Chapter 216: Nothing External
Chapter 216: Nothing External
When the trio reappeared, they found themselves in the Original Haven. Kyron glanced around with mild curiosity, but there was little else in his expression—no excitement, no amazement, nothing at all.
He stayed silent, keeping close to Kaelthyr.
Ash turned to Kaelthyr with a smirk, his gaze flicking briefly to Kyron as he sized him up.
“So, what reward did you get?”

’What the hell? This kid is fucking broken!’ Ash thought as he caught sight of the expression on Kaelthyr’s face.
Kaelthyr’s lip twitched at the remark; it was never pleasant when someone knew your deepest secret—let alone asking about it in broad daylight as if it were nothing.
“Oh, come on, this is no place for secrets. We’re all family~” Ash said, wrapping his arms around Celeste, who seemed lost in her own thoughts. Like Kaelthyr, the sheer amount of knowledge and potential she’d gained was overwhelming.
So much so that she barely noticed Ash’s antics. Instead, she spoke with a hint of excitement.
“Um, Ash…” she murmured, only then realizing he was hugging her from behind. She blushed but didn’t push him away.
“Yes, my love?” he teased, his hands brushing along her arms and stomach.
“Hmph!” She pouted before speaking. “I’m going to train for a bit… I need to understand the depth of my powers.”
Without waiting, she vanished, returning to Astralis. It wasn’t far, as the world existed within Ash’s Cosmos, so he didn’t mind her sudden departure. He also understood her point—not everyone could instantly adapt to immense power.
“Well, now it’s just us. So, spill the beans, old man,” Ash said, glancing back at Kaelthyr.
Kaelthyr didn’t reply; instead, he revealed the items.
Before them appeared one essence, pure white, and another, a greyish black. Ash appraised them instantly, and upon reading their descriptions, he smiled.
“Were you perhaps planning on giving these to me?”
Kaelthyr stared at him with a straight face for a moment before starting to catch Ash’s drift.
He already knew that by giving these items to Ash, he’d end up with better versions in return. Still, much like with the Heart of Eternal Night, he wanted to use them himself.
It wasn’t really about competing with Ash—well, not entirely—but more about not wanting to look bad as a Master if his disciple kept outshining him.
Okay… maybe there was a little competition involved.
But since Ash knew about the system, Kaelthyr figured there had to be something deeper going on.
“Of course, brat. Think of it as a gift for helping your master back there,” he said with a smirk, putting extra emphasis on the word ’master.’ Ash shook his head at the man and accepted the items.
The moment he did…
[Ding!]
[Host, the given items have been enhanced a hundredfold]
HUMMMMM!!!!!!
In an instant, a crushing aura swept through the Haven, so intense that the island itself began to crack and splinter as if on the verge of imploding. Ash barely had to lift a finger—Elysia, with a mere thought, rewound the island’s time and froze it in place.
Everyone except Ash and Kaelthyr was locked in that moment.
Before them, two items materialized, identical in appearance to their previous forms, yet far denser, more primal in nature. Ash swiftly appraised them, duplicating them as he exchanged words with his Master, both wearing wide, satisfied grins.
[The Whim of Absolute Chance – The aura now twists causality to match even the faintest subconscious desires with near-perfect certainty when focused (up to 99.9%), reaching cosmic and conceptual scales—brief thoughts can spark universe-shaping events, link probabilities across realities, or momentarily break laws, turning passing whims into god-like feats.]
[Void Touched Tongue – Speech can wipe away ideas forever, stretching across the users mana sense range, stacking commands that pull apart abstract notions like time or space. Its echoes grow into a chorus of nothingness that spreads like a plague, with long-winded declarations capable of undoing concepts entirely.]
—
“That system of yours is impressive, where did you get it?” Ash asked, baffled. When he’d appraised it long ago, it had only been at the Divine rank, yet it somehow provided rewards beyond its own level.
“The Records… isn’t that the same place you got your cheats?” Kaelthyr said, brow raised. He still didn’t know exactly what Ash’s cheats were—
’Hell, he looks like the cheat himself!’ he thought, as Ash’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“The Records, huh?” Ash mused. He’d known they could grant almost anything, but back then, he hadn’t understood much about it, since it didn’t exist during the life of the Dragon of Absolute Endings, he was lost… well until recently.
“And no, I haven’t gotten anything from the records besides a title…” He smirked, realizing Kaelthyr was fishing for more information.
“You really want to know my cheat, huh?”
“It’s only fair,” Kaelthyr replied, making no attempt to hide his curiosity.
Ash’s smile widened before he said simply, “Just look at me, and look around. I’m the cheat… and this place is an even bigger one.”
With that, he said before strolling off, leaving Kaelthyr stunned along with his new disciple, “Alright, I’ve got something to take care of before my big entrance… You’ve already got your tattoo, so just do whatever you want.”
—–
When he reappeared, he was drifting in the endless void of his cosmos.
The trademark smile was gone, replaced by a frown and eyes as cold as the space around him. One might wonder what could have possibly happened so fast to cause such a change.
But it wasn’t about what happened suddenly—it was about what had been unfolding since his first weeks on Astralis.
And it all traced back to the Records… the Records of Eternity.
Ash despised nothing more than being manipulated, used, or subjected to anything resembling that nature. Right now, he felt that not just himself, but the entire Lower Dimension was being treated as pawns… no, not pawns—something far worse.
As he sat there, Elysia’s voice echoed in his mind.
[It truly doesn’t make sense. According to all history, the Records of Eternity first appeared in the 21st cycle… not long after your Third Incarnation died,] Elysia said, before continuing.
[And it’s not just that… it’s intricately connected to everything in the Lower Dimension—worlds, galaxies, and anything cultivating mana. It’s reached the point where even new Progenitors have fallen under its thumb.]
[From what I can tell… it’s not merely granting power to beings but assimilating every single existence into its records. Why? I don’t know, but it’s been happening for 26 cycles now.]
Ash exhaled slowly, hearing it all again. They had discussed this before, which was exactly why he was so furious.
“Something’s not right, though… These Records were meant to give ’power’ to those who accomplished extraordinary feats. Yet, not to brag… I’ve done some pretty insane things.”
[I was going to say this earlier… I think we’re being watched, monitored by something or someone—whoever is controlling the Records. I’m not sure why or what’s really happening, but we need to get rid of anything connected to the Records, including your titles and two important things created through them.]
[First, the Primavus Race needs to be redefined—it’s tainted with an aura only the Records could give. Second… me, your Nexus.]
