Will of chaos

Chapter 2040 2040: Cap 2029 (Rewritten): Your Salvation...

Pov Lena:

I didn’t expect this kind of illogical attack. They’re basically launching a rampage here. Even if we win, it wouldn’t make sense; their numbers would be greatly reduced, and this isn’t just about what’s happening here.

“What are you hiding?” (Lena)

“You think you can trap me with just that?!”

In front of me were two enemies. One had four insect legs and a humanoid body that seemed to be covered in an exoskeleton like armor. The second was an ethereal woman who seemed to float in a liquid that only she could perceive.

Both had their limbs gripped by tentacles, bird-like claws, and arms emerging from various portals around them. They were completely at my mercy, unable even to use their Auras due to the obsession of entire planets of living beings.

The woman maintained her composure, while the other was unconscious; his Aura had crumbled, unable to resist my Concept. It seemed he was more fragile than expected.

The woman was still trying to resist, constantly attempting to break free; she would, with great effort, manage to break free several hours later.

“You won’t tell me even if you kill her, will you?” (me)

“Why would I tell…”

“< Rebirth Summoning: Eclipse Armament >” (me)

Extending my hand and invoking the power of my Father’s Concept mixed with my own, it was no longer that unnecessary sword; now it was just what I needed. What fell into my hands was a white book with red letters. It contained the names of all those reborn through my power. Each name carries the weight of two lives: the life left behind and a new life they took into their hands.

My eyes drifted to my father. Even though I couldn’t see him because he was fighting on the other side of this moon, I still knew about the power he was using. He had transmitted to us how to use his power against these enemies.

“You’re going to tell me what I’ll have to annihilate you…” (me)

Before I could finish speaking, the enemy I thought was unconscious was torn to pieces from the inside out, but only his power was felt; it seemed he destroyed himself, and I soon understood the reason for this: his body and everything he represented were carried away like flows of energy.

They were prepared for something more; I needed to get rid of them as quickly as possible, so I turned my determined gaze to the woman in front of me, who was also storing power within her.

“< Decree of Rebirth: Return to the Origin of Life >” (me)

The names in the book floated outward, deforming into red needles that traversed space until they penetrated her body, which could not move. The needles penetrated her body until they were no longer visible, and then her body became a flow of energy sucked into her center, where it reformed into an egg burning with Starfire.

I take the egg and keep it, I feel the existence inside transforming as it screams, it seems my power isn’t the most suitable to take care of them, the consciousness inside is still able to resist, even so this is a good base.

“There are still many missing…” (me)

——————-

Pov Cortana:

In front of me were 5 crystal tombstones, each one burning with Starlight, then I look at Sakura beside me.

“You said they were all defeated?” (me)

“Yes, Zenos took care of a good part of them, but they were all defeated following instructions.” (Sakura)

“Something is wrong, it was too easy…” (me)

I knew something was wrong. Each of them should have the strength of an Avatar at least, with the strongest having the strength of an Entity. They shouldn’t lose so easily.

Something was definitely wrong, but reviewing the fight against those I defeated, it didn’t seem like they were holding back their powers. Even so, they were very aggressive even when defeat was certain.

Something was happening, but I fear it’s too late to realize it. This made my mind race with possibilities, and suddenly I realized something.

“Quick, tell Zenos to look for Xerxes!!!” (me)

———————-

Pov Zenos:

I had just finished helping my wives, and looking around, there were no more enemies. What I could see were eggs, fetuses, tombstones, trees, and even cocoons, all covered in Starfire. I can feel traces of my power in all of them.

Everything seemed to be going well, but just when I thought it was all too easy for my liking, Sakura rushed towards me with news from Cortana, and shortly after, Xagar did the same, bringing a very similar message from Lena.

I could still sense Xerxes; there was no way not to feel him. Transforming my body into that of a dragon, I advanced towards the area that seemed empty, but focusing my attention, I noticed a bubble of flowing energy. I charged towards it, my Concept concentrated in my claws.

With a single attack, it was as if I cut a curtain, revealing a completely different scenario: pieces of things floating in what seemed like a void of energy flows. The power of reality was a different force, trying to resist me as I advanced, devastating everything in my path.

I went straight to where I felt my connection with Xerxes. When I arrived, I saw Xerxes transformed. Her hair was made of ethereal strands of energy, the ends of which I couldn’t see, disappearing long before she left. Her clothes were loose, seemingly oriental, and behind her were three connected oval rings.

Her eyes glowed chaotically, and her aura seemed unstable like a wild beast. She was covered in wounds, and something that looked like a doll with a pair of beautiful human eyes of different colors was striking her face, which disintegrated before reforming.

“< Breath of Chaos >” (me)

“< Supreme Order: Distortion >”

My Breath attack distorted as if traversing an infinite labyrinth, moving further and further away from him, but his distraction with me allowed Xerxes to strike his chest, pushing him back.

“Be careful, he can’t be hurt; he possesses a layer of raw power around him.” (Xerxes)

Looking at him now, I noticed the defensive cloak Xerxes spoke of, but I also sensed multiple traces of different energies, like Auras; this wasn’t his power.

I finally understood what I found strange, just like the warnings about the enemies’ weakness given by Cortana and Lena. It was because of this; they had concentrated their powers on him.

“You stole your companions’ power!?” (me)

“I would never do that. Even now, I don’t agree with this strategy, but the decision was almost unanimous, and everyone surrendered their energy sources to me.”

He raises an arm; the energy was literally leaking out. He couldn’t contain it; you could see his Aura interacting with all that massive energy, trying to integrate it.

“You and Paradox destroyed our base by infecting it with that corrupted tree. It was only a matter of time.”

“You should have surrendered a long time ago!” (Xerxes)

“Surrendering is not an option, we are not wrong in wanting our freedom, we are not wrong in not wanting to be part of Creation, the one that has done us so much harm!”

“When we revealed ourselves back then, there were only two paths, victory or eradication!”

He was buying time, his Aura was growing, his power leaking less and less, grooves appeared on his body, he was trying to strengthen himself.

“Xerxes!” (me)

“I know… you can do it…” (Xerxes)

“< Incarnation of Chaos: Sword of the Universal Path >” (me)

What I previously did with difficulty, risking my life by merging Tarzor with me, was now easy and I could even convert him into my sword. My shadow dissolves and joins in my hand where the power of Tarzor’s Reality crystallizes amidst branches of black trees serving as the sword’s skeleton, the branches of Freya.

I advanced, concentrating all my Aura and Concept into my Blade. He tried to do the same, but his energy, however massive, was leaking away relentlessly. He was unable to focus his power and therefore couldn’t prevent my sword from piercing his chest, roots and branches sprouting from the sword while sparks of Starfire burned around him.

“What would you do if you won here?” (Xerxes)

“The plan was never to win, it was to force you to destroy us… the only one who extended a hand to us…”

“I never wanted to destroy you…” (Xerxes)

“I know… but we weren’t going to stop… we can’t stop… we can’t accept any other outcome…”

“The house you created for us was going to be the core of our creation… that tree destroyed our only path and sooner or later we would be forced to invade…”

“It would be a defeat either way… but I didn’t want to give that satisfaction to Guerra or the others…”

“It had to be you… that’s why we did this… we knew your successor would do what you couldn’t do in the past…”

“There seems to be a mistake here, I’m not going to destroy you… this isn’t your destruction, but your salvation…” (me)
