Chapter 452 - 452: Going all out
The man thought Silva was blabbing about, but before he could even make his next move, Silva flashed, appearing right before him with an overhead slash.
This attack stunned the man. His eyes widened, and he tried to back away fast, but the sword was already coming down, so he was forced to block the attack.
The collision shook the air, causing a shockwave that traveled for hundreds of meters. The man was knocked back so far that he was out of range of the city.
He stopped and looked at Silva, shocked that somehow Silva had managed to overpower him in an instant, he, one of the strongest beings of the city who had taken down several abyssal monsters. Yet now he was faced with one, and he was pushed back.
He resolved in his mind that it would be the last time an attack like that would touch him, but like before, he was heavily underestimating the being that stood before him. Silva was no normal being.
Silva flapped his wings and shot forward. His speed was almost instantaneous, he covered the entire distance in a moment.
The Ice Angel looked in shock. He attacked immediately, but the staff only hit the afterimage of Silva. Silva popped up behind him and then sent a powerful kick to his back.
To Silva’s shock, the wings on the angel’s back blocked the kick and pushed Silva back, like some sort of automatic defense mechanism or something. Silva was a bit stunned when he saw it, but it wasn’t anything for him to be worried about.
The Ice Angel, on the other hand, realized that Silva wasn’t someone he could toy around with, and so he began to take the battle seriously. He pointed the staff at Silva and then spoke.
“To think I would need to go all out against a being like you. Tsk, I’ll make sure your death is painful,” he said.
In that moment, it was as if a chain had shattered in his heart, and when it did, his energy grew, rising like an erupting volcano. It froze the air around him, dropping the temperature hundreds of times lower than it already was.
Silva took a breath, and cold fog came out. He looked at the Ice Angel, his eyes glowing blue. He also noticed something, all the other ice angels had put space between them, a lot of space.
Seeing this, Silva knew that this time was finally serious. He looked at the Ice Angel, a smile on his face. “Seems you are ready to take this seriously. That would be your best course of action, but you will still die regardless, it doesn’t matter,” Silva said. Flames erupted around his body, black flames that burned the air all around.
“I have fought beings that shake the heavens and quarreled against order itself. You are nothing.” As the last word left his mouth, the flames increased and then shifted to form five tail-like shapes behind him, each reaching a hundred meters high into the sky.
He looked at the Ice Angel, and then all five tails shot forward at the same time. The Ice Angel reacted with a sweep of his staff, creating a massive blizzard—a storm of ice that moved like a wave and slammed into the flames. The explosion was massive; the flames were knocked back and reduced in size.
But it only lasted a second. They returned and attacked again. The Ice Angel wasn’t capable of summoning another storm like that in an instant, so he took to the skies, flying high.
He dodged the flames as best as he could, the heat slowing him down, but he pushed through. The flame tails began twisting together, they formed a massive tail of flames that swung, slamming into the Ice Angel and sending him right into the ground hard.
He shattered the ice and fell into the lake; the cold water clung to his skin as the lake froze back. But Silva didn’t let up. He used all five tails and stabbed into the water, but when his flames entered the water, they were extinguished.
This stunned him. Never had he seen his flames get put out, and right before his eyes, his flames were gone. He couldn’t believe it.
While he was in shock, the Ice Angel blasted out of the ice, with a massive flexible trail of ice following behind. It moved like a whip and attacked Silva, but his flames blocked the attack with ease.
The Ice Angel frowned and then raised his hands into the air. Hundreds, no, thousands, of ice spikes, the size of a human body, formed in the air. The entire sky was covered in them.
The angel hurled them all at Silva. Silva looked at the attacks coming. Tanking this would be possible, but his scales would take heavy damage, and he didn’t want to use any more skills beyond his flames, so he used the flame tails to create a dome around him.
The attacks came pouring down, slamming into the flames, each one causing a ripple. With the continuous impact, the flames started to give way, forced open by the pressure. Some began entering inside.
The Ice Angel watched, happy that his attack got through. His breathing was heavy, and his hands trembled slightly, showing that he had gone all out against Silva.
“Your soul can return to where it came from, you vile creature,” he said as the attacks came to an end. The flame shield was gone, and all that could be seen was ice exploding as they made impact.
“Are you writing me off as dead already? How disrespectful.” Silva’s voice cut through the icy fog. The Ice Angel turned, stunned and shocked. Did he hear that, or was he imagining it? There was no way someone could survive an attack of that level.
But as the fog cleared, he saw Silva flying there, completely unharmed and with a smile on his face.
