wind powers to see the obvious issue here?

“This.” Alexa said extending her hands forward, touching the thingie in front of her.

[Structure analyzed, marble, wood, piping, electric wiring…]

Main Core started listing what the water thingie was made off, but Alexa dismissed the message, she was busy! Pointing at the fact that she was in a bathroom for tall people! And she was small!

“Alexa can’t wash her hands, this bathroom was modified to work against Alexa!” Alexa said it aloud since [Fan Girl] didn’t seem to get it.

“… You gotta be kidding me.” [Fan Girl] sighed and kneeled besides Alexa, she extended her hand forward and pulled something from under the water thingie, “Yup, there it is.”

It was… the most glorious thing ever, the strategy that was no doubt something made by the Mango Association! The symbol of justice and everything that was good! The ultimate arch nemesis of the stroberri association!

“With this you can wash your hands.” [Fan Girl] said standing up, “Don’t forget to put the stool down there, I doubt anyone will trip with it, but if Ed goes comes here and doesn’t see it he may break it.”

“Alexa will take great care of [The Stool].” Alexa nodded as fast as she could, and to make sure she was nodding as fast as possible she went as far as removing the bones in her throat so her head would bounce faster!

“Then wash your hands.” [Fan Girl] didn’t say anything about Alexa’s nodding, so weird, “I’ll be at the table.”

“Alexa has triumphed over you!” Alexa said proudly as she stood on the stool and was able to see her reflection smiling back at her! “Hi!”

She did the sensible thing and waved at herself, and her reflection waved back, so polite!

“The Stroberri Association plans have been foiled, muahahahaha.” So Alexa declared as she opened the faucet and started washing her hands.

Alexa did all the steps as they were meant to be made, she grabbed soap, she started rubbing her hands and making soap, she scrubbed as well as she could and ensured no dirt or trash was left under her nails!

Then when she was done, she washed the soap away and turned to the towel! Alexa knew the towel was hers because not only was Alexa sized, it also had a Mango on it!

Alexa would nom on that mango later.

Once that was a done deal she scanned her hands with a wave of nanites to ensure they were clean and made sure to remove anything that wasn’t meant to be there, with a good job done Alexa stepped down from the stool and pushed it gently to its den.

It would be safe and would no doubt start its own resting cycle. Alexa hoped it had nice dreams while resting. But she had more important things to do now!

So Alexa dashed!

She ran as fast as it was possible for Alexakin!

Alexa ran so fast that she arrived at the dining table the next second! Some people would say that it was so fast, almost as if she had left a bathroom into the dining room! And they would be using a very good example! Because it was indeed almost as fast as that example!

“Alexa?” The [Mom] person turned just in time as Alexa was slowing down her approach, “You can sit here, I set up a booster chair for you.”

The [Mom] person was pointing at a cute chair that had its own chair already sitting there! But it did indeed have Alexa’s name on it, so Alexa’s chair had its own chair? Chairception!

“Okay!” Alexa said walking to the chairception, when she was besides that the [Mom] person lifted Alexa and sat her on the doble chair! Alexa sat so well that she sat in two chairs at the same time!

Admire Alexa’s might! For she can sit in a chair sitting in a chair!

“Do you want juice?” The [Mom] person asked, but she was already setting Alexa’s sippy cup in front of Alexa!

“Yes!” So Alexa answered and took hold of her sippy cup, it had already the nectar of the gods on it, it had Alexa’s Mango juice.

“So, school.” The [Mom] person said sitting besides Alexa, she had set up a plate of food in front of Alexa and put Alexa’s spork there.

The [Mom] person truly knew Alexa the best! Or well, almost as well as [Big Brother] knew Alexa! But that was understandable, she was the [Mom] person after all, everyone knew that [Mom]s had this kind of power.

