Chapter 21: Chapter 21: She Is the True Queen of Wild Children

Fu Xiaoxiao saw the treasure and went forward to pick the ones that were sticking out.

"Good stuff, I’ll make you soup with this tonight. It’s really fresh." Fu Xiaoxiao picked a little and then stopped, gently turning over the moist soil next to them to give them more space.

"Aren’t there many more? Are you not going to pick them all?" Lu Chen pointed beside Fu Xiaoxiao, indicating there were many more.

"We’ll come back to pick them when we want to eat. This is enough for a meal, let them grow a bit more." Fu Xiaoxiao tapped Lu Chen’s nose. "We’ll store these here for now, and come back when they’re a little bigger."

Lu Chen and Lu Lin nodded.

"How did you do it before?" Fu Xiaoxiao asked curiously.

"Dried them and gave them to Grandpa, who would store them." Lu Lin answered.

"So you come to the back hill every day to pick herbs?" Fu Xiaoxiao watched Lu Lin skilfully search for herbs; Lu Chen didn’t recognize as many as his brother, asking Lu Lin whenever he saw similar herbs before digging them up if Lu Lin nodded.

"Yeah." Lu Chen nodded and continued looking for herbs.

Fu Xiaoxiao didn’t disturb them, just quietly strolled around the back hill herself.

The dense back hill was indeed rich in resources; wandering casually in the woods, Fu Xiaoxiao saw plenty of fruit trees, no wonder the two children managed to survive on the wild fruits from the back hill.

Standing under a pear tree, looking at the ripe wild pears above, Fu Xiaoxiao’s eyes lit up.

Seeing that there was no one around, Fu Xiaoxiao grabbed a nearby branch with her hands, exerting force, gracefully flipped herself up, and stood on the branch.

Fu Xiaoxiao leisurely sat on the branch, swinging her legs, casually picking wild pears from the pear tree nearby, wiped their skin, and began munching away.

"Really sweet."

The familiar environment reminded Fu Xiaoxiao of her past life. At five years old in her previous life, she had been thrown into the countryside by her parents and raised by her grandmother. Her grandmother was old and couldn’t work, so Fu Xiaoxiao had to shoulder the responsibility of feeding her grandmother, running to the back hill every day to avoid starvation for both of them.

The villagers called her a wild monkey; she never cared because she knew she could only rely on herself to survive.

She fed her grandmother for five years; her grandmother eventually died at home due to a lack of money to treat her illness, and she finally saw her heartless parents.

It was then that Fu Xiaoxiao discovered her parents had long been divorced, each forming new families and threw her back to the countryside because she was a burden.

After settling her grandmother’s affairs, she declined her parents’ plan to send her to boarding school, choosing to live independently with the card her grandmother left her before she passed.

She knew that studying hard was the way out, so she rented a small house beside the school and succeeded; from childhood to adulthood, she always ranked first in her grade, earning the qualification for direct admission with excellent grades.

Using her first-place position, she earned various scholarships and prizes from competitions, taking good care of herself during her university years, and even secured an offer from a reputable company with the highest entrance exam score. Within three years, her annual salary reached millions.

She suffered and also enjoyed blessings; she held no resentment toward anyone.

The only regret was not finding someone to spend the rest of her life with before being hit by a drunkard and killed.

When she woke up, she found herself in this world.

Fu Xiaoxiao is an optimist, living contentedly wherever she is. Being like a weed, she can survive the same way anywhere.

However, now she has two wolf cubs to care for, which is quite a novel experience; she has two children without having gone through childbirth.

Watching the two little wolf cubs working hard, just like she did when she was young, Fu Xiaoxiao understood their vigilance well.

"Aunt Fu... where are you?" Fu Xiaoxiao was leisurely munching the pear, looking into the distance when she heard an urgent call from below.

"What do we do, brother? I can’t find Aunt Fu?" Lu Chen shouted for quite a while but got no response from Fu Xiaoxiao, not knowing where she had run off to.

"Keep looking." Lu Lin’s face was serious; they had finished collecting herbs only to find Fu Xiaoxiao missing.

They searched everywhere but couldn’t find her anywhere, initially thinking Fu Xiaoxiao had gone home, but upon returning home, they didn’t see her there either.

Both became anxious.

"How about we search deeper?" Lu Chen eagerly tried to head deeper into the back hill.

"No, there are bears further in; I’ll go find an adult." Lu Lin bit his lip, thinking it over and deciding it was best to find an adult to help search.

"HI!" Fu Xiaoxiao listened to their conversation, curved her lips, leaned back, and hung upside down from the tree branch, greeting the two kids below her.

"Ah!!!" Lu Chen screamed in fright.

Although Lu Lin didn’t scream, his face suddenly turned pale, clearly startled as well.

"Sorry, sorry, I scared you." Seeing their pale faces, Fu Xiaoxiao realized she had frightened them and quickly flipped down from the tree.

"Waaah..." Lu Chen’s mouth twisted as he started bawling.

"Uh, don’t cry! I’m apologizing, isn’t that good enough? Please, don’t cry, little ancestors." Fu Xiaoxiao hurriedly used her sleeve to wipe his tears.

Even after half a day of consoling, Lu Chen couldn’t stop crying, leaving Fu Xiaoxiao helpless and seeking help from Lu Lin.

Lu Lin gave her a glare and turned away, ignoring her.

"Oh..." Fu Xiaoxiao deeply regretted scaring them, never realizing they couldn’t take a scare.

"Ancestor, I was wrong, I really know I’m wrong, I shouldn’t have scared you. What can I do to make you stop crying?" Fu Xiaoxiao clasped her hands together, pleading for him to stop crying.

"Then... then... you... teach me... to climb trees." Lu Chen hiccupped, pointing to the tree Fu Xiaoxiao had climbed down from earlier, upset.

"Teach you to climb trees?" Fu Xiaoxiao blinked; isn’t it something easily done with hands?

"I can’t climb up, last time brother almost fell." Lu Chen was deeply affected by Lu Lin almost falling last time; he wanted to learn tree climbing to help his brother pick fruit.

Seeing Fu Xiaoxiao hesitating, Lu Chen pouted, preparing to wail.

"Ancestor, I’ll teach you, isn’t it fine if I teach you? Stop crying." Fu Xiaoxiao reluctantly agreed; truly, people can’t do bad things.

"Pinky swear." Lu Chen stretched out his little finger.

Fu Xiaoxiao had no choice but to obediently ’sign and seal’.

"Teach me too." Lu Lin glanced at Fu Xiaoxiao and suddenly said.

"Sure, sure, I’ll teach both of you." Teaching one or two is the same; Fu Xiaoxiao gave in.

"How did you get up there?" Lu Chen wiped the tears from his eyes, his gaze sparkling; he wanted to see how Fu Xiaoxiao got up there.

"Watch closely. I got up like this!" Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled, lightly jumped, grabbed the thick tree branch, swung in the air, leveraged a flip, and stably stood on the branch.

"Wow!!!" Lu Chen clapped excitedly.

Standing on the tree, Fu Xiaoxiao directly picked two wild pears and tossed them down to them, then sat on the branch, grabbing with both hands backward, rolled over, and came down from the tree.

"You’re amazing, I want to learn, I want to learn!" Having watched Fu Xiaoxiao’s demonstration, Lu Chen wanted to learn even more.
