Chapter 3365: Witnessing Their ’Justice’

Chapter 3365: Witnessing Their ’Justice’

The other races in the outpost began noticing strange patterns.

Beastkin clerks, dwarven blacksmiths, elven travelers, and even a few draconic people , the Wyvernians sensed something curious. Goblins approached them silently and whispered through rune tokens that hovered in the air. The messages were short.

The humans from the Yong and Qing clans were bullies.

They insulted without reason.

They abused non human travelers.

They persecuted goblins, elves, beastkins, and dwarves alike.

And a human named Lin Mu stood against them.

Soon enough, strange individuals began lingering outside the Yong clan gates. Some were beastkin with fur bristling. Some were dwarves with their hammer belts tightened. Some were elves with cold eyes. Some were even ogres in disguise.

By the fifth day, the clans of Yong and Qing were marked by goblin symbols that could attract trouble without anyone understanding why.

Back in the prison, Lin Mu sat still, like a stubborn stone. He felt no hunger. The shackles did nothing to him. He watched as prisoners waited for rations that only arrived once every month.

He remained calm.

He watched.

He listened.

He waited.

And he wondered just how far the corruption here would reach before it finally broke under its own weight.

A week passed in the jail, slow and stagnant. Lin Mu continued to sit calmly on his bench, listening to prisoners talk, learning about the outpost’s corruption, and silently observing the guards who strutted with unwarranted pride.

On the seventh day, the atmosphere suddenly grew heavy. The criminals in nearby cells stiffened and turned pale as the sound of armored boots echoed through the corridor. Lin Mu opened his eyes and looked forward.

The two young masters stood there, Yong Heng and Qing Kuanshu, wearing hateful smirks.

But behind them were two middle aged men clad in ornate armor. Their uniforms bore the insignia of the outpost captains. Their faces resembled their children quite a bit, same sharp brows and same arrogance dripping out of their expressions.

The nearby criminals immediately fell silent. Some even retreated deeper into their cells with fear in their eyes. One man with several scars muttered under his breath, "Those two captains never visit unless they are planning something bad."

Another whispered, "He is done for. They will break him."

Lin Mu simply folded his arms and watched them approach.

The captains stopped in front of his cell. One of them spoke with a mocking smile. "You must be Lin Mu. Caused quite the stir this week."

Lin Mu replied, "If you are here to take me to trial, then proceed."

The two captains laughed loudly, their voices bouncing off the metal bars.

"Trial? There is no need for something like that. You insulted our sons. You threatened them. You attacked them. The audacity," the first captain said.

Lin Mu tilted his head. "I attacked them? Interesting. I do not recall touching them."

The captain waved a hand. "Silence. We do not care for facts in the presence of our authority."

He opened the cell door with a twist of a key. The sealing light faded, leaving Lin Mu unrestrained. The captains stepped aside and allowed their sons to enter first.

WHOOSH

Then suddenly the captain struck. A powerful kick charged with Qi slammed into Lin Mu’s chest, sending him flying backwards into the stone wall. The impact left cracks in the wall. Lin Mu slowly stood up and dusted himself off.

He spoke calmly. "Tell me. Is this considered righteous behavior for officers of the Western Immortal Court?"

He could have easily absorbed that attack without budging an inch. He could have let the force dissipate against his Longgui Bulwark Armor or just his physique. But Lin Mu intentionally allowed himself to be flung, just to observe how far they would push matters.

The young masters sneered.

Yong Heng spat at his feet. "We are here to teach you where you belong."

Lin Mu asked, "And where is that?"

Qing Kuanshu leaned forward and spit as well. "Beneath our boots."

Lin Mu sidestepped the spit and sighed. "I do not permit filth on my body."

The comment made the young masters twitch with rage. They lunged forward and punched him simultaneously.

THUD THUD

CRACK!

Their fists slammed into Lin Mu’s face, but instead of Lin Mu reeling back, their knuckles made a sickening crunch.

Both boys screamed, holding their broken fingers.

"What is this?" Yong Heng shrieked.

"My hand, my hand," Qing Kuanshu cried.

Lin Mu simply chuckled. "You both hit like malnourished rabbits."

The captains’ expressions darkened.

One of them barked, "Use your Qi skills. Stop holding back."

The young masters activated their techniques as well as talismans. Flames, wind blades, and bolts of lightning erupted toward Lin Mu. The cell filled with light and noise, the air trembling under the pressure.

Lin Mu just stood there.

The attacks washed over him like warm breeze. His clothes fluttered slightly, but not a single mark appeared on his skin. He did not even blink.

The prisoners watching were in awe. Some gripped the bars of their cells tightly. Others could not even breathe.

The captains exchanged glances.

"This brat is a body cultivator," the first captain muttered. "The guards did not even check."

The second captain scowled. "Pathetic fools. A body cultivator this strong at his age. He is dangerous. We cannot let this slide."

Lin Mu replied in a neutral tone, "You speak as if the guards had even attempted a proper investigation. Did you not examine my background before arresting me?"

The captain waved dismissively. "A background check for a rogue cultivator like you would be a waste of effort."

Lin Mu raised an eyebrow. "Fascinating."

The captains then joined the beating. They struck him from all directions. Palm strikes reinforced with Qi. Weaponized fists. Kicks strong enough to pulverize stone. The sound of impacts filled the cell like thunder.

Yet Lin Mu did not budge.

One prisoner whispered, "This man is not a body cultivator. He is a monster."

Another gulped. "This is impossible. The captains are both at the Fifth Tribulation Stage."

Lin Mu then sighed. "Are you both done playing?"
