Chapter 2945: Agreement
Chapter 2945: Agreement
"The four thrones of the Abyssal Region." Lydis guessed what Minos wanted to discuss now that they had talked about more important matters.
Minos nodded in agreement. "My group found the location of these vacant thrones in the Abyssal Region, just as Senior's forces had done. As you were the first to find them, I won't be reckless in trying to get ahead of you."
The rule of the jungle was that the strongest ate the weakest and the one with the strength to hold a valuable resource was the only one who could really take it. if Lydis had his eye on something, no one else could covet it!
But Lydis hadn't officially taken those four thrones for himself. Minos wasn't sure why, but that was enough to convince him to come to this meeting today and seek a negotiation.
"You want to negotiate the four thrones?" Lydis smiled at Minos, while everyone around his throne hall had recovered from the pressure of earlier, and turned their attention to the matter between them. "I'm afraid that even you won't easily get one of those four thrones, Minos. I won't make it difficult for you, as I promised before. But even I couldn't move them. That's why they're still 'available' for anyone who finds them to covet."
Devdar put the subject of a few moments ago aside and stepped forward, his countenance expressing his curiosity about the matter. "Can the senior be more specific?"
Lydis shook his head. "It's not that I have no intention of helping you. If those thrones were taken over by new Deities, the entire dimension would benefit from it. But when you try, you'll see why it's not so simple. However, I will warn you that the challenge of moving these thrones can be completely different for each Deity. More than a dozen of my subordinates have tried, and they've all had different obstacles."
MInos narrowed his eyes as he looked at Devdar, not expecting this.
Normally speaking, thrones only brought challenges to those who tried to gain possession of them and sit on them. To just carry them around and create inheritances based on them, as normally Deities used vague thrones, tests or the like didn't exist.
Lydis understood the looks of his two strongest visitors that day and gave a hint. "The thrones of the Deities represent the laws of creation. Your throne, Minos, derives mainly from the Law of Time. So this is the greatest power of your throne. But there are other laws strongly present on your throne.
That's your case. But for the other thrones, there are infinite 'configurations' of laws, some being more concentrated in certain powers and others more mixed in different powers. In the case of these four thrones, they are the representations of very specific laws, almost as concentrated or more so than the concentration of the Law of Time of your throne. Hence, they are different."
Pausing for a moment while everyone in the hall thought about his words, Lydis concluded his hint. "I myself don't know which laws each of them represents. But one of them I had the chance to find out. It is the throne of the Law of Death."
Several of those present opened their mouths in astonishment, hardly believing what they had just heard. If it hadn't been for Lydis himself speaking, no one there would have believed such a thing.
"Is this serious?" Minos' daughter asked in an uncertain tone. "Isn't the Law of Death supposed to be a power of Hell?"
Everyone thought the same. After all, Hell's Reincarnation Wheel was the ultimate condensation of the Law of Death and the Law of Life.
There were other laws that were concentrated in Hell, but these two were the ones that all the Celestials knew where they were most concentrated!
Lydis wasn't surprised by the question. In fact, for most beings, it was expected to think in such a way.
"That should be the case if Hell had been born as the entity responsible for life and death. But although that dimension has, from the beginning, taken on that role, they weren't born for it. They resulted from the end of something greater and merely inherited most of these laws when they emerged as an independent dimension. But the realm also inherited some of these common laws from Hell and that's why there have been thrones for them since the creation of the two dimensions."
At that moment, Minos realized something even more profound, 'It seems that not all the thrones originated from the killing of Devils... Probably the thrones that represented specific laws had already existed since the time of the Ancestral Realm!'
As his group considered Lydis' words, with its members murmuring amongst themselves, Devdar said, "Thank you for your tips, senior. Correct me if I'm wrong. Aren't you going to stop us from trying to take those thrones? You didn't manage it yourself, so if we take it, it'll be on our own merit, right?"
Lydis laughed out loud, making his childish cheeks vibrate in a funny way. "Since you want these thrones, I'll allow you to take two of them. However, the price of each throne will be a vacant throne."
'That means we'll have to conquer all four and give two of them to him!' Minos realized Lydis' move.
Naturally, Lydis wouldn't completely open the path for Minos to grow stronger and one day come back to kill him!
Lydis was clearly interested in the journey of the Celestial King's successor, but he wouldn't allow such a journey without gaining something.
Minos understood well what Lydis wanted and what it would mean in the future. Even so, he could never try to negotiate. This was already a better deal than anything he had thought would happen in this negotiation!
This was all the more true considering the information about the Celestial King, something Minos hadn't previously counted on!
His companions looked at Minos expectantly, but they didn't have to wait long. He approached Lydis' throne, showing one of his hands while his expression made his intention clear.
"In that case, we have an agreement. I expect the senior to keep his side of the promise when he succeeds."
Lydis shook Minos' hand, respecting the gesture. "Good luck in your endeavor. I hope you truly surprise me, Minos."
