Chapter 1109: Dreams, Desire, and Diplomacy [Part 3]

“It seems that you’ve made Prince Aurelion fall head over heels for you,” Arthur said with a smirk. “As expected of my grandson.”

“Gramps, I don’t care about the Dragonkins. But I plan to ally myself with House Pavareth, the Skavari, the Azrakith Court, and the Velmoria Kingdom,” Zia replied. “I just need to find a way for them to leave Velmusa City safely, so they can come to my side.”

Arthur nodded before telling him the second piece of news that only the upper echelons of the Alliance knew.

“The Artemians reached out to us for an alliance,” Arthur stated.

“Against the Jinns?” Zia frowned.

“Yes. Against the Jinns.” Arthur smiled faintly. “Their new Commander goes by the name Lysander, and he is open to any conditions in the negotiations.”

The young lady’s frown deepened. After all, the Artemians were a tricky race. The Jinns were easier to understand since they were generally simple-minded—all they wanted was conquest.

But the Artemians?

They might be hiding a dagger behind their back while offering an apple with their free hand.

Not to mention, she really couldn’t bring herself to like or trust them. With them around, there would always be a threat of them potentially abducting Shana and Princess Aracelle in order to sire more Golden Azothralls.

Of course, multiple preparations were already made to prevent this from happening.

Although Thirteen hadn’t thought that far, the only children that he wanted them to bear were his children and no one else’s.

Truth be told, Thirteen felt a little complicated. He never really thought that there would come a time when he would become a father. However, his mind couldn’t help but stray in that direction whenever he thought about the Artemians.

“I can already tell that you don’t like the idea of allying with the Artemians,” Arthur commented after seeing Zia’s reaction.

“The Artemians are dangerous enemies, but they are capable allies as well.” Zia shrugged. “If we make enough preparations, we will be able to prevent any backstabbing from happening.”

“Hold your friends close and your enemies closer.” Arthur smiled. “So you don’t mind if we agree to being allies with them?”

“I’m sure that the Alliance has already made a decision,” Zia replied. “As much as possible, I don’t want my words or mood to affect the decision made by the adults. After all, I am still young, Gramps. It will not be good if you need to ask for my input all the time.”

“Indeed.” Arthur agreed wholeheartedly. “We are too dependent on you. It’s about time to pick up our slack. So, I assume that you will be moving independently and leave the strategy to Renz?”

“Yes,” Zia answered.

“Very well, I will tell the others about your input,” Arthur said, looking at his grandson with a serious expression on his face. “Thank you, Zion, for everything that you have done for us, especially for the Leventis Family.”

“It’s not for free, you know?” Zia smirked. “I need you guys to be strong, so I can do some reckless things. As long as you guys can clean my mess, all my effort will be worth it.”

“Just don’t do anything that will put your life in any danger,” Arthur replied. “As long as you are alive, the Leventis Family will remain the strongest force in Pangea.”

Sherry and Princess Aracelle, who were both listening to the conversation, agreed with what Arthur had said.

As long as Zion was alive, the Leventis Family would continue to soar above the skies.

“By the way, I’m not really in a hurry, but…” Arthur trailed off for a bit. “I’m sure your grandmother will be happy if you let her hug your children five years from now.”

“So specific?” Zia wondered what the five-year time limit was for.

“It’s because after this war ends, we plan to have another child once again,” Arthur said. “After all, I feel like I can still do it.”

The corner of Zia’s lips twitched, but she didn’t find anything wrong with Arthur’s statement.

After becoming a Monarch, his lifespan and life force had increased drastically, which meant that it was possible for him and Lady Callista to be blessed with a child once more.

In fact, it was highly possible that they would have more children if they went at it like rabbits.

“Just do things in moderation, Gramps,” Zia advised. “I don’t want to call several kids younger than me Aunt and Uncle.”

A chuckle escaped Arthur’s lips because he could already see that happening.

The two talked for a few more minutes before the call finally ended.

“Did you hear that?” Zia glanced at her fiancees with a smile. “My grandfather wants to see his great-grandkids in five years.”

Sherry and Princess Aracelle exchanged knowing smiles with each other.

Both of them nodded at the same time.

Clearly, they also wished for that to happen when the world becomes a much more peaceful place to live in.

“What will you do now, Zion?” Sherry asked before hugging her beloved. “You are going to act independently?”

“Yes,” Zia answered. “The Wanderers need to make their own decisions. I can’t always dictate to them about what to do. Relying on one person is very dangerous for our world. What if something happens to me? Will humanity just fall apart?”

The God of Wanderers, The One, had always wished for Thirteen to take the backseat and let the Wanderers grow.

However, it didn’t change the fact that he was their Trump Card if everything else fails.

Laplace Demon also knew it, so they gave Thirteen some benefits, and even turned a blind eye on some of the things he did.

Thirteen also knew this and had deliberately broke into some gray areas, knowing the God of Wanderers would turn a blind eye because the world needed his help.

In return, he was also happy to give a lending hand, especially when the Wanderers were in the losing end.

But for now, he planned to keep a low profile, especially since his current condition prevented him from doing 80% of what he needed to do.

At that exact moment, somewhere in Pangea, Lucan had also made a decision that would affect the war in ways that no one saw coming.
