The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 1177 - 1117: My Blue Confidant (2)

Noah Phillips’s words made Sienna Johnson’s heart ache and sting, but she didn’t lose control of her emotions. Letting herself go a little once in a while was fine, but crying couldn’t solve anything.

"Brother, come in, it’s cold outside." It wasn’t "Noah Phillips," it was "Brother"—with that, she nailed down the definition of their relationship.

They were brother and sister without any blood ties.

"Mm."

Sienna hung up the phone, stood up, walked to the middle of the study, looked at the shattered inkstone, paused for a moment, then lifted her head, eyes firm, and walked out of the study, heading to the sitting room.

...

Sabrina Conner and Barnes Smythe, with nowhere to vent their energy, had gone to the Martial Arts Training Ground to have a bout. The two of them came out drenched in sweat and happened to run into Noah Phillips coming in.

The Servant was leading Noah in the direction of where Sienna lived. Sabrina had the feeling of having busted someone cheating—and that someone was none other than Sixth Master’s woman.

"Mila, did you just see that guy named Noah Phillips pass by in front?" Sabrina couldn’t believe her own eyes.

Sixth Master had only been in a coma a few days, and Sienna already couldn’t stand the loneliness?

"Mm." Barnes still responded sparingly, as always.

Sabrina said discontentedly, "What does ’mm’ mean? Did you see him or not?"

"I saw him."

"You saw him too?" Sabrina scratched her head of blond hair and said irritably, "So it wasn’t my hallucination. Madam’s first love really showed up..."

Barnes found it strange why Sabrina looked so on the verge of collapse and asked, "So what if Noah Phillips came?"

Sabrina said conspiratorially, "Mila, think about it. Sixth Master is in a coma right now, and we don’t even know if he’ll wake up. At a time like this, instead of staying by Sixth Master’s side, Madam calls over her first love in the middle of the night. Don’t you think Madam’s behavior is very suspicious?"

"It’s only eight o’clock." It wasn’t the middle of the night; there was still a long way to go before that.

"Mila, that’s not the point, okay? The point is, don’t you think Madam’s about to fool around behind his back?"

"What does ’fool around behind his back’ mean?"

Sabrina: ...

Looking at Barnes, whose brain never even bothered to take a detour, Sabrina really felt that it was actually nice to be simple—at least you didn’t have all her worries.

"It means Madam is sneaking around behind Sixth Master’s back and messing around with another man."

Barnes said, "Impossible."

"Why are you so sure?"

"Because Madam is pregnant. How can a pregnant woman mess around? It would make her lose the baby."

Sabrina: ...

Seeing Sabrina staring at him speechlessly, Barnes felt the other party was questioning his professionalism. "The expert said so."

"Experts? Experts are all dog shit, you didn’t know?"

"I didn’t know."

Sabrina felt increasingly unable to communicate with Mila. This man was getting more and more idiotic.

"Alright, you go back and eat your apple first. I’ve got to go take a look. Sixth Master is in a coma right now, and as Sixth Master’s man, while he’s unconscious I absolutely have to guard his Wife for him and not let his woman run off with another man."

Sabrina waved her hand and ran toward where Sienna lived. Barnes looked up at a forty-five-degree angle at the night sky, sighed, and still followed after Sabrina.

Sabrina thought he was dumb, but actually Sabrina was the truly dumb one.

If Sienna really wanted to have an affair, with Sienna’s IQ, how could she possibly bring the man home?

There were plenty of Sixth Master’s people here!

...

In the sitting room,

Sienna and Noah sat facing each other, a table between them. In front of Noah was a cup of black tea; in front of Sienna was a steaming hot glass of milk.

She hadn’t been sleeping well recently. Pauline Briggs no longer went out shopping; every day she focused on making all sorts of nutritious meals. As long as Sienna ate a few more bites, she could move Pauline to tears. Grandma recited scriptures every day to pray for Adrian Desmond, and aside from going to school, Samara stayed at home helping her with the child.

Sienna was moved by their efforts; her heart felt warm. After Adrian’s accident, at least her family firmly stayed by her side.

"Have you been having trouble sleeping lately?" Noah’s gaze fell on the milk in front of her.

Sienna smiled at Noah and didn’t hide it from him. "Mm, I’m really worried about Adrian, so I haven’t been sleeping well recently."

"Was it that guy called Night Owl who did this?"

"Mm."

Noah still remembered that after being locked in the basement by Night Owl, Night Owl had told him he liked Sienna. Could it be that Night Owl’s real target in going after Adrian was still Sienna?

"Has Night Owl been threatening you?"

"Mm."

"How is he threatening you?"

"He wants me to leave Adrian and go with him. Then he’ll give me the antidote and wake Adrian up."

Noah’s heart gave a violent jolt, and he asked, "So how did you answer him?"

"I refused."

Noah let out a breath of relief. Seeing that Sienna had lost a lot of weight lately and her face was haggard, he couldn’t help but feel distressed for her.

"He’s not trustworthy at all. Don’t believe him. I’ll help you with Adrian’s situation."

At this point Sienna couldn’t care about whether it was inappropriate or not. The Phillips Family’s network of connections was much stronger than the Johnson Family’s. If she could leverage Noah’s strength to find a doctor who could wake Adrian, that would be ideal.

Doctor X was not invincible. Just like at the beginning when he spread the virus, in the end, didn’t they still manage to develop an antibody for it?

She believed that even without going through Night Owl, they could still find the antidote.

"Brother, then I’ll leave it to you. As long as we can wake Adrian, I’m willing to pay an extremely high medical fee!"

Noah comforted her, "I’ve already sent people out to look. I believe we’ll have good news soon."

"Thank you."

"Didn’t you just call me Brother? Since you’re calling me Brother, why be so polite with me?"

Noah wasn’t stupid; how could he not hear the meaning behind Sienna’s repeated "Brother"? Since Sienna wanted to be siblings with him, then siblings it was.

"How have you been lately?"

"Pretty good." Noah smiled at her and sincerely apologized. "Don’t mind what my family said last time. They just got overanxious because they care... You know I’m the only son in the family..." As he spoke, Noah couldn’t go on.

"Brother should find a Wife too."

Noah smiled without answering and then asked about Samara, skillfully changing the subject. "How’s Samara doing?"

"She’s a silly kid. Already so grown up, yet she talks nonsense and caused a huge misunderstanding." Just mentioning Samara gave Sienna a headache. With that temperament, how could she ever feel at ease?

"Being simple is pretty good," Noah said.

"There are too many bad people. If you’re too simple, it’s easy to get fooled."

Noah looked at Sienna and said gently, "There are still more good people than bad in this world."

More good people than bad?

Then was she just especially unlucky to have run into that big demon Night Owl?

Noah sipped his tea. He’d been too busy with work these past two years, his stomach wasn’t great, and he rarely drank tea and the like.
