The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 1269 - 1209: Seeking Help from My Sister

"Who is the Night Owl? Why did he kidnap my Sister?"

Samara knew nothing.

Everyone treated her like a child. No one told her the specifics. She was anxious inside, but didn’t dare ask recklessly, afraid she’d say the wrong thing.

"If you stop being mad, I’ll tell you."

Samara fell silent.

Aaron Faber said, "I’ve held you, I’ve kissed you. If you don’t marry me, who are you going to marry?"

"..."

He bent down, leaning very close to her. Seeing Samara unconsciously back away, he sighed and asked, "Do you hate me that much?"

"..."

"Samara Johnson, whether you’re willing or not, sooner or later I’m going to marry you and bring you home! Other than me, you’re not allowed to like anyone else!"

Samara was completely worn down by this man clinging to her.

Samara said, "Then marry into the Johnson Family. If you marry into the Johnson Family and live here with me for the rest of your life, I’ll marry you."

Anyway, she didn’t have a man she liked, and she didn’t want to leave the Johnson Family. Her family’s attitude was that she had to get married; if he married into the family, marrying him would be fine.

That put Aaron Faber in a bind.

His situation wasn’t the same as Adrian Desmond’s. Adrian had no father or mother; he still had both parents. His family had been urging him to go back. If he suggested staying in Orienta, his family would definitely disagree.

"I’m afraid that won’t work."

"..."

"When a woman gets married, she’s supposed to live with the husband’s family. In the future you have to go back to Abyanabad with me."

As soon as Samara heard that, she immediately shook her head. "Forget it then, I’m not getting married."

Aaron Faber: ...

Samara ran off to find Paige Desmond, terrified Aaron Faber would catch up from behind, not even daring to look back.

Aaron Faber watched Samara’s retreating figure, then lowered his head and saw a certain part of himself slightly raised. Even someone as ascetic as he was had begun to feel desire.

But Samara was completely a child, totally clueless. He felt helpless. Adrian Desmond had even warned him that before Samara turned twenty, he absolutely could not lay a finger on her.

"Samara, I don’t know if I can wait until you turn twenty..."

Aaron Faber stood there waiting for Samara. Who knew, half an hour passed and she still didn’t come.

In the end, he had no choice but to leave and go look for her. After searching for a long time, he discovered Samara had actually taken Paige along a different route back to the restaurant.

Being rejected like that hit Aaron Faber hard.

...

In the restaurant, Kiya’s whole family had come over. Kiya and Adrian Desmond met each other’s eyes and nodded, which counted as a greeting.

Kiya helped the heavily pregnant Paige sit down. Paige was just as surprised to see her Brother suddenly back.

"Brother, when did you come back?"

"Just now."

Auntie Briggs brought out a pot of yam chicken soup and personally ladled a bowl for Paige. "Paige, here, drink more yam chicken soup. I’ve been simmering it for a long time."

"Thank you, Auntie Agatha."

Paige felt a bit embarrassed. When she’d come, she’d thought she could help her Brother take care of the kids, but she’d ended up being the one taken care of completely.

"Drink more," Auntie Briggs said kindly.

"Mm."

Adrian Desmond didn’t dare let his mother‑in‑law ladle soup for him. He served himself and even ladled a bowl for Auntie Briggs.

"I’ll stew mutton broth for you tonight. The weather’s getting colder day by day now; drinking mutton soup is the most nourishing," Auntie Briggs said.

Adrian Desmond said, "Mom, don’t work too hard."

"What hard work? You all love eating my cooking—there’s not enough time for me to be happy about it," Auntie Briggs said.

Paige said, "Auntie Agatha’s cooking is delicious. We all love it."

"That’s good."

Auntie Briggs urged them to eat, but she didn’t eat herself; instead she fed the three children. The twins lay in the stroller, and Sheehan sat on a little stool. Auntie Briggs fed them like feeding little birds.

"Meat," Sheehan said.

"You can’t just eat meat. You have to eat more vegetables and fruit. We’ll take a bite of yam and then a bite of meat, okay?" Auntie Briggs coaxed.

"Meat."

Auntie Briggs didn’t really have strict rules with the children. If Sienna Johnson were here right now, Sheehan wouldn’t get any meat, but looking at Sheehan’s adorable little face, she couldn’t resist and fed him meat anyway.

"It’s all Adrian’s fault. Adrian only eats meat and no veggies, and he’s corrupted you kids too."

Adrian Desmond had originally been about to reach for some meat. Hearing his mother‑in‑law say that, he shifted his chopsticks toward a plate of green vegetables and, against his will, picked up a small piece and put it in his mouth.

Paige saw this move of Adrian’s. Holding her bowl, she gave him a meaningful look.

"Eat," Adrian Desmond said.

"Brother, I saw you just now pick up this celery dish. Looks like you really like it, so eat more." Paige picked up a chopstickful and dropped it into Adrian’s bowl. Adrian’s face went dark.

Kiya saw his wife teasing Adrian and only smiled, saying nothing.

Aside from this little episode, the whole family was very quiet.

After all, right now Sienna Johnson had been kidnapped, and they still had no idea when she would successfully get out of danger.

After the meal, Adrian Desmond kept his sister back to talk alone.

Paige’s belly was very big. As she sat down, her hand stayed on her back. Adrian, sitting opposite her, asked how she was feeling physically. Paige replied that everything was fine.

With just the two siblings there, Paige asked bluntly, "Brother, you still haven’t found Sister‑in‑law?"

"No."

"How can she still not be found after so long?"

Adrian lifted his gaze to look at her, lips pressed tightly together. There were things he wanted to say to Paige, but he didn’t know how to start.

"Brother, you specially asked to see me—do you have something you want to tell me?" Paige took the initiative to ask.

Adrian looked at his sister and told her what he’d decided in his heart. "Paige, I want Kiya to go back and be Sultan again."

Paige asked, "If Kiya goes back and becomes Sultan, will my Sister‑in‑law be able to come back?"

"It’s the Night Owl who took Sienna.

Right now the Night Owl is using Moore as his puppet, controlling the whole of Abyanabad. We’re at a big disadvantage.

So I want Kiya to go back and continue being Sultan."

"..."

"Partly for Sienna, partly for the entire country of Abyanabad."

Kiya was a good Sultan—that was obvious to all. Not only did Adrian think Kiya should go back and continue being Sultan; the businessmen represented by Ward Penney had the same idea.

Paige was torn. She’d talked about this with Kiya before, but he’d insisted on taking her back with him.

People—before they get something, it’s easy to talk. Once they have it, they’re unwilling to give it up.

Paige had experienced the happiness of life outside. How could she willingly go back into a cage?

"Brother, I’ll talk to Kiya. You just focus on finding my Sister‑in‑law. I’ll handle Kiya’s matter," Paige took the responsibility upon herself.

Adrian looked at his sister. He knew she was struggling, but still didn’t say anything.

He couldn’t allow the Night Owl to wield such enormous power; they were too passive.

First Sienna Johnson, then his children, and finally it would be his turn.

Only by striking first could they best defend themselves.

He had no other choice.
