Chapter 75: Won
Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Won
"I thought you were supposed to be so tough, but it looks like this is all you’ve got." Corey taunted, watching Mo Xuan grimace and rub his waist on the other side.
Mo Xuan was speechless. ’I’m a man of flesh and blood. Did he think I wouldn’t react after getting hit by that hammer?’
Mo Xuan rubbed his side a few more times until the pain subsided, then adopted a fighting stance.
Seeing that Mo Xuan was ready, Corey immediately charged forward, hammer in hand.
Feng He clutched Lin Jingjing’s hand, her face and voice filled with worry. "Can... can he win?"
Lin Jingjing looked at her worried expression and patted her on the head reassuringly. "Mo Xuan isn’t as weak as you think."
"You have to believe in him."
On the tournament grounds, Mo Xuan saw Corey rushing toward him and charged forward himself.
Spotting the crimson hammer, Mo Xuan instantly shed his jacket, lunged forward to wrap it around the weapon, and aimed a kick straight at Corey.
Corey dodged, but Mo Xuan immediately twisted the jacket, yanking the hammer right out of his grasp with a sharp tug.
Mo Xuan hefted the hammer. It was pretty heavy. After testing its weight, he looked at Corey and grinned. "I’m returning this hammer to you."
With that, he raised the hammer high and brought it crashing down toward Corey’s face.
The blow sent Corey flying straight into the protective barrier.
Mo Xuan dashed forward in a single bound, closing the distance instantly. He was just about to smash the hammer down on him again.
Before the hammer could fall, Corey dissipated the weapon he had condensed from his spiritual power.
With the hammer gone, Mo Xuan simply clenched his fists and began raining punches down on Corey’s face.
Corey’s handsome face was now black and blue from Mo Xuan’s assault, a truly miserable sight.
Many people were watching this match, and seeing this scene, they couldn’t help but erupt in cheers.
"Yeah!"
"Beat his ass! That’ll teach him to be arrogant!"
"So this is an S-Class? Big deal! He’s still getting his face ground into the dirt by a Grade D!"
"Go on, crush them!"
"I declare, from now on, you’re my idol!"
"My hero, beat him to a pulp!"
The ones cheering for him were all people with low Spiritual Power Levels who had always been bullied.
They had endured this for a long time, and seeing this scene now brought them immense satisfaction.
The girl with Cyril listened to the cheers and scoffed. She then glanced at him and taunted, "Your friend isn’t very strong, is he?"
Cyril watched Corey getting beaten, a look of disgust on his face. He sneered in response, "Hah, just a lackey."
Corey curled up on the ground, protecting himself. He then focused his energy and condensed a shield of spiritual power around his body.
Mo Xuan looked at the faintly glowing red shield, stood up straight, and fixed his gaze on him.
’Jiang Lusheng’s words came to mind: ’To use spiritual power, you must be completely focused, single-minded.’’
’Only then can you command your spiritual power.’
Mo Xuan glanced down at his own scraped knuckles and let out a chuckle.
Lately, his physical abilities had been growing stronger, and his senses—sight, hearing, and smell—had become increasingly sharp.
’This must mean my spiritual power is improving. I should be able to use this so-called spiritual power, too.’
With that thought, Mo Xuan focused completely, his mind filled with a single desire: to create countless swords and blades. He had to break the shield in front of him.
As Mo Xuan focused on this, numerous swords and blades slowly began to materialize behind him.
In that moment, everyone in the audience was stunned.
’Isn’t... isn’t he a Grade D?!’
How could his spiritual power condense so many swords and blades?
"Is he an S-Class, too?"
"That can’t be right. He’s supposed to be a Grade D. How could a good-for-nothing like him condense weapons with spiritual power?"
"Did he cheat?"
"Did this loser get promoted?"
The people who had been looking at Mo Xuan with adoration were instantly angered by these comments.
Someone shot back, "Cheat your ass! Anyone stronger than you must be cheating, is that it? We haven’t even accused *you* of cheating yet!"
With one person speaking up, many more voices immediately joined in to object.
There were men and women among them, but without exception, they were all defending Mo Xuan on the field.
"Exactly! If you’re going to make an accusation, show your proof! Without proof, you’re just spreading rumors!"
"Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you have Advanced spiritual power. An S-Class is still getting his face ground into the dirt by a Grade D, isn’t he?"
"Yeah, what a disgrace!"
"Show us the proof!"
Being contradicted by so many people in public, these self-proclaimed elites couldn’t keep a straight face.
Some of the more hot-tempered ones, who had always looked down on the weak, also spoke up.
"If it’s not cheating, then what is it? How could a Grade D loser possibly condense swords and blades!"
"He probably used some forbidden drug to boost his spiritual power!"
As the voices grew louder, the crowd slowly split into two factions.
One side defended Mo Xuan, the other questioned him.
The atmosphere on and off the field was tense, giving Jiang Lusheng a major headache.
’Can’t these rich kids just shut up? You need evidence to make an accusation.’
’Accusing someone of cheating without any basis is no different from slander.’
"All of you, shut up and watch the match!" Jiang Lusheng stood up and shouted through a megaphone. His voice was so loud that everyone fell silent.
Once everyone was quiet, Jiang Lusheng shot a sharp glare at the group of rich kids, his voice laced with anger. "If you have an accusation, bring forth your evidence. A single word like ’cheating’ can invalidate all of someone’s hard work."
"Next time you think someone is cheating, find your proof before you start shouting."
After saying his piece, he sat back down. On the field, the two combatants were once again locked in a struggle.
But no matter how you looked at it, Mo Xuan was the one with the upper hand.
Mo Xuan had extensive combat experience; compared to him, Corey was completely out of his league.
The duel ended when Mo Xuan lifted his leg high and kicked Corey to the ground.
Corey lay on the ground, his face swollen like a pig’s head, passed out cold. Mo Xuan stood over him, looking down.
Mo Xuan stood there, battered and bruised, with cuts of all sizes covering his body, blood trickling from the wounds. And yet, the smile on his face was dazzling.
Everyone watching fell silent, their expressions a mix of disbelief, excitement, disgust, and contempt.
The silence was broken by an eruption of noise. "We won!" Many people cheered and jumped for joy. Even though they weren’t the ones who had won, seeing Mo Xuan standing victorious made them incredibly happy.
They were thrilled just to see one of those arrogant, self-important people get a beating.
Feng He looked at the battered Mo Xuan, her heart aching for him.
Mo Xuan stepped off the tournament field and walked over to his friends. Having held on for so long, he collapsed directly onto Gu Kaiwen.
He looked at the four of them and cried out in a very weak voice, "Hurts..."
