Chapter 1191: Suspicion
Chapter 1191: Suspicion
Nathan shot his attack at the same time. Because they were in different directions, Bell Crusher panicked for a second.
‘What?’ Bell Crusher hurriedly rang the bell, the sound trying to disperse the energy.
Yet the attacks remained solid. There was no energy that became unstable.
They all curved toward their own targets.
“Not good. Watch out!” Bell shouted.
His familiars hurriedly released their respective shields. No matter how weird this attack is, it shouldn’t be enough to pass all of them. They had an overwhelming numerical advantage after all.
However, the moment the bullet hit the barrier, the bullet suddenly splattered as if it were in liquid form. The bullet then melted their barriers.
“!!!” Bell Crusher widened his eyes. ‘It melts…’
Nathan changed the guns’ directions again, this time focusing everything on the summoner itself.
“Go!”
The eight guns released the bullets in rapid succession.
“Protect me.” Bell panicked. He had seen how Nathan was able to melt his bell with that flamethrower, so after seeing how his familiars’ barriers melted, he thought the same thing would occur.
Several layers of barrier appeared in front of him, but they were corroded quickly, creating holes that would lead to Bell.
“Kh.” Bell patched the hole with his black weapon.
The poison bullet corroded the black bell, but the latter regenerated at the same pace as the corrosion. No, it might be even faster.
Sniper released another volley of attacks to support Bell. One of the guns suddenly flew in front of Nathan.
Nathan grabbed it before it flew away, bringing Nathan with it.
As a result, Sniper’s attacks missed.
“Explosion Bullets.” Nathan changed from a normal bullet to an explosion bullet. The guns pointed up and launched the bullets like a mortar.
When it was about to hit the target, the bullet exploded, scattering the poison in all directions.
Sniper and Bell Crusher hurriedly blocked it, but their movements were halted for a second.
“…” Sniper couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. He started feeling something was wrong. ‘What is this? We are the ones chasing him, and if we manage to catch up to him and surround him, we will win.
‘However, we haven’t made much progress. If we take too low, there’s a chance that the enemy will use the space element…
‘Don’t tell me, this was his plan all along? They drag Soul and Alex away far enough that they could kill us and then return to the village with the space element before Soul and Alex could even return to the village from their current location?
‘How many minutes do we have?’ Sniper shuddered. The moment he figured out Nathan’s intention, he realized Nathan was much more terrifying than he originally thought. All this time, he had been one step ahead of him.
‘However, how are we going to take him down? He has been moving at such a speed while fending off our attack… Even Bell is having a hard time stopping his counterattack.
‘Those attacks don’t even get affected by Bell’s power, which means it’s a physical attack instead of one imbued with energy.
‘Fiend is having an easier time, but he has summoned his familiar this whole time, so his enemies have gotten used to his attack.
‘More importantly, this guy hasn’t used his Crystal Armor the whole time. He doesn’t even summon all his familiars.
‘He is toying with us…’ Sniper didn’t know what was going on. They should have won this battle already, but whenever they tried to do something, Nathan just had enough of something to stop it.
Bloody Fiend had hit Nathan multiple times, but thanks to his familiars, those attacks didn’t provide any advantage. Sniper had shot him, but none of the attacks were good enough to deal heavy injury. Bell was too focused on the familiar before, but Nathan had powerful physical attacks.
Sniper gritted his teeth before shouting, “Bell, focus on the summoners. Fiend, you have to break through!”
“!!!” Bell and Bloody Fiend frowned. They truly had to break this stalemate. If they were too careful, they wouldn’t be able to kill Nathan in a short time.
In the end, they changed their approach.
Bell forced his way toward Nathan with all his familiars.
Nathan aimed the guns below. Instead of poison, the guns poured out high-pressure water.
Four of the guns went straight to Bell. The latter put his bell in front. Unlike the poison, the water wasn’t enough to destroy the bell, but the pressure was enough to stop him in his tracks.
Still, the other familiars were coming, so this was enough for Bell. Bell even rang it and struck Nathan directly.
“!!!” Nathan could feel his energy being disturbed and had no way of utilizing his ena. While struggling, Nathan managed to shoot two poison bullets at the bell, which stopped the ringing.
Unfortunately for him, Bell’s familiars had caught up to him. Nathan wanted to get away by letting Orochi bring him away, but Sniper rained down on the surrounding areas, blocking Nathan’s escape route.
“!!!” Nathan glanced at Sniper, who was looking at him in contempt. He was telling him, ‘If you want to run, do it. You will die.’
At the same time, Mae gritted her teeth.
“Go!” Bloody Fiend shouted, using Gehenna to trap Mae by himself. His familiars made their way toward Nathan.
With this, Nathan had no escape route.
“…” Nathan assessed his current situation. ‘It looks like there’s no stopping this. I have no choice but to unleash one of my cards…
‘Holding them back is too hard for me, but showing too much will have an undesirable effect. In that case, I should do that…’
“Thanks, Orochi. Time to change.” Nathan muttered. The eight guns were replaced by gloves. Yes, it was not a gun but equipment. It was weird, especially since Evelyn had suggested he use the same weapons to maintain his fighting style.
But there was no gun that could match Qilin.
Nathan bent his knees and placed his hand on the ground. A trigram appeared underneath him as he activated one of the contracts in his contract storage.
[In exchange for 1,000 ena, Nathan is allowed to use the ability of Blink (allowing the user to teleport within 30 meters (97 feet) for 30 minutes.]
‘Let’s show some bullshit with our actions.’ Nathan made it look like the trigram was the culprit and teleported away from the encirclement.
“!!!”
