Chapter 1136 - 1136: A Warning
The journey was actually safer than the trip to the North Pole. For some reason, there were no high-level aliens coming their way even though they faced two elite class aliens on their way to the North Pole.
It might be due to Cthulhu’s help, but the group managed to travel for several days without facing much hardship. Although the guard duty still remained, they didn’t spend as much ena.
Meanwhile, Nathan holed himself up in his room whenever he had free time. Talking to Cthulhu had opened up a whole new world for him, so he was eager to explore it.
“Still, using the fragment itself to fuse with the summoner, huh?” Fenrir squinted his eyes. “Am I going inside you or something?”
“We don’t know yet.” Anubis shook his head. “However, I think this is something worth learning.”
“Well, after knowing that I’m just a fragment of my existence, it’s quite disappointing, but the situation itself is quite interesting, isn’t it?”
“What do you mean?” Anubis frowned.
“I’m talking about our existence becoming real.” Fenrir grinned. “Think about it. If we are just a fragment of existence, why are we still able to evolve?
“If we are just information stored in that fragment, why can we go farther than the stored information?”
“!!!” Anubis forgot about this. If they evolved, it meant they had surpassed the existence recorded in the database. What would happen then?
Their strength was real. They had to agree on that point. It was clear that their existence was in the realm between fragmented existence and real existence.
Anubis contemplated for a moment before muttering, “It looks like we can actually go beyond what we are.”
“That’s right. Although I don’t know how, it’s clear we first have to surpass our old selves, especially that evolution. If we can evolve one more time, we might be able to figure out the way.
“Besides, true gods are positions shrouded in mystery, so there is still a chance for us to become real.” Fenrir nodded.
“To think that you are able to come up with something like this…” Anubis gasped.
“What the hell are you thinking? It looks like you’re looking down on me. Do you want me to beat you up?” Fenrir gritted his teeth.
“Even though you are a fenrir.”
“Oi! Don’t make it look like I am an entirely new species! I’m going to kill you.”
While Fenrir and Anubis bickered with each other, Jinwu had been listening to their conversation and added, “Summoner. Do you think you can achieve all that?”
Nathan shook his head. “That is not the problem. I have to do it. That’s the only way for me to beat up that singularity.
“However, it doesn’t mean we’ll trust the aliens unconditionally. Even if we somehow defeat the singularity, there’s a chance for us to fight against the aliens as well.
“So, having many true gods on our side will allow us to contend with their outer gods.
“Regarding whether you are real or not, I have told Mae the same thing. You are already real to me. But if you still think you are not real, I will do my best to fulfill my duty as your summoner.”
“Summoner…” Jinwu felt moved. If this were another person, their words wouldn’t be so convincing. It might even be just their way of reassuring them.
However, this was Nathan. Nathan had always fulfilled his promise, even if it was something he had casually said.
To be able to promise such a grand thing as if it was a natural thing to do, Nathan was probably the only one who could do it.
Jinwu secretly thought that he might consider serving him as his master, like Mae or Kun.
“Still, I don’t think learning this new ability will be bad for you, Master.” Mae sat down next to him.
“What do you mean?”
“I’m talking about us. We are divine beasts. Even though their ways of summoning are different, they still summon humanoid familiars.
“If you summon us there, it might become troublesome. They will start questioning where a summoner like you popped out from.
“The biggest problem is that you already have 8 familiars. If I’m not wrong, once we all have 1,000,000 ena, you are planning to summon your ninth and tenth familiars, right?
“That’s the problem. Your strength is already high, so if you suddenly show us to them, the world will go crazy.
“This is probably why even Evelyn chooses to pair up with you. She is the strongest in the group, and her ability is extremely convenient to get away. By having her near you, your safety is guaranteed.
“Still, you shouldn’t let your guard down. You have to master this power as soon as possible. This way, you don’t have to summon these guys. Even if you want to summon them, you have to guarantee that your enemies are dead and no one is alive to tell the tale.
“At most, I’m probably the only one who can stay beside you because of my shapeshifting ability.
“On the other hand, if you learn this new ability, you might be able to fuse before the summoning is done, which could hide their true identities.
“If possible, we will cooperate as much as possible. If the fusion also depends on the familiars, it will be better.”
Nathan nodded in agreement. “Well, I have asked Team Academics to study this power even if they have to storm inside a library. Bella will record everything and report it to us.”
“That’s good then. Although we don’t know how we will proceed without knowing the extent of the fusion, as long as Master keeps it in mind, I believe we can overcome any challenge.”
“I can’t guarantee smooth sailing, but the adventure should be quite exciting. I’m looking forward to this new continent.” Nathan nodded. “Also, stop these two guys. I want to sleep.”
Little did Nathan know, the continent was already on high alert, not because they knew he was coming, but because of Cthulhu. The moment Cthulhu awakened, his presence could be felt not just on their continent, but also on Erendtall.
