Chapter 1105: Omen of the End?

Chapter 1105: Omen of the End?

Myriad Sea God Palace, Core Palace region

"What’s going on?!" a Merman Sea God uttered with alarm after sensing the seawater disturbance in the Oceanheart Tranquility Palace.

The Oceanheart Tranquility Palace’s seawater was always known for its calmness, never stirring to disrupt the palace even when external force was applied. Any force striking the region would quickly disperse before it could reach the palace buildings.

This ensured that anyone who cultivated inside the Oceanheart Tranquility Palace would never be disturbed by the outside commotion.

Yet, such a holy area renown for its tranquility was being disturbed.

Sea God Pelara was only curious at first, sending out his divine sense to investigate the source of the seawater’s disturbance. However, even after covering the entire Oceanheart Tranquility Palace and beyond, he could determine the origin of the disturbance.

Just as Sea God Pelara was wondering, he suddenly received a sound transmission from a Sea God who resided in Eternal Tidekeep Palace.

"God Pelara, is there a disturbance around the Oceanheart Tranquility Palace?"

"God Calmoris? Yes, there is. Do you know what’s going on? Don’t tell me... It’s also happening over at your Eternal Tidekeep Palace?"

Strangely, Sea God Pelara did not receive a reply even after waiting a while. Just when he thought his message did not go through or that Sea God Calmoris was ignoring him, the other party finally replied.

"My apologies for the delayed response, God Pelara. I just received news from Empyrean Oshenra. The strange disturbance is not limited to our palaces but is affecting every body of seawater in the Holy Land. However, the source of the disturbance is still unclear."

"All the seawater in the Holy Land is affected, but the source is still unclear?!" God Pelara was dumbfounded by the revelation.

If even an Empyrean God couldn’t determine what was shaking all the seawater, wouldn’t that mean the world itself was the cause?

But what did this all mean?

"Could this disturbance be a sign of the world telling us that its impending doom is near?" Sea God Pelara frowned with doubts and apprehension.

"That shouldn’t be... right?" Sea God Calmoris replied unconfidently, adding, "That’s too soon..."

Every True Divinity within the Core Palace was aware that the Myriad Sea God Palace would face an unprecedented crisis. The twelve Empyreans had foretold that the calamity would shake the very foundation of their world’s existence.

However, no one would expect it to come so soon.

"Then, what else could it be?"

"..."

Facing Sea God Pelara’s question, Sea God Calmoris had no answer and could only respond with silence.

Although the latter didn’t want to believe it, he couldn’t think of any other possibility either.

Nevertheless, whether they were True Divinities or Divine Beings, nearly everyone in the Holy Land felt alarmed and restless due to the cosmic seawater movement. Many beings became guarded, like they were about to face a great enemy.

Only a selected few individuals felt unprecedented tranquility and calmness, as if they were prepared to accept whatever outcome the Holy Land would face, since it was inevitable. ȒÄΝôВÈᶊ

Among them, there were even some individuals who were more curious about the world itself. Considering the worldly phenomenon couldn’t have happened without any source, they wondered if the Myriad Sea God Palace had a worldly spirit.

If such a large celestial domain truly had a worldly spirit, wouldn’t such an existence be even more powerful than Empyrean Gods?

"Does the world have a spirit?"

"That’s hard to say. But if it did, it would undoubtedly be more powerful than Empyrean Gods. However, that would also mean that we are all fucked."

"Haha, that’s true. After all, if the unknown calamity can even make such a powerful existence feel threatened, then how could everyone else below it possibly hope to survive?"

Strangely, with the veiled threat of extinction burdening everyone’s mind, the weakest group of disciples was able to accept it with remarkable equanimity, even discuss the hot topic with enthusiasm.

Of course, such reactions were not the result of possessing strong wills but were born out of helplessness.

In the face of overwhelming force, resistance was futile. Since death was inevitable, what else could they do but accept it?

Holding onto such a mentality, a small fraction of the disciples decided to give up cultivation and use what little time they believed they had left to enjoy life. They didn’t want to die with regrets.

...

Mermen Doman, Outer Palace, Whispering Pearl City, Mermaid’s Grotto

When Vaan came out of the tent to receive his next client, he noticed the gaze of the crowd had changed. Even so, he didn’t give it too much thought and performed his service dutifully.

Three hours later, Vaan went out to receive his next client again.

However, he immediately noticed the crowd of mermaids staring at him with wolfish eyes as if they wanted to eat him alive; he could feel the intensity of their burning desire to experience his service.

Unexpectedly, the Heavenly Massage’s popularity had surged within a short while.

Originally, there were only a few hundred curious souls at the start of his business. Now, Vaan couldn’t tell how many had queued up unless he spread out his Omni-Sense.

However, if he did, he would quickly discover that Mermaid’s Grotto was becoming increasingly crowded. In fact, its current traffic was already 800% the average amount on a busy day.

The Heavenly Massage had become a local and internet sensation, drawing potential clients from all parts of Whispering Pearl City and beyond.

Supposedly, receiving a massage from a Noble Being had become a popular wish among the disciples’ bucket list of things to do before the inevitable arrival of the Holy Land’s calamity.

Surprisingly, despite the huge influx of traffic, the order remained relatively stable in Mermaid’s Grotto.

In fact, not everyone’s priority was to join the Heavenly Massage’s queue upon entering Mermaid’s Grotto. Given that the queue had already reached hundreds of thousands, the latecomers could only choose to secure a good spot near the tent to meditate.

Those who had been around the tent at the start had noticed a strange mana phenomenon taking place, while those who came later were even more aware of it.
