Chapter 1166: Pressured to Death

Chapter 1166: Pressured to Death

"How dare you! Do you know who you are talking to?! No one disrespects the Third Princess like that!"

The one who spoke was not the Peak-stage Divine Knight but a Late-stage Divine Knight-level Divine Witch, who was also on the bridge.

Despite the threatening tone, her nervousness and fear were evident.

Clearly, she was a paper tiger, all bark and no bite, knowing that Valefor was likely very dangerous and powerful, and possibly only the mighty background of the Third Princess could save them.

Unfortunately, the Divine Witch made the wrong choice.

Valefor detested headstrong witches, especially those prideful and arrogant ones, full of hot bluster, and not knowing their place. The strong were not to be disrespected.

Yet, surprisingly, Valefor did not lash out and kill the Divine Witch immediately. The old him wouldn’t have given it a second thought and would have acted instantly, giving the other party no chance of reprieve or regret.

Valefor calmly fixed his attention on the so-called Third Princess, the Peak-stage Divine Knight-level Divine Witch of the Skymagia Royal Family.

"They say that to beat a dog, one must first look at its owner," Valefor casually stated before asking, "Do the barks of this dog represent you?"

Rumble...!

As Valefor finished his question, his endless slaughter energy boiled, casting an overwhelming and oppressive pressure over the Skymagia Royal Fleet, suppressing everyone.

Without further doubt, everyone believed Valefor was a mighty Divine Lord, on par with the Skymagia Ancestor, the Divine Protector of their Skymagia Star Kingdom.

The Third Princess immediately faced tremendous pressure, finding herself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If she denied the question, she would lose the respect, trust, and loyalty of not just that subordinate but all of her subordinates.

On the other hand, if she admitted, they would likely be wiped out on the spot.

Since when did Gehenna housed such a terrible being? Where in the world did such a fearsome killing star come from?

The Third Princess felt frustrated that such important information was not privy to her before she departed from the Skymagia Star Realm. She couldn’t help but curse the Nightmare Witches for screwing her over.

Meanwhile, the Late-stage Divine Knight-level Divine Witch wore an ugly expression after hearing Valefor refer to her as a dog. She wanted to say something else, but quickly realized the Third Princess’s expression was especially grim and gloomy.

Evidently, her arbitrary decision to threaten the other party failed to produce the desired effect and even made the situation worse.

"The dog... does not represent me!"

The Third Princess answered with gritted teeth after making her hard choice, ultimately choosing a humiliated life over a proud death.

Valefor smiled disdainfully.

Shortly after, he glanced at the dog who barked at him earlier and coolly said, "Looks like your owner abandoned you. Does such a heartless owner deserve your loyalty, trust, and devotion?" Ṝ𝘢₦ȏ𝐁Ɛṧ

"Normally, I should execute you for such blatant disrespect and defiance towards me. However, I find you quite pitiful. If you kill your heartless owner right now, I am willing to pardon your offense."

Once these words were spoken, the Late-stage Divine Knight-level Divine Witch felt despair.

How could she possibly kill the Third Princess?

Such a capital offense wouldn’t just end with her death. Even her family and friends could be implicated. In fact, the extermination of her whole bloodline would likely happen.

However, her greatest sorrow was the Third Princess’s alarmed and distrustful gaze.

After throwing her under the bus, the Third Princess no longer trusted her loyalty. Years of devotion meant nothing to her now. At this moment, she truly was an abandoned dog.

"I apologize for acting out of my place and putting you in a tough position, Third Princess. May my death resolve all problems."

With that said, the sorrowful Late-stage Divine Knight-level Divine Witch committed suicide. She had no other choice.

"No..."

The Third Princess felt immense regret and sorrow.

Meanwhile, Valefor watched the scene unfold with an unfeeling heart, unmoved by the life and death of witches. If any, he found delight in their suffering.

It was more satisfying to watch them turn on each other than to simply slay them.

"I hope you can pardon us now that the offender is dead, Your Excellency," the Third Princess pleaded with difficulty, her heart in turmoil with myriads of complex emotions.

She looked especially pitiful; with her beauty, she could easily soften the heart of many men.

However, Valefor was no flower protector.

Such pitiful appearances had no effect on him. He was also no fool, and knew exactly why the Skymagia Royal Fleet arrived with such force and momentum.

Clearly, they came to purge insurgents and assert royal authority.

Unfortunately, they were ignorant and kicked an iron plate. If he didn’t show such a deterring force, the Skymagia Royal Fleet would have already started purging the Gehenna after a few words.

The Skymagia Witches wouldn’t have cowered as they did.

"The dog may be dead, but I didn’t give it permission to die. To kill itself in front of me... isn’t that a blatant disregard of my presence?" Valefor coolly stated.

"Moreover, as the dog’s owner, you aren’t free of blame. The dog’s lack of discipline is the owner’s fault. Just letting you go like that doesn’t feel quite right to me. At the very least, you need to leave behind an arm as well."

"Only then can you all leave. Otherwise, I don’t mind keeping you all here," Valefor stated with chilling calmness.

The Third Princess gritted her teeth, suppressing her rage.

When had she ever been forced to suffer like this?

Nevertheless, in front of a Divine Lord Powerhouse, she had no choice but to heed the other party’s demands. Otherwise, the annihilation of her Skymagia Royal Fleet was certain.

The weak were at the mercy of the strong.

She didn’t have a choice.

After mustering up her courage, the Third Princess decisively sliced off her left arm, inflicting great pain upon herself as fresh blood gushed out of her open wound.

Even so, she endured the intense pain with gritted teeth.

"Are you satisfied now, Your Excellency?"

"I haven’t said which arm you should leave behind... Why did you act on your own? What is the meaning of this?"
