Chapter 3366: The Shocked Captains And Young Masters

Chapter 3366: The Shocked Captains And Young Masters

Lin Mu’s mocking only enraged them further. One captain took out a small vial of glowing green liquid.

"This poison can melt the organs of a body cultivator in seconds. Drink it, boy, unless you want your future to be even more painful."

Lin Mu smiled gently. "I see. Poison. How authentic... Very well. Hand it over."

Even the captains hesitated for a moment. But the man pushed it into Lin Mu’s hand.

Lin Mu uncorked it and sniffed. There was a mild fragrance like pine needles.

"Wood elemental poison," Lin Mu observed.

He then drank it in a single gulp. "Pleasant taste. A little bitter. Quite refreshing."

The captains stared at him in disbelief.

He then held out his hand. "Do you have more?"

The second captain cursed and grabbed a stronger vial. "Try this."

Lin Mu drank that one too.

Then the next. Then the next. The captains grew increasingly pale as Lin Mu swallowed one vial after another as if indulging in a tasting session.

Internally, Lin Mu was delighted. His Wood core had felt sluggish during his months of travel. These poisons were rich with concentrated wood elemental energy. They were meant to kill, but his body was already beyond the limits of immortal toxicity.

Each vial felt like a medicinal supplement.

After more than ten vials, Lin Mu stretched his neck and said, "That was delightful. I can feel my energy growing steadier. If you have more, I would not mind continuing."

The young masters stared at him as if seeing a demon.

The captains were sweating. One finally whispered, "He is not normal."

The other replied, "We should not stay here. This is dangerous."

Lin Mu looked at them calmly, his eyes unwavering. His aura remained placid, but beneath it was an ocean waiting to swallow mountains.

"Are you both finished?" Lin Mu asked.

Neither captain answered.

For the first time since entering the cell, Lin Mu smiled pleasantly.

"Good. Then I will wait for my trial."

The captains said nothing. Their children whimpered in pain. Tension hung in the air like a guillotine.

And every criminal in the jail knew one thing.

The captains had made a grave mistake.

The captains swallowed their frustration as they prepared to leave the corridor. Their children whimpered behind them, still nursing their throbbing hands.

The captains muttered to each other, talking about checking Lin Mu’s background again, convinced he had to be from some powerful faction. The young masters, red faced from humiliation, kept insisting that Lin Mu must have cheated or used some kind of artifact to block their attacks.

The criminals in the nearby cells whispered among themselves.

"Who in the heavens is this guy?" one murmured.

A scarred old prisoner shook his head. "Whoever he is, he is not someone ordinary. I have never seen anyone drink poison like juice."

"A monster," another whispered. "A true monster."

SHUA SHUA SHUA

As the captains and their sons reached the end of the corridor, ready to exit the jail, a sudden blinding light flared across the stone chamber.

Brilliant white light flooded every corner, illuminating the cells like the glow of hot suns.

Several prisoners gasped and shielded their eyes. The guards in the distance stumbled backward in shock. Even the captains flinched.

The first captain shouted angrily, "Who activated the sun light array? That privilege is restricted. Only once a month for ten minutes. Which fool did it?"

A gruff voice answered, "I did."

The sentence boomed through the corridor like a hammer strike.

The captain turned with fury ready on his tongue, but the moment he saw the speaker, the words froze. His face drained of color.

Standing near the array console was a tall man clad in armor much more elaborate than theirs. His pauldrons were adorned with carved tiger heads and the chestplate bore three golden insignias. T

he aura that radiated from him was heavy and controlled, like a storm trapped in a bottle.

The captains stammered, "M-major?"

The criminals stiffened. Even some guards standing near the exit paled and bowed instinctively.

The major of the outpost guard force stepped forward, eyes narrowed at the two captains.

His voice lashed like a steel whip. "Explain yourselves."

The captains exchanged glances and forced smiles.

"Major, we were interrogating a dangerous prisoner," one said. "We were ensuring he was not a threat."

The major’s eyes slid to Lin Mu’s cell. The dented wall. The cracked stones. The residual traces of Qi from their earlier attacks.

His expression darkened. "Interrogation? You dare lie to my face?"

The captains stiffened. "No, Major. We were simply doing our duty."

The major gave a cold snort. "Enough. You two will speak to others now."

The captains blinked. "Others? Who?"

As if on cue, five armored figures stepped into view behind the major, entering the jail corridor like silent shadows.

Their armor was white and silver, stylized with sharp lines, plated joints, and motifs of roaring tigers. Their helmets were modeled after the head of the White Tiger itself, with long teeth engraved into the visor. Their presence alone radiated enormous authority, almost heavy enough to force one to kneel.

The captains froze.

The young masters went pale, trembling like children.

Even the criminals recoiled in their cells.

One new prisoner whispered shakily, "W-who are those people?"

An older prisoner grabbed his arm. "They are the White Tiger Immortal Guard. They answer only to the Immortal Court. They are the elite army of the Western Immortal Court itself. Captains here do not even have the right to speak before them without permission."

The new prisoner dropped to his knees. "They should not be here. Why would Immortal Guards appear in a small outpost jail?"

The lead White Tiger Immortal Guard stepped forward, his voice deep and cold.

"We are here to investigate corruption and falsified charges related to protected individuals. We received multiple reports."

The captains paled further.

"This must be a mistake," one captain said quickly. "There is no corruption here. Everything is normal. He is the criminal."
