Chapter 2217: More Fun.
Chapter 2217: More Fun.
“But the Seer wasn’t the only help I was talking about.”
Orravyn spoke up, once again attracting the attention of the entire room.
“There is someone else.
Someone… even stranger than the Seer.
Someone who… definitely has a connection with the Anomaly.”
And the instant he said those words, the Infinities in the room narrowed their eyes as they all thought of just one being.
A being they had not been considering till now.
“Are you… talking about *him?*”
Equarios asked in a solemn tone.
It was a question he already knew the answer to.
“You want to… seek *his* help?”
Seraphielle couldn’t believe it either.
“Don’t be foolish, Orravyn.”
Ul’Thakar directly called out, not holding back his words.
“The Fifth Infinity is clearly together with the Anomaly. If it weren’t for him protecting him the first time, when the Anomaly was probably at his weakest, he would have been our prisoner by now, and in our hands, there would have been knowledge that none of us currently has access to.
The knowledge of a Universe’s God, the knowledge to travel through Universes, the knowledge to…
Take over and reign over ALL the Universes in existence!”
Ul’Thakar raised his voice; the entire room began to flutter as his words echoed strongly, reacting to his intense emotions.
Every time Ul’Thakar thought about that day — the day when that crimson-eyed man broke their connection with the Universe and looked at them without a shred of fear in his eyes —
Even today, even after centuries had passed, Ul’Thakar still remembered his words.
’What are you looking at?
Scram.’
Yes.
The word *Scram* was used.
*Scram.*
Never once in his long life had Ul’Thakar been disrespected in such a manner, and that too, by a being who…
Who was nothing more than a replacement for True Chaos, a little creation made to fill the void Zylarith Chaosveil left.
What that man did wasn’t impressive.
Yes, he managed to break their connection with the Universe, but that was because that connection led them all to him.
More than him breaking their connection with the Universe, it was much more accurate to interpret it as—he… hid himself from them.
As an Infinity, to some degree, one automatically earns the Authority to interact with the Universe’s Will on a personal level. He used that Authority to ’request’ the Universe to stop them from looking into him through their connection, and the Universe agreed.
That was all there was to it.
There was nothing brave or grand about it.
Even when Ul’Thakar and the other Infinities acted shocked after this happened, it wasn’t due to the fact someone broke their connection with the Universe.
While the news of there being a Fifth Infinity did somewhat surprise them — the main reason they were surprised was because some being dared to show them such arrogance.
Even today, when they, especially Ul’Thakar, recall that day, he wants nothing more than to tear that arrogant man into pieces, flesh by flesh, and turn him into a living figurine who could only watch as he destroys everything he held precious one by one, every single year.
“That bastard won’t help us! He has no reason to help us. Instead, he would alert the Anomaly of our plans beforehand, making it even more difficult to counterattack against him.”
Ul’Thakar snorted, still feeling the same anger he felt that day, and once again, Equarios backed his words.
“Indeed. The Fifth Infinity might not help.”
But this time…
“It… might be worth a try.”
Seraphielle thought differently, and Orravyn nodded at her words.
“The Universe reacted strongly the first time the Anomaly moved, but even then, none of us knew that the Anomaly was from another Universe.
How do we know that the Fifth Infinity wasn’t the same?”
He asked, looking at the Entities of Balance and Darkness.
“Are you saying…”
Entity of Balance narrowed his eyes.
“What if the Anomaly fooled him first?”
Orravyn came up with another theory.
“The Fifth Infinity is the youngest of all the Infinities. He doesn’t have enough resources, nor does he have access to the knowledge that we do.
Not to mention… he is aware of our existence; he is also aware that his very presence is a threat to us, the strongest existences in the entire Universe.
Imagine waking up as him and knowing that the four strongest beings in the Universe wish for your death, and the only thing you can do is hide from them.
Whatever the Fifth Infinity is, in the end, he too is an Infinity. The pride and arrogance that come with being an Infinity must be instilled in him too.
For a being like him to live almost all his life hidden from the rest of the Universe, that too, when he holds the power to rule over that very Universe —
It must not be an easy life.
A life like that would… make anyone desperate for… outside help.”
“So you are saying the Anomaly, knowing all this, approached him and he decided to team up with him? Team up with a being from another Universe who is here to destroy ours?”
Ul’Thakar raised his eyebrow.
“He doesn’t have to know that the Anomaly is from another Universe.”
Orravyn answered quickly, not letting Ul’Thakar think further.
“As I said, in the situation he was in, the Fifth Infinity must be desperate, and in desperate times, children often take… desperate measures.
The Fifth Infinity must have felt alone, he must be aware of our existence, and maybe… maybe he one day encountered the Seer, another existence he wasn’t able to comprehend.
What perception do you think he would have formed?
He must have thought there were still many things in the Universe that he could not comprehend — which was true. Even today, even we do not completely understand our Universe.
And during a time like this, when another being, just as odd as the Seer, appears before him, offering help — what do you think he would do?
He doesn’t need to know who the Anomaly actually is. As long as the Anomaly somehow showed him that he was ’different’, that he was… someone who could help him stand tall, together with the four of us —
It wouldn’t be surprising if the two of them… cooperated.
And who knows?
Maybe that cooperation has already ended.
We have never seen the Fifth Infinity after that incident, now have we?
Maybe it was just a one-time agreement, maybe the Fifth Infinity unveiled the truth about the Anomaly — anything could have happened.
What I am saying is, we do not have to consider the Fifth Infinity as our enemy. At least not now, when things are unclear.”
“He helped the Anomaly the first time, when it was the easiest to deal with him.”
Ul’Thakar still couldn’t forget that day. If that fool hadn’t acted back then, they wouldn’t be gathered here in such a manner, having such a long discussion.
“Maybe he made a mistake.”
Orravyn countered.
“We do not know for sure.
What we *do* know for sure is that the Anomaly and the Fifth Infinity are not on the same side — at least not now.
If they were, the Fifth Infinity would have allowed the Anomaly to devour him and join his immortal army instead.
Imagine facing an Infinity who cannot die until we erase him in every possible way — no matter how weak he is, that would be a nightmare to face.
Add the Anomaly beside him and… suddenly, our odds of victory fall considerably.”
Orravyn paused as he looked at all the Infinities gathered here, then, with a slow, solemn tone, he continued—
“The Anomaly’s and the Fifth Infinity’s goals do not align. They are not permanent allies; they can never be, since the Anomaly probably wants to rule over our Universe, and the Fifth Infinity’s ego would never let him be satisfied with being the Anomaly’s second-in-command.
If he were like that, he would have joined any one of us, helped us defeat the other three, and ruled as the second-in-command.”
As Orravyn completed his words, for a moment, silence spread over the hall.
“So… what do you think is the Fifth Infinity’s goal?”
Seraphielle asked in an uncertain, doubtful voice, and Orravyn… he shrugged.
“How am I supposed to know that?”
He answered calmly, but Ul’Thakar just snorted at that answer.
“Who are you lot fooling?
His goal?
He is an Infinity like us!
Probably even more arrogant than all of us, since in his life, he has never once met his match.
What do *you* think his goal is?
It is the Universe.”
The Entity of Darkness declared.
“He, just like us and the Anomaly, wishes to claim the Universe in one way or the other.”
“So all the more reason he cannot be the Anomaly’s permanent ally, now isn’t it?”
Entity of Eternity smiled at those words, and Darkness… he just snorted.
“You are adding more variables to your little equation.”
Orravyn’s smile, however, just widened even further.
“The more the variables, the more complex the equation, and the more complex it is—
The more fun it will be to solve.
Don’t you think?”