“Schools, plural.” [Fan Girl] said pointing at Alexa with a fork. Alexa couldn’t help but smirk, such weak instrument, it could only do one job, not like Alexa’s spork that could do many jobs at the same time, “Ed is going to one, I am going to another, Alexa is going to kindergarten and Ale is going to a middle school. We all are going to different places.”

“The main issue is the same.” The [Mom] person said, “You are aware of the rules?”

“The credit thing?” [Fan Girl] shrugged, “Yeah, we were going to poll our resources, but Alexanders got us an apartment, so that is moot point.”

“That will still deduct you points, so you may still need to do that.” [Aunty Viv] said as she sat, placing a holotablet on the table, “There should be a touchpad somewhere in there that will have your rent and due day, you can use that to pay or have it automatically deduct rent.”

“…Of course.” [Fan Girl] nodded, “I half expected you to tell us some secret since you were saying something about the schools, but if it’s that we already have that data.”

“The school wars?” The [Mom] person asked next.

“Already aware yes, we talked about this.” [Fan Girl] said frowning, “We did right?”

“That we did.” [Meat Shield] nodded.

“The reason of the school system?” The [Mom] person asked next.

“Some weird experiment from the Saintsworths, and a dick measuring contest among the high council or something right?” [Fan Girl] answered, “We are doing a recount or something? Or is this casual talk?”

“Making sure.” The [Mom] person shrugged as she answered, “Also Alexa was not present in those discussion, it was Ale.”

“Alexa knows what happened so its okay.” Alexa said helpfully while shoving half the food of her plate into her mouth, “Alexa doesn’t mind the thingies that happen in the school, they can’t affect Alexa anyway.”

“Also…” The [Mom] person looked around, “Can we get some privacy? Albireo?”

There was no answer. Of course there wouldn’t be, the Albireo person wasn’t supposed to answer to the [Mom] person! It was supposed to only answer to [Big Brother] and Alexa!

So Alexa nodded sagely at the thingie for knowing its place.

“Is it broken?” [Fan Girl] asked confused, “Alexa, can you check?”

“It’s working fine.” Alexa said taking a sip from her sippy cup, “The Albireo person knows its job.”

“So… is it giving us privacy?” [Meat Shield] asked, he had not touched his food, since he was a rock, and everyone knew that rocks didn’t eat.

“… No?” Alexa said confused, why would it give them that? “Do we need it?”

“Please Alexa.” The [Mom] person said joining both her hands in the prayer emote.

“Fineeeee…” Alexa said grumbling, “Albireo person, do what the [Mom] person asked for this one time.”

“[As you wish Alexa.]” The Albireo person answered and Alexa saw the recorder thingies turn off one by one, now [Big Brother] would miss what they were about to say! How was he supposed to enjoy the show if they weren’t letting them record it!

Rude! They were being rude!

“There is some kind of Memetic effect spreading around the outside world, and for some reason that does not work within certain places.” The [Mom] person said looking around, as if someone could catch what she was saying, “We are in one of those places.”

“… No shit sherlock.” [Fan Girl] said blowing some of her hair to the side, “What are the other places?”

“Antarctica.” [Aunty Viv] answered, “To be precise, it’s a certain set of coordinates within the Antarctic circle, a singular spot near the core of the planet should be one and finally a cavern system that spans a part of the outer core of the planet.”

“… Not a single normal site huh.” [Fan Girl] said with a small laughter, it sounded like a nervous laughter to Alexa tho.

“So that’s why they wanted to set up this city in the Antarctic Circle?” [Meat Shield] pointed, “Did they somehow end up hitting another spot by accident then?”

“Nope.” Alexa helpfully corrected [Meat Shield], “The effect moved here because [Big Brother] set up his city here. The effect didn’t happen there so they would build the thing there, but happened there because the thing was supposed to be built there.”

“Hah?” [Fan Girl] seemed confused at that. “Wait, you are saying that since your brother built his city here, the effect moved here?”

“Yes!” Alexa nodded, the [Fan Girl] was so smart sometimes! “But since the lab was built there once, the effect remained there. It will go away if they build something else though.”

