Chapter 2371: The Scarlet King’s new race (II)

That was a goal the Scarlet King had carried since the moment he first became an ArchDeity, and that gained a lot of strength during the war between the Imperium of Time and the Scarlet Kingdom.

However, it was also a goal he had eventually abandoned after realizing just how complicated the creation of a new race truly was—especially one meant to stand on the same echelon as the Supreme Races.

At the time, it had simply been impossible.

However, things had changed greatly over the last century.

Cain’s power and understanding of the cosmic rules had advanced immensely, as had his mastery over Genetic Coding. More importantly, his own Neo-Demon Body had undergone a profound evolution, transforming into a hybrid existence between a Neo-Demon and a Neo-Angel.

Every step of that process, every principle behind it, had been engraved deeply into his mind and was fully accessible through the Absolute Life Form System.

That granted him a framework he could use in order to speed up the process.

Taking a deep breath, Cain closed his eyes and allowed his thoughts to branch into dozens of paths, endlessly simulating possibilities.

With his current power, creating a new race was no longer an impossible task. The true difficulty lay elsewhere. This race needed to enhance his warriors—possessing talent and potential capable of elevating ArchDeities and even Alpha-Omega Overgods.

And that was not easy.

Again and again, his ideas reached dead ends. They could strengthen the lower ranks, but none could truly upgrade the top echelon of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance. No matter how he refined them, the ceiling remained the same.

After several long days of relentless thought, Cain finally sighed and raised his head.

"Apex," he asked calmly, "do you have any ideas?"

"Hmph. Brat, you only talk to me when you need something."

The voice of the System Spirit echoed inside his mind, filled with annoyance. Cain merely smiled.

The truth was that his relationship with Apex was... complicated. Cain had long suspected that the Absolute Life Form System was connected to the entity that had taken control of his body during the battle against Dark Sky and the first incursion into the Heart of the Root. Given that Apex was aware of this, tension between them was inevitable.

Besides, Cain had not truly expected help. Apex rarely gave direct answers, preferring instead to force Cain to reach conclusions on his own.

Yet, surprisingly, Apex continued.

"Brat, creating a new race capable of enhancing those in the Third Realm is no simple matter. You clearly don’t possess the power to directly defy reality’s rules and create natural Supreme Races like the Primordials or Depravitas. What you need is a medium—a source of growth that can bend the laws of the universe. Something like a Neo-Demon Core or Neo-Angel Core."

The moment Cain heard those words, his eyes began to glow.

He immediately abandoned the idea of natural evolution.

Apex was right. Cain lacked the raw authority to force such a transformation directly. But what he did possess was a medium capable of defying reality itself—one already tested and proven.

The Scarlet Throne.

Its power had grown immeasurably, not only because of the countless beings bound within it, but also due to the thousands upon thousands of Scarlet Stars now flooding the realm—each one carrying the power of a Third Realm phenomenon.

"These Scarlet Stars connect directly to my warriors," Cain murmured, his thoughts racing. "They grant massive surges in psychic and spiritual energy, along with access to the Conquest Path."

His breathing quickened as realization struck.

"What I need to do now... is raise everything to the next level."

The Scarlet King’s eyes burned with excitement as the answer that had eluded him for so long finally revealed itself.

"I need to fuse the power of the Scarlet Throne directly into the soul and flesh of my warriors," he said softly. "Erase the medium entirely—and make them a single entity."

That was the solution.

Of course, how to reach that point was an entirely different ordeal. Still, Cain could not suppress the thrill coursing through him. He was closer than ever to his goal.

With his objective now clear, the Scarlet King shifted his focus toward the unification between the Scarlet Throne’s endless spirit powers and the flesh and souls of his warriors.

He closed his eyes and entered deep meditation, calling upon the [A.I. Chip Module] to analyze feasibility, stability, and long-term consequences across countless simulated outcomes.

Time passed silently.

Finally, after an entire week, Cain opened his eyes.

They glowed with the light of enlightenment and success, illuminating the entire throne room.

He paused briefly, then silently shared the method with Apex.

"Mmm," the System Spirit muttered after a moment. "I suppose it could work. Calling it a new race would be a little excessive, but it will definitely enhance the power of ArchDeities—and perhaps even Alpha-Omega Overgods."

"However," Apex continued, "there is a massive drawback."

Cain’s thrill subsided completely. He knew what Apex referred to and had to agree.

However, they did not have the luxury to aim for a safe path forward, not with The Root looming over them.

This was the best path he could devise—one capable of pushing them forward and finally allowing them to break through the defenses of the World of the Root. Whatever the cost, there was no turning back now.

With a grave expression, Cain turned his gaze toward a chamber within the Scarlet Crown, one located very close to his own.

"Come."

Less than three seconds after the command echoed through the domain, a figure appeared within the throne room.

He was a towering man with an imposing presence. A fierce aura surrounded him, burning hotter than the sun itself. His power rivaled that of Cipher and the other super powerhouses of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance. He was capable of triggering Resurrección and wielded two Alpha-Omega Overgod treasures.

After Cain and Anark, he was the strongest warrior in the Scarlet Kingdom.

Of course, he was none other than Leonidas.
