Chapter 1343: A bit of hesitation
Chapter 1343: A bit of hesitation
Han Ba had been shocked by the abilities that Lin Fan had demonstrated during this time.
He knew that Lin Fan had changed after absorbing the power that they found in the cave, but he never thought that he would change this much.
After all, even Han Ba wasn’t able to see through the power that Lin Fan used.
If Lin Fan were to use this power on him, then he would have been in the same position as the core disciples down there facing the energy deers.
It was all because of Lin Fan fooling them with his power that they were currently in this situation. There wasn’t a single one of them that had been able to see through the power that Lin Fan used.
Han Ba understood something from seeing this.
“For Ye Qing Huan to take an interest in him, there had to be a reason. This is the reason for that.”
While they were watching, they didn’t really say much.
However, Lin Fan suddenly asked, “What do you think I should do with them?”
Han Ba was a bit caught off guard when he heard this. After all, Lin Fan was the one that had started this whole thing, so he had assumed that Lin Fan would have an idea of how to end this.
But now that Lin Fan was asking this, Han Ba didn’t seem to understand exactly what Lin Fan was asking him.
Lin Fan saw this, so he continued by saying, “What do you think would harm the four righteous sects the most?”
Han Ba was once again caught off guard by this, but it wasn’t as if he didn’t understand what Lin Fan was talking about. He was just more surprised that Lin Fan would need to ask this question.
But then after thinking about it, he seemed to realize why Lin Fan asked this question in the first place.
Han Ba knew just how long Lin Fan had been in the Heavenly Demon Sect for, so he knew that there were things that Lin Fan didn’t really know about.
It wasn’t as if Han Ba was someone that interacted with others a lot and knew many things about interaction between people.
But he was someone that was born in the Heavenly Demon Sect and had lived there most of his life. He was someone that at least knew the basic common sense in the Heavenly Demon Sect.
Which included the answer to this question.
“It’ll hurt them more if you kill them, but there’s a price that comes with each core disciple that is killed. As long as you don’t cross a certain line, then there shouldn’t be a problem.” Han Ba said in a strange voice.
“What is the line you’re talking about?” Lin Fan looked at him with one brow raised.
“As long as the foundation of the righteous sects aren’t harmed, they won’t go that far.” Han Ba said in the same strange voice.
Only this time, Lin Fan wasn’t as confused.
After all, it wasn’t as if any of them would be able to figure out who it was that had taken this thing. At the same time, they wouldn’t be able to figure out that it was Lin Fan that had done this since he used a special thing that hid himself.
Since that was the case, there was only one more thing to ask, “Would it be crossing the line if I took care of all of these people?”
“No, but it’s best if you leave half of them. If you make them all disappear, then it will cause them to take this more seriously than they would if you only make half disappear.”
Lin Fan just gave a nod in response since he trusted Han Ba.
Since this was the advice that Han Ba gave him, then he would follow what he said.
With that, the trace of hesitation that Lin Fan felt disappeared completely and he knew what he was going to do.
Though that didn’t mean that there was a rush to this.
There was a way of choosing who would live and who would die that would be much more effective.
Even if he didn’t plan on killing them all, that didn’t mean that he was planning on letting them go that easily. He wanted to make sure that they would develop heart demons after this.
It was all in the best interest of the Heavenly Demon Sect, so he wouldn’t be sloppy with this.
“Well, just relax and enjoy.”
When Han Ba heard this, a strange look appeared on his face, but he didn’t say anything in the end.
…
“This is strange. It’s almost as if they’re trying to lead us somewhere.”
After following the energy deer for a bit, this group realized that there was something off about the way that the energy deer ran.
From time to time, it was almost as if the energy deer slowed down just to give them a chance to catch up. It was almost as if the energy deer was just messing with them.
When the energy deer split up earlier, they had tried their best to contain them.
However, it was hard when the energy deer suddenly released new abilities that they didn’t expect. When that happened, they really couldn’t keep containing them and had no choice but to split up to follow them.
This group had been chasing this energy deer for a while now and they still hadn’t been able to catch it.
This was not something that they had expected with the abilities that these energy deer had demonstrated previously.
“This is clearly a trap, isn’t it?”
Once they calmed down, that was the first reaction that they had.
It was just that they had realized this too late.
With a flicker, they found that they had been completely surrounded by these energy deer. In fact, it was as if these energy deer had completely appeared out of thin air with how they suddenly appeared.
“How is this even possible?”
Though they complained, it wasn’t as if there was anything that they could do about this when they saw the way that the horns of the energy deer lit up. They knew that this was how they fought, so they knew that these energy deer were planning on going all out against them.
That was why they all prepared their strongest attacks to face them.
If it was just one or two energy deer, then they would have just tried to avoid these attacks.
The problem was that they were completely surrounded and had no way of dodging. The only thing that they could do was take these attacks head on and attack once they blocked these attacks.
But they found that when they swung their weapons, they weren’t able to make contact with anything.
The attacks that they released went right through the energy deer that were in front of them and they were thrown off balance because of the force that they used.
With the way that their attacks went right through these energy deer, it was as if they weren’t there in the first place. It was as if these energy deer had been made of nothing at all with how they dissipated.
But that didn’t make sense since they had felt something before from hitting the energy deer…
“Oof.”
All of these core disciples could only let out grunts of pain in the end as some kind of force hit them. They couldn’t even stop whatever it was that was hiding out there from hitting them since they hadn’t sensed anything until they were knocked out.
As they were fading into unconsciousness, they saw the energy deer reforming around them. As they were falling down, they saw the way that the energy deer looked at them.
The only thing that they could think was…
“How could they do something like this to me?”
They were a core disciple and their followers, they were supposed to be elites of one of the Five Great Sects. Yet for these people, they weren’t able to find the one that did this to them.
It meant that they were completely outclassed by the other side.
But they knew that it wasn’t someone from the older generation.
If it was, then their masters would have noticed and would have come to stop them.
That meant that it was one of the younger generation that did this to them.
This also proved the gap between them and the one that did this to them.
From the very beginning, they had been dancing on the palm of the hand of the person that controlled these energy deer. From the very beginning, they had been nothing more than clowns.
This situation wasn’t just happening in one location, this was happening in several different locations.
As they were knocked out, they all couldn’t help feeling regret and bitterness over the fact that they had been played like this.
“This will certainly leave a heart demon in them. If they can’t overcome this, then they will never be able to achieve anything.” Han Ba muttered to himself as he watched all of this happen.
But the one thing that he was even more surprised by was how much control Lin Fan had over all of this.
If it wasn’t for the control that Lin Fan had over his abilities, then none of this would have happened.
It could be said that everything had been in the palm of Lin Fan’s hand with how he played all of them.
“Now, let’s end this.” Lin Fan said all of a sudden.
