10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 120: A Way
By the time he reached the financial terms, his eyes had widened considerably.
’...What the hell?’
Amon slowly got a hold of his emotions and placed the documents back on the desk.
He looked at Felicia, only to find that the woman was already watching him with a faintly amused expression.
"Are you seriously giving me only thirty percent of the shares?" he asked in a calm voice.
Felicia leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms. "That’s more than what you should get."
Before Amon could say anything, she continued. "I’m handling everything from marketing and construction to acquiring permissions from the Royals."
"I’m also the one investing the money and dealing with all the risks involved in turning that land into something profitable."
Amon’s lips twitched. "You could do none of that if I never told you where the mana-rich lands were."
Felicia raised an eyebrow.
"That’s not how business works." She calmly tapped her finger against the desk.
"In business, it isn’t the idea itself that makes money. What matters is how you use that idea. I could spend a fortune searching for a mana-rich land and still come back empty-handed."
She spread her arms slightly. "Your presence simply makes that process much easier. You find the land, and I handle everything else."
Felicia gave him a small smile. "Hence, thirty percent of the profit for doing almost nothing."
Amon’s eyebrow twitched.
"What do you mean, ’doing nothing’?" He picked up the document and pointed toward one of the clauses.
"There’s literally a clause here saying that if I ever find another mana-rich land, I have to inform you immediately."
Felicia clicked her tongue. "So you read that part."
"I read the entire thing." Amon placed the document down. "My mind has become rather clear lately."
Felicia’s eyebrows rose slightly. "Your mind has become clear?"
Amon nodded. "Ever since I started working on my spirit."
Felicia stared at him for a few seconds as she repeated his last words with a slightly curious tone. "Working on your spirit?"
Amon looked at her. "Is there a problem?"
Felicia shook her head.
"No. I’m just surprised." She leaned forward slightly. "Still, if thirty percent isn’t enough, how much do you want?"
Amon didn’t hesitate to answer. "Fifty percent."
Felicia stared at him before she gave a small laugh. "Why don’t I just work as your slave, then?"
Amon’s expression remained completely straight.
’...That’s a pretty kinky fetish.’ He immediately pushed the thought aside.
"I have an S-rank potential." He leaned slightly forward. "And as I grow stronger, I’ll bring you more opportunities, more profits, and more connections. You aren’t simply investing in this land."
Amon tapped his chest. "You’re investing in me."
Felicia’s smile became slightly wider, and for a moment, Felicia simply looked at him.
"I like your confidence." She shook her head. "But I’m not paying fifty percent."
Amon clicked his tongue. "Then how much?"
"Thirty-two percent."
"Forty-five."
"Thirty-five."
"Forty." Amon leaned back and crossed his arms. "I’m not going lower than forty."
Felicia stared at him for a few seconds before smiling. "Fine."
She reached toward another stack of documents and pulled out a fresh contract.
She placed it in front of Amon. "Forty percent."
Amon looked down at the new document.
"You can read it and sign it."
His lips twitched as he picked it up. "Did you already know I would stop at forty?"
Felicia simply smiled. She stood from her chair and walked around the desk. "Come with me."
Amon blinked. "Where?"
"You’ll see."
Amon was confused, but he still followed her.
The two walked through the long hallway of the Vale residence.
They passed several guards and servants who immediately stepped aside whenever Felicia approached.
After walking for several minutes, they reached an area that looked completely different from the rest of the house.
The elegant walls disappeared, replaced by thick metal doors and reinforced concrete.
Amon stopped for a moment. ’...This looks like a bunker.’
Felicia entered a security code, and the massive door slowly opened.
The scene on the other side immediately caught Amon’s attention.
Hundreds of people were working inside the enormous underground facility.
Some were carrying equipment, others were checking magical devices, while several groups were working around large tables covered with documents and strange components.
The entire place looked less like a household facility and more like a small research centre.
Amon followed Felicia deeper inside.
Eventually, they stopped in front of a large archway made from dark metal and pale stone.
Strange symbols covered its surface, and several magical crystals were embedded around the frame.
Felicia pointed toward it. "Can you tell me what this is?"
Amon narrowed his eyes as he activated Merchant’s Divine Insight.
A translucent status window immediately appeared before him.
---
[Teleportation Portal]
[Actual Value: 8,000,000 Gold Coins]
[Description: An ancient teleportation device that uses spiritual energy as the medium of travel. Once activated, the portal can establish a stable connection between two registered locations.]
[Current Status: Operational]
---
Amon’s eyes widened. "A teleportation portal."
He slowly looked at Felicia and thought. ’I never thought I’d actually see one.’
Felicia nodded her head. "Fifty years ago, the Vale family helped an elf who was traveling through the kingdom."
She glanced toward the enormous archway. "In return, he created this for our family."
Amon looked at the portal again. "Then why isn’t everyone using these?"
"They couldn’t." Felicia’s expression became slightly colder. "Private teleportation portals were banned by the Royal Family ten years ago."
Amon frowned. "Why?"
"An assassination attempt against the King was carried out using a teleportation portal belonging to a marquis."
Amon’s expression turned grim, and he suddenly remembered the event from his history books.
It had been one of the most serious incidents in the kingdom’s recent history.
The assassination attempt had nearly triggered a war between several noble factions, and the resulting political tension had lasted for years.
"I remember reading about that." Amon looked at the portal again. "So the ban was lifted?"
"Not long ago." Felicia walked closer to the device. "The restrictions were recently relaxed, although private portals are still heavily regulated."
She placed one hand against the edge of the archway. "I’m currently renovating this place."
Amon looked at her. "For what?"
"For Seraphina." Felicia’s expression softened slightly. "I want her to be able to return home once or twice every week even after she starts studying in the capital."
Amon’s eyes suddenly lit up and something clicked inside his mind.
’Wait.’ His thoughts began moving rapidly.
If this portal could connect the capital with his city, then he wouldn’t necessarily have to choose between studying at the Royal University and staying close to his family.
He could simply travel back whenever he had time.
’....Then I don’t have to worry about leaving them alone.’
Amon’s mood immediately improved.
Felicia noticed the change in his expression. "You thinking something?"
Amon nodded. "Yeah."
She gave him a weird look before she walked toward the centre of the portal. "Get ready."
Amon blinked. "Ready for what?"
Felicia looked back at him. "We’re going to see the Duke of Edinburgh."
Amon tilted his head in response. "The Duke?"
"Yes." She gestured toward the teleportation portal. "We’re going there now."
