’Is it what I think know it is?’ She asked excited as she had heard him complain about not having it.

’Yes, combining traits and merging them into new higher ranked ones.’ He said grinning.

’Most extraction talents can only collect, yours is now refining them on to of extracting.’

’But it isn’t a guarantee and also depends on talent ranks, with lower ones having a less chance at awakening one and higher ranked ones having more of a chance.’ She said.

He told her what he planned ro fuse as a test run and as she heard what he planned, her whole tiny body went still mid motion.

He sighed at her nonsense then added the two traits he thought and with Carmilla’s help, would be compatible for the fusion.

The sensation hit immediately, and it was strange these weren’t external tools, they were already woven into his actual body, so the fusion felt less like crafting and more like internal renovation.

His muscles loosened, then tightened. His bones felt simultaneously heavier and lighter, structure reorganizing itself mid breath. His whole frame seemed to stretch and compress at once, joints popping somewhere between pain and relief.

"Whoa!" He gritted his teeth.

He bent his arm experimentally, smoother than before, no resistance at the joint. He stretched his fingers, rolled his shoulder, twisted his torso slightly further than should’ve been comfortable.

He stopped immediately. "Okay. That’s going to take some getting used to."

He sat with the implication a moment longer, the real significance settling in slowly.
