Chapter 66: Grade F Spiritual Power

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Grade F Spiritual Power

Beisang pulled a bottle of green potion from her Space Ring and placed it in front of her. "A spray will make it feel better."

"Thanks." Lin Jingjing took it and immediately began spraying it liberally on her wound. The flowing blood stopped at once.

Lin Jingjing’s eyes widened when she saw how quickly the potion took effect.

Not only that, but the wound was also slowly healing.

"Chief, this medicine of yours is amazing," Lin Jingjing said with a smile. Her gaze then shifted to the other woman, her smile growing wider. "Chief Bei, how about you let me keep this bottle?"

Beisang, who was fiddling with an instrument, didn’t even look up. "Suit yourself," she said.

"Thaaanks—" As Lin Jingjing said this, she was already stashing the potion into her Space Ring.

Once the instrument was set up, Beisang stared intently at it.

Lin Jingjing watched as well, and even Aidan, standing beside them, stared at the device.

Under the gazes of all three, the instrument began to whir to life.

A red progress bar was slowly inching forward. Lin Jingjing had no idea what was happening, but since Chief Bei looked so serious, she just kept watching.

When the progress bar was halfway, Lin Jingjing couldn’t help but ask, "What’s this for?"

"A level assessment," Aidan answered from beside her.

"Why are you assessing my level? I’ve always been a Grade D ability user," Lin Jingjing asked, confused.

Hearing this, Aidan turned to look at her. Seeing her dead-serious expression, he finally just consoled himself. ’This girl... she must be humblebragging.’

After reassuring himself, Aidan explained, "The spiritual power you unleashed in the cafeteria was nothing like what a Grade D Mental Ability User should be capable of."

Lin Jingjing giggled and waved her hands dismissively. "Oh, you’re giving me way too much credit."

"I’ll be lucky if my rank doesn’t drop."

Just as she finished speaking, the testing device let out a "DING," signaling it was done.

They both immediately turned their gazes back to the instrument, their faces full of anticipation.

"Chief Bei, quick! What’s my level now?" Lin Jingjing called out excitedly.

Beisang stared at the words displayed before her. A crack appeared on her usually cold expression, and her eyes widened. She reread it several times, unwilling to believe it was real.

Seeing her reaction, Lin Jingjing rubbed her nose, feeling smug. ’She must be stunned by my level.’

She was gloating inwardly, but her face remained neutral. "Did I level up?"

"Is it S-Class or 2S?"

’It has to be S-Class. My buddies are counting on me to look out for them.’

Beisang looked from the words on the screen to Lin Jingjing’s expectant face, finally letting out a long sigh. "See for yourself."

With that, she pushed the instrument in front of her. Full of anticipation, Lin Jingjing took it and looked. An expression of disbelief immediately spread across her face.

Seeing both of them react with such disbelief, Aidan, who was standing nearby, grew curious.

He took a step forward to see, and he too wore an expression of disbelief.

"No way!" Aidan yelled. "How could this be!"

Lin Jingjing wiped her face with her hand, then complained resentfully, "Seriously? My rank actually dropped?"

"I’m Grade F now," Lin Jingjing wailed. "Grade D was already the lowest! I didn’t even know Grade F existed."

"This is ridiculous!" Lin Jingjing felt awful. ’I shouldn’t have gotten tested if I’d known this would happen.’

’I’m a complete failure.’

’In my past life, I, Lin Jingjing, was number one in everything. In this life, I’m dead last.’

’Great. Just great. Everything’s completely backward.’

"My mom’s calling me home for dinner, so I’m gonna go." Unable to take the blow, Lin Jingjing waved a listless hand at them, making up a lame excuse.

Seeing her dejected look, Aidan hurriedly grabbed her hand to comfort her. "Even though you dropped to Grade F, your spiritual power is incredibly strong! Your rank might be lower than before, but your spiritual pressure can overwhelm some Grade B and C users to the point they cough up blood and pass out."

Aidan looked at her with a serious expression as he tried to console her. "You’re the most powerful one."

Lin Jingjing waved her hand dismissively and replied without any energy, "Forget it. You’re just trying to make me feel better."

"I’m just a Grade F loser."

Aidan himself couldn’t believe it was true. He never thought someone’s Spiritual Power Level could actually decrease.

And to think it had dropped to a level not seen in centuries.

"Grade F is fine, too," Beisang chimed in from the side.

Lin Jingjing’s case was indeed strange. For many years, people had only ever been promoted; no one had ever been demoted.

"You don’t have to comfort me," Lin Jingjing said, looking at them with tear-filled eyes. "I can accept it."

Seeing her like this, neither of them knew what else to say.

Beisang nodded. If that was the case, she wouldn’t bother trying to comfort her.

She just opened her mouth and said, "In that case, let’s talk about your punishment."

Lin Jingjing was still wallowing in her sorrow, but her eyes flew wide open when she heard the word "punishment."

"Why do I have to be punished?" Lin Jingjing asked in disbelief, pointing at herself.

"I didn’t do anything!"

Beisang raised an eyebrow. "Your spiritual power injured a lot of people and sent them to the hospital."

"And you say you didn’t do anything?"

"And you slapped that guy into a wall. He was half-dead."

Hearing this, Lin Jingjing scratched her cheek awkwardly and chuckled. "He was just too weak. If he were a bit stronger, he wouldn’t have been slapped into a wall by me."

"Which is why you’re being punished."

Lin Jingjing’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Then how are you going to punish me?"

Beisang smiled. "Fifty lashes."

Fifty lashes. Lin Jingjing’s eyes snapped shut, and she promptly flopped onto the floor, putting on a show. "My head hurts so much. Take me to the hospital."

"You’ll be punished even after you’re healed," Beisang said.

Speechless, Lin Jingjing sat up from the floor and rubbed the bridge of her nose.

’I can’t believe I just got out of the Spiritual World, and now this guy’s gotten me sentenced to fifty lashes.’

"Fine, fine, fine. I accept," Lin Jingjing sighed.

After accepting her fate, Lin Jingjing looked at Aidan and said, "You have to make it up to me."

"I just woke up, and because of you, I’m getting fifty lashes..."

Aidan nodded. "I’ll make it up to you."

Beisang dismissed them. Just as they stepped out of the office, four robots appeared before them.

Lin Jingjing had been through this once before, so upon seeing the robots, she obediently went with them.

Seeing this, Aidan followed along.

"You seem familiar with this process?" Aidan asked, walking beside her.

Lin Jingjing shrugged. "I was punished once before for crashing and leaving a big hole in the mecha maintenance bay."

Leaving a big hole in the mecha maintenance bay...

Hearing about this feat, Aidan was astonished, his face a mask of disbelief. "So you were the one piloting that Mecha and flying recklessly through the sky that time?"

"Yep." Lin Jingjing nodded.

Aidan gave her a thumbs-up. "You’re really something else."
