Chapter 601 Nathan's Opponent
“Bam!”
The appearance of Evelyn startled everyone, including all the grandmasters. No one expected to find a person at this level appearing out of nowhere. In addition, she waited right when the guy focused on Nathan to launch a sneak attack. There was no way the guy could react, especially with that big gap in power.
‘Who?’ The other grandmaster instantly raised his guard to the maximum. Even if he was going to die, he had to hold on long enough. He believed the leader would come sooner or later.
It was probably because of this reason that Evelyn chose to retreat instead of taking on another grandmaster.
At the same time, Nathan knew that Evelyn wanted them to fight the grandmasters themselves. This way, they would have a good experience before fighting the Divine Hand.
Hence, Evelyn retreated in an instant, waiting for the so-called leader to arrive.
Nathan smiled, knowing his role. He formed multiple bullets and started shooting at the people.
“Ahhh!”
“He is attacking!”
“Stop him!”
The people panicked. Those who were just normal people were scared since they couldn’t do anything against the enemies. On the other hand, the summoners charged without hesitation, ganging up on Nathan.
Unfortunately for them, Nathan spread his bullet and attacked them at once. The summoners and their familiars blocked the bullets, only some of them suffering minor injuries. Then they continued to chase after him.
Little did they know, Nathan had bought enough time with that single burst. He used his new footwork and leaped. His step was light like a feather, increasing his speed drastically.
“Catch him!” The summoners shouted, ordering their familiars and the surrounding people to surround him.
Nathan ignored them as he had reached his destination. With the wall gone, he could clearly see all his targets.
“I’m here to help.” Nathan smiled and shot the summoner along with her familiars.
The ox moved forward and swung his giant hammer, destroying a lot of his bullets. However, other bullets were skillfully looped around him, hitting the other familiars.
The familiars reacted at the last second, blocking the bullets themselves. The middle-aged woman panicked, knowing that she couldn’t handle these two by herself.
Luckily for her, several summoners were right behind Nathan.
“Kill him!”
“His back is exposed.”
Two of the summoners were fast enough to reach Nathan right after he shot those bullets, only to find a huge black hole in the remaining wall. This black hole suddenly emerged from the wall in the form of a mouth, swallowing both of them along with two of their familiars.
Other summoners and familiars panicked as they had never seen such a monster before.
“Keep attacking!” The middle-aged woman shouted.
Nathan shot his bullets once more, this time, the woman was his target. At the same time, two of Sonia’s familiars joined the fight.
Three familiars, excluding the ox, returned to their summoner, protecting her.
Seeing Nathan continue to the old woman, Sonia realized he actually wanted to fight her himself, but the problem was Nathan couldn’t summon his familiars since it would give out his identity.
Although they were planning to kill everyone here, there were some people they needed to rescue, so it would be best not to create a variable.
At the same time, Sonia turned around and slashed her dagger downward as the shadow extended her slash, killing another summoner that had just reached the third floor.
“Tsk.” Sonia clicked her tongue. “Aren’t you supposed to handle them?”
The ox charged at Sonia since she was distracted. However, Nathan shot the ox with his bullets, forcing the ox to put on a defensive stance.
To his surprise, the bullets curved and shifted their target from the ox to the communication device in the room, hitting them with enough force to destroy it.
“Well, it seems no one will know about this attack.” Nathan smirked.
“You…” The old woman raised her eyebrows.
“I’ll take care of her myself. You should go and do your job,” said Nathan with a condescending tone.
“What? That’s impossible. You can’t…” Sonia wanted to reject. Even though Nathan was cunning and his strength had increased tremendously, he wasn’t strong enough to be called a grandmaster level summoner. Besides, he couldn’t summon his familiars to help him, which decreased his odds drastically.
That was why she doubted Nathan could win against the old woman. And in fact, even Nathan knew his winning chance was zero… in a frontal battle, that is.
Nathan smirked. “Have I ever said something I couldn’t accomplish?”
“!!!” Sonia was astounded. Now that she thought about it, Nathan had always promised something he could accomplish. There wasn’t a single time he made such a boast but it turned out to be empty talk.
If Nathan said he would fight this woman, it meant he had the ability to fight or even defeat that woman.
Sonia couldn’t help but recall how they misjudged him and didn’t trust him enough, which caused a small rift between them. If not for Evelyn, that rift might remain.
It appeared she had no other choice but to trust Nathan on this one.
Sonia immediately shrouded herself with darkness while shouting, “I’m counting on you!”
“You can’t leave!” The middle-aged woman hurriedly sent forth the ox to stop her while her other familiars stopped their respective opponents.
However, Sonia simply recalled her familiars, while Nathan used the explosive bullet to knock the ox into the wall.
Boom!
“!!!” The middle-aged woman bit her lips, looking at Nathan.
He stood between them and the door while summoning his bullets. “Well, old lady. I hope you don’t mind having a youngster accompanying you.”
“You’re too complacent of yourself.” The woman clenched her fists while glancing around, wondering where Nathan’s familiars were.
“You don’t have to look around. You won’t see a single one of my familiars.” Nathan smirked.
“Huh?” The old woman was startled. She had four familiars at the same level as her, so the battle would be decided in an instant.
And that was when Nathan smiled. “I’m telling you, I alone am enough to defeat you.”
