“Do you want to be the first one to start?” Evelyn asked. “It looks like you have worked hard in the past few weeks. Not only do you now have a high amount of ena, but the ena around you seems to be more stabilized.”

It appeared Evelyn was asking him to check his current power. In the end, increasing one’s ena tremendously wouldn’t be too beneficial.

While the nobles could feed their sons or daughters with a bunch of cores, they wouldn’t have the technique to utilize them.

In other words, the ena would be useless inside of them. In exchange, consuming a large number of cores will take time as well.

Nathan only got a few tens of cores, but it already took him close to three days to absorb everything. What if he got a hundred mature class cores instead? It might take close to a week.

The same applied to other noble kids. They and their familiars definitely had the resources to have 10,000 ena, but if they had to swallow hundreds, if not thousands, of cores at once, they would need a few weeks to absorb all of them.

Meanwhile, other kids would take only some cores that they deemed to be enough while using the rest to polish their battle experience or even learn a new technique.

That was why the nobles didn’t give their kids too many cores, even if they could. They had to balance the amount of cores and their training if they wanted them to be strong.

It wasn’t like they could just give them a higher level core since their bodies couldn’t withstand it.

Hence, Evelyn gave him this task to test whether Nathan had the skill to use all those 100,000 ena within him or not. And Nathan took on this challenge.

“Sure. I’m pretty curious about my current abilities as well.” Nathan smiled. He closed his eyes for a few seconds while taking a few calm breaths.

“!!!” Evelyn noticed what was going on, as she couldn’t help but think, ‘So, his teacher has finally given him a breathing technique? The circulation of his ena has become much more stable now. And from the way he moves, his footsteps become much lighter.

Nathan wasn’t aware of Evelyn’s thought as he was too absorbed in the movement of his ena.

As he expected, the breathing technique had indeed increased the stability of his ena. Although he hadn’t mastered it yet, this small improvement was enough to fix what he was lacking in one of his abilities.

And that was the explosive bullets.

Nathan poured out his ena, forming forty explosive bullets. Previously, his control would have a hard time handling them, but the new stability of his ena flow not only gave him complete control but also the chance to take the next step.

Nathan joined his hands together, which forced these forty explosive bullets to merge with each other.

Bella noticed that the fused explosive bullet became even more unstable. Even Nathan had a hard time controlling them.

Still, this explosive bullet felt similar to the ferocity of Revon’s ena.

Evelyn looked satisfied.

The city itself was quite big. Normally, it could be compared to a big city in those kingdoms, but the gloomy atmosphere, as well as the cracked buildings, made it look like a slum instead of a proper city.

“Fortunately, the building is looking like a mansion with proper fences around it. You can go wild within the fences. Just make sure not to hit anything outside. A lot of people here are criminals, but it is by no means all of them.” Evelyn pointed at the building. “Blast them.”

“Understood.” Nathan nodded and sent forth the new explosive bullets toward the building.

Seeing the attacks, Sonia immediately clad herself in her own shadow. She sank into the shadow while saying, “I will be going first.”

The people from the Black Cat Organization couldn’t help but feel astounded by the bullets coming from the sky.

“What is that?”

“Shooting star?”

“But it’s coming toward us…”

“Wait. Is that ena?”

“Watch out!”

The people who recognized it hurriedly shouted, but unfortunately, they were too late.

Several people, who had a much higher level, hurriedly woke up and rushed outside, shocked to find the attack.

They summoned their familiars while creating their own barriers.

Unfortunately for them, these explosive bullets were not something they could easily stop anymore.

The moment the explosive bullets hit, they created a series of explosions, which were at least three times bigger than Nathan’s normal explosive bullets.

Some of the summoners or familiars that tried to block it found their barrier crushed as they were blown away. Some bullets that managed to slip past them hit the building and destroyed it.

The normal people could only see such a thing. If they were close enough, their bodies were basically blasted by such a powerful force that it wouldn’t be weird for them to die on the spot or have their body parts missing. Some rubble fell on top of a few men and ultimately killed them. Some who were much farther away were devastated, wondering what would happen to them if they were closer.

“Ahhhh!”

“Help!”

“It hurts!”

The night was immediately filled with explosions and screams, alerting the entire city.

Revon and Neyeid exchanged looks before nodding their heads.

“We’ll be going and taking down their leader.” They leaped toward them, taking advantage of the confusion.

“If that’s the case, I will handle the one who claims to be the lord of this city then.” Bella put on a mask that covered her eyes and nose while still leaving her mouth out so that she could inhale the tobacco.

“Let me assist you in handling the rest of them.” Christopher also put on his mask that covered his entire body before both of them leaped away, leaving Nathan and Evelyn behind.

“You’re going to stay here, Captain?” Nathan smirked, teasing her.

“Yeah. As planned.” She nodded while crossing her arms. “But I should be the one asking that question.”

“I’m here so that I can get a good grasp on everyone’s ability in case we need to change our plan.” Nathan shrugged.