Since then, it would no longer be a place where [Big Brother]’s city was build.

“How do you know that?” [Aunty Viv] suddenly said.

Oh right… how did Alexa know that?

“I dunno.” Alexa shrugged, no longer interested in the topic, “It sounds right, and like something [Big Brother] would do, so it probably is right.”

“Maybe this is also an after effect of the memetic effect dispelling.” The [Mom] person suddenly said. “Some people can come to certain conclusions when they are free from that.”

“So what? That was something Alexa was supposed to known, so now that she isn’t under the… no wait. What the hell is memetic? Is that even a word?” [Fan Girl] was about to say something when she stopped herself and pointed the weird word.

“Imagine it like some kind of disease, but instead of affecting the physical body it affects the metaphysical body.” The [Mom] person started explaining, “We don’t know how it is being spread, but we know it affects people and stops them from arriving to certain conclusions. There are people who is immune to it.”

“Like Alexa!” Alexa chimed in!

“And there are people who is more susceptible to it.” [Aunty Viv] added, ignoring Alexa.

“Who are immune to it, what rules do this disease use to propagate?” [Meat Shield] asked, “I assume my condition would make me immune, but I haven’t noticed people behaving weirdly.”

“No, quite the opposite.” [Aunty Viv] shook her head, “You are more susceptible to it because of your condition.”

“I have no biological parts.” [Meat Shield] pointed out. “How could I be more susceptible to this pathogen?”

“Because it isn’t a pathogen.” [Aunty Viv] answered, “The means it uses to propagate are not biological.”

“Its mana!” Alexa helpfully helped! “The thingie you say uses Mana to spread.”

“Correct.” [Aunty Viv] nodded, Alexa had been right!

“But Alexa hasn’t seen anything weird in anyone.” Alexa said confused, “Is it really affecting people?”

Alexa had a few blueprints stored of other people but she didn’t found anything weird before.

“[Main Core], did we found something like [Aunty Viv] and the [Mom] person say?” Alexa asked aloud to [Main Core].

“[Negative, only instance of a Sick was: Anime.]” [Main Core] answered, oh right, that was a thing that happened… Ale was the one that was researching on that front, so Alexa didn’t need to check on it, wonder if Ale managed to weaponize it or not?

“And the people who is immune are those attacked by [The Scrambler].” [Fan Girl] suddenly said.

“Correct.” [Aunty Viv] nodded, “The people who is currently under the influence of [The Teather Master] are also immune, but you need to be continuously under his effect to retain the immunity, while those affected by [The Scrambler] can keep said immunity longer… As you probably know.”

“… I thought it was some kind of weird quirk of people.” [Fan Girl] said sighing, “Some weird social rule I didn’t know because I didn’t grow here.”

“You had noticed?” [Meat Shield] seemed surprise, “Even in me?”

“Its like… People do these weird logic jumps sometimes, they don’t notice obvious stuff in the weirdest places…” [Fan Girl] pointed at Alexa, “Like how when… Oh… Oh…”

“Precisely.” [Aunty Viv] said nodding, “We noticed it too, the effects usually surround Saintsworths or people that work for them.”

“Not always people that work for them.” The [Mom] person helpfully added, “But people who could have been working for them, or people that could thrive under them.”

“So not all are working for the Saintsworths.” [Fan Girl] seemed convinced by that weird thing.

Alexa was not of course, it sounded too convenient, the [World] didn’t work like that, that would be dumb!

“There are some examples of people like that.” [Aunty Viv] pointed at Alexa again, “Like the principal of her school. He is surrounded by convenient situations that would make him climb the Saintsworths job list in record time if he ever applied. But instead he ignores those options and continues doing his own thing.”

“But he is a pig tho.” Alexa pointed, “It would be weird if he ended like a manager of some secret underground black site weapon laboratories.”

That would be weird right? Alexa was not the weird one by pointing that Mister Pig was a Pig, right?
