10x EXP: The Weakest Dragon Devours them all
Chapter 183: William again?
Fey stepped out after Ren left. She looked around and saw the panicked faces, so she asked immediately.
"What is going on?"
"Master Ren just went after Ophelia in a rage," Silas said.
"And you all casually watched while he left?" she asked with a crazed expression.
"Master Ren moves too fast even for us, and tracking him will be hard. We are planning on how to move out to assist," Remu said.
"Tch," Fey clicked her tongue and walked past them. She planted her palm into the ground, and multiple magical formations appeared. From them, three bone wyverns shot out, each one flapping around her.
"If you are coming along, come with me. I have his scent." Fey got onto one.
Luna tried to get close and get on one, only for Remu to grab her and pull her back.
"I’m sorry, Luna. We are about to head into a heavy battle. Stay back and watch over everyone." He looked her in the eyes in a way that made her know he was not allowing her to come along. She heaved a sigh and stepped back.
"Luna understands," she said.
Silas, Aris, and Ezra walked up. Silas got onto one with Aris, and Remu got onto one.
Fey commanded the wyverns, and they shot into the air fast, moving at extreme speeds, but even then, the speeds were nowhere compared to what Ren showed.
As they moved over the forest, they noticed multiple spiders rushing over the floor of the forest, and they were doing something unexpected. They were attacking all the monsters that they could see and were completely taking over them, transforming them into infected.
"This is bad," Ezra muttered.
While they were focused on that, a fireball ripped through the air toward them, but Aris sensed it fast and used a lightning attack to counter. They looked at the attacker and saw William standing there in the forest, looking right at them.
Aris immediately reacted, wanting to rush down and attack.
"No, let’s handle him. Master Ren needs your strength. Also, he tried to harm our master, so we have a bone to pick with him," Remu said and then looked at Silas. The both of them nodded and leaped off the wyverns.
Remu caught Silas in the air and then spun Silas around midair before hurling him down at full speed.
Silas shot down like a meteor. William saw him coming and prepared a fireball to attack, only for Remu to attack from a distance with a gust-powered wind blade.
William moved out of the way as the attack slammed into the ground with an explosive force that packed so much force it caused an explosion.
Dust rose high into the sky.
Remu and Silas landed on the ground, the both of them ready to engage.
"Haha. A while back, you and I were enemies," Remu said.
"Now we fight under the same master for a greater cause. One that is beyond personal and rather for the sake of everything we have built," Silas replied.
William stretched a bit.
"I was hoping to get your master so I can end what we started, but I got the two henchmen."
"I heard you lost to Master Ren once, so what makes you think you can defeat him?" Remu asked.
"Tch, I have no words for weaklings like you. You both do not really believe that you can defeat me, right? I am a forest lord, or has that term lost its meaning around here?" William asked.
"It would take a lot more than slinging around some useless title to stop us," Silas said.
William heaved a sigh and raised his hand into the air. "I have had enough of this," he muttered in frustration and began casting a spell. A magical circle formed in front of his hand. A massive bolt of lightning shot out, ripping into the ground like a whip and travelling towards them.
Remu and Silas leaped apart to avoid it while it tore through the ground.
Remu flew into the air and charged toward William while Silas ran from the side, both of them approaching at the same time. William’s eyes darted around. He raised his second hand up and formed another magical circle, attacking with a bolt of lightning.
Silas didn’t stop running. He controlled the wind around him, using it to manipulate the lightning and push it around him. He darted faster and closed the gap before attacking with multiple wind blades.
William stomped his foot on the ground, and a wall of earth shot up and took the attacks cleanly, each one leaving a deep gash on it.
At the same time, Remu was flying down with his sword in his hand. William moved his first hand, the lightning moving toward Remu. Remu attacked with a stream of flame breath. It slammed into the lightning and created a massive collision in the air.
"You two can only hope to defeat me, but you can never do it!" William roared and increased the output of his lightning, each one becoming a massive blast that spanned a meter wide. Remu and Silas had to move fast and give a lot of distance.
The lightning slammed into the trees and destroyed everything that was in its way.
"Hahahah, come on now, attack me like you mean it!" William yelled like a madman.
Remu made a turn in the air and locked onto William. He held his sword to his side and shot down fast. William tried to use the lightning again, only for Remu to make a full loop around it and close the distance.
When he got close enough, he unleashed a slash. A flame arc ripped through the air and slashed right into the shoulder of William. Blood gushed out, and he staggered backward, clenching his jaw in pain. He looked up at Remu, but that was a mistake as Silas came in from behind, unleashing multiple wind blades.
The wind blades slashed into William, each one drawing blood. He staggered forward and struggled to keep his spells standing.
William gritted his teeth, the wounds already closing, and raised both hands.
Ice came first.
A wall of it erupted between him and Remu, buying a second, and he used that second to fire a compressed lightning bolt at Silas, who was still coming in from the side. Silas read it and rolled under it, the bolt scorching the ground where he had been, and came back up running.
William shifted his left hand, and earth rose, a pillar of it launching upward under Silas’s feet and catching him mid-stride, throwing him sideways. He hit the ground hard and rolled but was up before William could follow through.
Remu came through the ice wall.
He cut through it with a flame arc that melted the section in front of him and flew through the steam it left behind, sword already moving. William sidestepped and answered with a fireball point-blank that Remu had to drop under, the heat of it washing over his scales as it passed.
"Better," William said.
He was bleeding from three separate places. His shoulder still leaked from Remu’s earlier slash, and the wind blade cuts along his back had not fully closed. His output had not dropped, but his movements carried a slight tension that had not been there at the start.
He fired lightning in both directions simultaneously.
Remu banked hard left in the air. Silas went right, using the wind around him to accelerate the turn, and the bolts hit the trees behind both of them and brought down two massive trunks in opposite directions.
William pressed forward, not giving them time to reset, fire coming from his right hand in a sustained stream while ice lances formed and launched from his left, the combination forcing Remu to climb higher and Silas to change his line of approach again.
Silas shifted.
The transformation moved through him fast, the human form giving way to the wolf form mid-stride, the size change and the speed change both arriving at the same moment, and he was already moving faster before the shift fully completed, the wind claws forming around his paws as he came in low and hard.
William turned to meet him.
Remu came from above at the same moment, a full flame arc firing from his blade as he dropped, the arc wide enough to force William to account for both of them simultaneously.
William pulled the earth up around himself in a ring, and the flame arc hit it and blew chunks off the top. Silas came through the side of it at ground level, wind claws raking across William’s arm and drawing blood before William answered with a burst of lightning from his palm that sent Silas skidding back across the grass.
All three of them reset.
Remu in the air. Silas on the ground. William between them, bleeding, upright, both hands already moving into the next cast.
They launched at the same moment.
