Chapter 1108: Dreams, Desire, and Diplomacy [Part 2]

“Say, if I give you my life essence regularly, will you swear to be a loyal ally to me and me alone?” Zia asked, which almost made Princess Xynalia choke on her saliva.

“W-What?!” Princess Xynalia asked, stuttering. “What do you mean by that?”

“I want the Velmoria Royal Family as my ally,” Zia repeated. “However, they will not be the ally of the Wanderers, but my exclusive ally.

“Simply put, although you will keep your status of neutrality, you will always support me in my decisions. Aside from Princess Laventia, you are the one who has the final word on your faction, right?”

“W-Well, you’re not wrong,” Princess Xynalia replied. “I am indeed the one who has the last word in our faction.”

“Then good.” Zia nodded. “Do you accept my proposal?”

Princess Xynalia wasn’t able to reply right away. As much as she wanted to give her answer, there was a lump in her throat that blocked her from saying anything.

Feelings aside, would it really be okay if she made an important decision on a whim?

Would she really jump on Zion’s bandwagon in exchange for his life essence?

’I’m the worst,’ Princess Xynalia thought, cupping her face with her hands. ’I almost agreed due to my selfishness.’

“I’m afraid I cannot make that decision right away,” Princess Xynalia said as soon as she managed to regain her composure. “I need to talk to my sister and my Aunt. Also, I don’t think they will agree if I tell them that we are going to ally with you and only you in exchange for your life essence.

“I mean, isn’t that strange? Just for your life essence? Do you really think that the succubus race will move for such a reason?”

“Then you don’t want it?” Zia asked calmly.

’I didn’t say that I didn’t want it!’ Princess Xynalia screamed internally, but she held her ground. “This is not that simple, Zia. Do not forget that I cannot be selfish. The lives of my people depend on my decision.”

Seeing how firm she was, Zia no longer insisted and told her that she could discuss her proposal with her sister and aunt.

“If you have other conditions, feel free to tell me,” Zia stated. “I will seriously consider them.”

The Succubus Race might just become the greatest ally that humanity would ever have.

The union between them and the Wanderers could lead to a generation of super humans, which could boost the chances of humanity in fending off any invasion if they were given a decade or two.

There was a reason why Thirteen wished to pull them in his camp alone, rather than the Wanderers’—not all humans were good people.

They said that the path to hell was always paved with good intentions, and this was one of those instances.

No matter how noble the goal, depending on how it was executed, one might become a sinner instead of a savior.

If the Succubus Race agreed to be under Zion alone, his name would serve as an effective deterrent, preventing others from taking advantage of them. After all, no one would dare touch those who were exclusively under Zion, even if they were humans.

The Leventis Family was now a Sovereign Family with two Monarchs and two Thrones.

This would make people think thrice about antagonizing them.

“Thank you for giving me your time,” Zia said before standing up. “I’ll wait for your reply. Remember, if you have any additional conditions, we can discuss them once you’ve talked with your sister and aunt.”

After saying those words, Thirteen left the room, leaving Princess Xynalia behind.

Once she had confirmed that the young lady was no longer around, the princess slid down the couch and lay down on top of it.

“How can he say such things with such a straight face?” Princess Xynalia muttered while cupping her cheeks. “Is it because he is already experienced with women?”

Now that she thought about it, she felt like Zia was just leading her by the nose. Perhaps, she only teased her about the life essence, as it truly sounded like a joke.

Thinking back to their topic, the young lady’s main goal must’ve been to dig out the conditions the Succubbus Race would put forward in exchange for an exclusive alliance.

’Even so, why would he say something like that?’ Princess Xynalia sighed. ’Is he just teasing me? Or is he serious?’

The princess also hated herself for almost saying yes earlier. Fortunately, she had been trained since she was young to always be careful of making promises or agreeing to things because her words carried real power.

After all, she was a princess. If things went smoothly, her mother will pass on her full inheritance, thus making her the next Succubus Queen.

’I wonder what my sister and aunt will say once I tell them the words that Zia told me?’ Princess Xynalia mused. ’Will they laugh? Or will they take it seriously?’

The more the princess thought about it, the more embarrassed she became.

———

After Zia left the princess’ room, she once again focused her concentration on her pinky finger.

’Their color has become a little stronger than before,’ Zia thought.

After he had confronted Stella and Princess Xynalia, their threads that were barely visible at first gained a little bit more color in it.

However, it was still fleeting and would disappear as soon as she stopped her concentration.

A few minutes later, she reunited with Sherry and Princess Aracelle because she needed them to operate his communicator for him.

He needed to talk to many people, and since electronic and magical devices didn’t seem to work around him, he had no choice but to ask them for help.

The first person he contacted was none other than her grandfather, Arthur, telling him that she was already awake.

“It’s good to see that you are awake. I need to tell you something very important,” Arthur said.

However, he hesitated after he was informed that Sherry and Princess Aracelle were in the same room as Zia.

“It’s fine, Gramps,” Zia said. “They are my fiancees. They will keep my secrets.”

“Hah… fine.” Arthur sighed and told his no-good grandson about the things that happened during the time that he was in a coma.
