Chapter 416: Chapter 378: Collapse at the First Touch

Sikokun was at the arena in Sisiya when she received a call from Yelena.

"Valery and his men have made their move. Sikokun, execute the plan immediately. Go and seize the security bureau headquarters and take control of all agents on duty."

Sikokun replied with grim resolve, "Yes! But, Governor, are you sure you don’t need me to support you?"

"Don’t worry about me. My teacher has brought reliable help, more than enough to handle the enemy. Stay in contact."

"Understood!"

Sikokun acted immediately upon receiving her orders. She left a small contingent at the arena to maintain order and personally led the main force toward the security bureau.

Valery had previously planted agents on-site to monitor Sikokun’s movements. The moment she moved, an agent immediately notified Valery.

"Sikokun left suddenly?"

Valery, who was in the car, received the call, and his expression darkened.

"It looks like she’s heading for the security bureau."

His aide, hearing this, quickly said, "Chief, should we prepare a countermeasure? The agents left behind won’t be able to stop Sikokun!"

"No need! As long as we get Yelena under control, it’ll be easy to just eliminate Sikokun for treason afterward. Drive faster!"

"Yes, sir!"

The driver floored it.

At that moment, Lucifer, who had gone on ahead, was already hovering over Konia Manor, thanks to the high-speed mobility granted by his Fallen Angel’s Wings.

His icy gaze swept over the area below, eager to find his target.

In the attic of the manor’s highest point, Yelena and the others were standing by the window, using their vantage point to observe the streets outside.

The Shadows Guan Tong had deployed for surveillance outside had already spotted several large, disguised vehicles approaching, filled with heavily armed agents.

But what surprised him was the figure flying in from the sky.

"Lucifer..."

Guan Tong watched the man hovering over the manor on a pair of black feathered wings, and for a moment, he was actually pleasantly surprised.

Lucifer was the last score he had yet to settle.

He hadn’t gone to settle it for two reasons: first, other matters had delayed him, and second, he was unsure of Lucifer’s whereabouts.

He knew that Lucifer had previously become a minor warlord in the Tulip Alliance region, but he had since vanished without a trace.

Judging from the last time the guy tried to help Jiang Lanying escape North Star, it was clear he’d transformed from a warlord into an Ascender mercenary who worked on commission.

It wasn’t easy to find a powerful Ascender mercenary who had no fixed residence and preferred to act alone.

He never expected the guy to actually deliver himself to his doorstep.

"Lucifer? The Ascender from Soloma who’s killed countless people?"

Yelena didn’t know Lucifer personally, but she certainly knew the name. Hearing Guan Tong say it, her expression grew grave.

"It seems Valery took the final payment that was meant for you, Teacher, and used it to hire this homicidal maniac."

"Perfect timing," Guan Tong said. "I was just thinking about looking for him."

"Do you need my help?" Shi Jingyi asked from the side.

"No, I have to deal with him myself." Guan Tong looked at Shi Jingyi. "My guess is Valery brought Lucifer here specifically to keep me occupied, giving him a clear shot at Yelena with his men... I’m entrusting her safety to you and Shangyuan."

Shi Jingyi nodded. "Alright. Don’t worry about us. Just focus on dealing with Lucifer."

Shangyuan Zi also said, "Leave it to us."

Guan Tong pushed open the window, and shadows coalesced at his feet.

"Teacher... be careful."

Guan Tong turned his head and saw a hint of concern in Yelena’s eyes. He gave a slight nod, and the shadows at his feet lifted him up and out the window.

With Shangyuan Zi and Shi Jingyi protecting her, and with Yelena’s own formidable combat abilities, he truly didn’t need to be distracted by worry. He could focus all his attention on Lucifer.

The moment he emerged from the attic, borne by the shadows, Lucifer, who was hovering in the air, immediately spotted him.

"Found you!"

Lucifer’s wings beat once, and his body carved a swift arc through the air, closing in on Guan Tong.

Guan Tong didn’t want to fight him near the attic, fearing it would endanger Yelena and the others, so he manipulated the shadows to carry his body far away.

Lucifer shouted as he gave chase, "What’s wrong? Scared enough to run away when you see me, Shadow?!"

"..."

Guan Tong stopped once he had retreated to the open farmland behind the manor.

Lucifer caught up in just two or three seconds, his body coming to an abrupt halt from high speed. He hovered three or four meters above Guan Tong, looking down at him.

"What? Done running?"

"I think you have it backward." Guan Tong looked up at him. "Based on the results of our last two fights, you’re the one who should be running."

Those words struck a nerve with Lucifer. The one thing he could never accept was that he had lost to Guan Tong in their previous two encounters—once on Holy Grail Island, and once at the North Star Border.

He had been stewing over it ever since, so when he heard on the black market that there was a high-priced bounty to take down "Shadow," he immediately accepted it, wanting to get his revenge and rid himself of this lingering obsession.

"You beat me twice. But don’t you forget, the first time was because you used the power of the Holy Grail! And the second time, I’d already fought someone else before facing you, using up a lot of my Psychic Power and getting injured!"

Lucifer wasn’t exactly wrong.

Especially the second time; he had indeed fought Dragon Soul before taking on Guan Tong.

As one of the Official Squad captains, Dragon Soul was incredibly strong. Even though he lost to Lucifer, it wasn’t a crushing defeat; Lucifer himself had one of his wings broken in the process.

"However, a loss is a loss. I won’t make excuses for myself," Lucifer said coldly.

"If you’re not making excuses, then what was all that you just said?"
