Ugly, Fat, and Vicious? My Five Beast Husbands Are Obsessed Anyway

Chapter 22: A Thrilling Night

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: A Thrilling Night

Su Nuannuan watched Su Luoluo’s receding figure, a cold smirk playing on her lips.

She had deliberately sent Luan Ting away. Su Yang hadn’t told him to stand guard tonight.

But since Luan Ting had gone, Su Yang would just assume he was being diligent and had gone on his own initiative. He would never guess she was the one who sent him.

Fu Feng was not a considerate Beastman. Su Luoluo was not in for a pleasant night.

It was even possible something might happen.

’Su Luoluo, you really stole the show today.’

’Tomorrow, you’ll be the center of attention again!’

...

The Beastmen’s chatter wasn’t quiet, and their voices soon drifted to Su Luoluo’s ears on the evening breeze.

Hearing them, Su Luoluo, who was clutching a beast skin blanket, almost twisted her ankle.

’Con-consummate the marriage? What kind of shameless talk is that!’

’This primitive society really isn’t innocent at all!’

’I take back what I said before. This primitive society is definitely... primitive.’

After listening with a pounding heart, Su Luoluo quickly glanced at Fu Feng.

His expression seemed normal enough at first, rather detached. But in the next moment, under the white moonlight, Su Luoluo saw a grim and chilling face.

’Looks like he’s not happy about this at all!’

’His face turned so grim just from hearing it.’

Su Luoluo didn’t dare to imagine what would happen next.

She thought for a moment and decided it was best to speak up and make it clear to Fu Feng that she only needed him for protection.

Fu Feng was walking quickly, and Su Luoluo had to half-run just to keep up with his pace.

When their steps finally fell into sync, Su Luoluo licked her lips and began, "Fu Feng, rest assured, I won’t do anything to you. I just need you to protect me from wild animal attacks."

Su Luoluo thought she had made herself perfectly clear, but to her surprise, Fu Feng snorted coldly, his voice tinged with ridicule. "The exact same trick. You think I’ll fall for it a second time?"

Su Luoluo could only stare at him in confusion.

Suddenly, the System’s voice rang out.

"Ding. A helpful reminder from the System."

"The original host previously faked an illness to lure Fu Feng to her bed, hoping to consummate the marriage with him."

Hearing this, Su Luoluo rolled her eyes dramatically.

’This original host really would stoop to any level just to get into his bed.’

’She’s blocked every normal, decent path for me.’

’She didn’t leave me any way out at all.’

She had originally thought that standing guard together would be awkward, but as long as she explained things clearly to Fu Feng, it should be fine.

Who knew her predecessor had left behind such a huge mess.

’Having a predecessor like this is so exhausting!’

"I’m telling the truth this time. I really won’t do anything to you."

Fu Feng remained unmoved.

Su Luoluo continued, "If you don’t believe me, I can swear to the heavens. If I really do something to you tonight, may I be struck dead by lightning."

As she spoke, a massive clap of thunder boomed across the sky, drowning out her words completely.

Su Luoluo: "..."

’Seriously, even the heavens won’t back me up when I’m just trying to make a point.’

’Just how many times did the original host try to climb into his bed?!’

’Was that bed really so appealing?’

’Was it worth trying again and again?’

Su Luoluo sighed again and again inwardly.

Seeing that Fu Feng didn’t believe her, Su Luoluo said no more.

After they had walked a little further, Fu Feng stopped and gestured downward with his eyes. "You can sleep here tonight."

Hearing this, Su Luoluo looked where Fu Feng was indicating.

It was a huge tree with a massive trunk, and the spot Fu Feng had indicated was right underneath it.

"Sleep here?" Su Luoluo was a bit stunned when she saw the spot.

There was nothing here but short grass. Not even a bit of cover.

"Isn’t it fine? The ground is flat and there are no rocks," Fu Feng said nonchalantly.

’It’s fine when it’s not windy or rainy, sure, but if a thunderstorm suddenly rolls in, won’t I become a drowned rat?’

What worried Su Luoluo the most was sleeping under a tree. If lightning struck, wouldn’t she be a living lightning rod?

She hunched her shoulders slightly and carefully tried to negotiate, "How about we look a little more? If we find a cave, we won’t have to worry about wind or rain."

Fu Feng glanced at the sky and said mockingly, "Don’t worry. It won’t be windy or rainy tonight."

Su Luoluo didn’t know where he got his confidence, proclaiming there’d be no wind or rain after just a single glance at the sky.

However, she didn’t dare question him.

Fu Feng already disliked her. If she made him angry, she would end up sleeping alone tonight.

She bit her lip and tried another excuse. "There are bugs in the grass. I won’t be able to sleep. Can we look somewhere else?"

Fu Feng crossed his arms, an ’I-knew-it’ expression in his eyes as he looked at her. "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking."

His words and his look were so strange and sudden that Su Luoluo could only look back in confusion. "What am I thinking?"

"Hmph. Don’t think it’ll be easier to make a move on me in a cave. No chance."

With that, Fu Feng transformed into his original form, scurried up the tree with a WHOOSH, and said, "I’m sleeping here tonight. If you don’t want to sleep there, find your own spot. I won’t be responsible if something happens to you."

Su Luoluo: "..."

’I’ve been completely wronged.’

’I really didn’t have that in mind.’

But he clearly didn’t believe her at all. He found a spot in the tree, closed his eyes, and started to doze off.

Su Luoluo had no choice but to accept the spot Fu Feng had chosen.

Fortunately, she had brought a beast skin blanket. Sleeping on it wouldn’t be too hard.

Otherwise, if she slept directly on the ground as Fu Feng had suggested, she’d be sore all over from the hard surface, even if it didn’t get damp.

’I may be fleshy, but every cell still feels discomfort the same way.’

Nights in this primitive society were so boring. The moon had only just risen to the middle of the sky, and it was already time to sleep.

It was too early to sleep; Su Luoluo couldn’t fall asleep at all. She tossed and turned, thinking maybe she could count stars to hypnotize herself.

However, she had barely counted two stars before the quiet night began to liven up.

As if on cue, all sorts of rhythmic grunting sounds, rising and falling like strings of firecrackers, came from all directions.

Su Luoluo listened, her face a mask of embarrassment.

She covered her ears, trying to convince herself ’form is emptiness, emptiness is form,’ and had just barely started to get used to it.

Suddenly, a high-pitched cry, like a ship’s horn, began to WHOO-WHOO, growing louder and louder.

She flushed beet-red listening to it.

’There are really too few recreational activities in this primitive society. With nothing else to do, they just go at it nonstop every day.’

Su Luoluo was sighing with endless emotion, feeling nostalgic for the rich nightlife of the Post-apocalypse.

Suddenly, a "HISS... HISS..." sound came from the bushes. A gust of cold wind accompanied it, making her feel an instant chill.

At first, she thought it was just the wind, until she met a pair of yellow eyes and saw a triangular head.

Su Luoluo’s soul nearly flew from her body in fright. A long, white snake with black rings was flicking its tongue, staring viciously at her. She had no idea when it had appeared.

Su Luoluo’s face turned white in an instant. She swallowed hard and scrambled backward, shouting up at the tree, "AHH! Help! Fu Feng, get down here! There’s... there’s a snake!"
