Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder

Chapter 83: Draw

Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Draw

After Jiang Lusheng sent over the contact, Feng He quickly added the person.

The shooting class ended amidst the lively chatter, and the remaining two hours were dedicated to 1v1 duels.

Everyone knew Lin Jingjing’s strength, so they all avoided her during the 1v1 matchups.

In the end, only one boy and Lin Jingjing were left. The boy looked thin and frail.

He was even skinnier and smaller than Shi Feng.

He stood rooted to the spot, his gaze on Lin Jingjing, a timid expression on his face.

"Sister Lin..." He took two steps forward, looked at Lin Jingjing, and called out softly, "I want to forfeit..."

Seeing him like this, Lin Jingjing smiled and asked, "Why forfeit?"

"You’re too strong," the boy answered. "And my spiritual power is only Grade B."

’Grade B? That’s really strong. And here I am, a Grade F.’

Lin Jingjing smiled. "Don’t be afraid. Just have one match with me." Her voice was gentle, and the faint smile on her face made her seem even kinder.

The boy looked at Lin Jingjing, and his cheeks flushed slightly.

"Okay..." His voice was even quieter.

"What’s your name?" Seeing him act this way, Lin Jingjing was suddenly reminded of when she first met Shi Feng. He had been introverted and spoke very softly, too.

Whenever he ran into a problem he couldn’t solve, he would just cry, completely lacking any machismo.

He couldn’t carry anything heavy or do any hard labor, which had annoyed the rest of them to no end.

But Shi Feng could also be very brave. Whenever they got into a fight, he would be scared to death, but he’d still charge in and get into a scuffle for their sake.

Although most of the time, he was the one getting beaten up.

Back then, Shi Feng was like a little shadow, quietly following behind them—nothing like the cheerful person he was now.

"Lan Guang," the boy replied.

’Lan Guang. Not a bad name.’

"Mm, I’m looking forward to our duel," Lin Jingjing said with a smile.

Gu Kaiwen, who was nearby, saw her talking to the young boy and craned his neck to look. "Yo, if it isn’t Lan Guang."

"You know each other?" Lin Jingjing asked.

Gu Kaiwen replied, "I borrowed some body wash from him in the bathhouse once."

"Later, Lan Guang even gave me a whole bottle to use."

Ah, so that was it.

"You’re fighting him?" Gu Kaiwen asked, glancing between the two of them.

"Yep."

"Then don’t be too rough on him," Gu Kaiwen advised. "He’s my friend, after all."

Lin Jingjing was exasperated. ’It’s not like I’d beat someone to an inch of their life, even if he wasn’t your friend.’

She had even gone easy on Bei He.

"I’m not that violent, am I?" Lin Jingjing said with a laugh.

But who was it that had once pinned someone to the ground, punching them again and again, refusing to let up even after knocking them unconscious?

During shooting practice, she wouldn’t stop until she’d emptied her entire clip.

The matches on the field had begun. Everyone sat and watched as one round followed another. The first of their group of five to compete was Shi Feng.

Shi Feng’s opponent was a girl. Standing opposite him, she started talking tough. "I won’t be holding back. If you can’t take it, you can choose to surrender."

Shi Feng chuckled but didn’t say anything. Honestly, he would rather just surrender right now; he didn’t like fighting at all.

But surrendering right away would be incredibly embarrassing, so in the end, Shi Feng had no choice but to fight.

"Alright," Shi Feng replied.

The girl took her stance and charged. Shi Feng, assuming she was strong, focused completely as she rushed toward him.

The two exchanged blows, move for move. It was a back-and-forth battle, with neither gaining the upper hand.

Shi Feng blocked a punch aimed at his face. His arm went a little numb from the impact, but compared to fighting Lin Jingjing, this was nothing at all.

’I thought she’d be really strong, but after a few exchanges, I see she’s just so-so.’

After blocking another one of her attacks, Shi Feng stopped defending passively and slowly began to go on the offensive.

Shi Feng was the most underestimated of the five. He was always calling himself "just a pretty face," and with his baby face, everyone actually believed him.

Everyone assumed Shi Feng would lose this duel. After all, his opponent had Grade A spiritual power.

Hua Wan also trained very hard every day. If others ran one lap, she would run two. Many of the people present were no match for her.

No one expected that she would be locked in such a back-and-forth struggle with a baby-faced boy today.

The probing phase of their fight ended, and they both slowly started to pick up the pace.

The atmosphere slowly heated up, with many of the girls cheering for Hua Wan.

Hearing people cheering for the opponent, Feng He and Gu Kaiwen weren’t about to be outdone. They stood up, cupped their hands around their mouths, and yelled, "Shi Feng, let’s go!"

"Go kick her ass!"

"If you can’t beat her, you’re doing fifty extra push-ups tonight!"

"Go, Shi Feng!"

Lin Jingjing, sitting nearby, listened to their shouting. After a moment’s thought, she took a second-hand megaphone out of her Space Ring and handed it over. "Use this."

Feng He’s eyes lit up when she saw the megaphone held out to her. She took it, immediately switched it on, and yelled, "Xiao Shi, let’s go!"

"Beat her, and we’ll eat cake tonight!"

"I’ll make it for you myself!"

Shi Feng hurriedly dodged Hua Wan’s sweeping kick. Hearing Feng He’s words from the stands, he looked back, gave her the middle finger, and retorted, "You have to make it for me even if I don’t win!"

The moment he finished yelling, Hua Wan’s fist arrived. She landed a punch on Shi Feng’s abdomen.

Shi Feng blocked it with both hands, but the force sent him staggering back several steps.

It was clearly a powerful punch.

"She’s really strong," Shi Feng grumbled, shaking his hands.

Seeing him act like this, Hua Wan felt a surge of anger. ’Is this man even taking this match seriously?’

With that thought, Hua Wan raised her fist and threw another quick punch, but Shi Feng managed to dodge it, albeit a bit clumsily.

"Are you even fighting me seriously?" Hua Wan asked as she continued her assault.

Shi Feng dodged clumsily, retorting, "How am I not being serious? If I weren’t being serious, I would have surrendered already."

"You’re slandering me." After speaking, he lifted a leg, took a step to the side, and twisted his body to dodge a kick from Hua Wan.

"Then how do you have time to talk back to people in the crowd?" Hua Wan said, unconvinced.

’It’s called multitasking. Besides, the five of us used to do this kind of thing all the time.’

"There’s no explaining it to you." Shi Feng gave up trying to talk. The two of them continued to trade blows, and even after five minutes, no winner had emerged.

Finally, Jiang Lusheng, who couldn’t watch any longer, blew his whistle. "Time’s up! It’s a draw!"

Hearing Jiang Lusheng announce the result, the crowd looked disappointed. "How is it a draw? I thought Hua Wan would win."

"Isn’t that Shi Feng guy supposed to be just a pretty face? How are his skills so good?"

"He says he’s just a pretty face, and you actually believed him?"

"Exactly. He hangs out with Sister Lin. Did you really think he’d be weak?"

After the match was called, Hua Wan looked at Shi Feng. "Next time, it won’t be a draw," she said, before walking off the stage.
