It felt as though a massive swarm of mutant beasts could rush out and surround them at any moment.

"You can hear that?" Feng He asked, looking at her.

The expressions of the others changed, and they all reached for the guns at their waists.

After walking for five more minutes, their path was blocked by a large iron door.

Howls and the sound of claws scraping against the door came from within.

"Everyone, on your guard," He Luanchuan ordered, raising a hand.

Seeing this, Lin Jingjing struggled down from Gu Kaiwen’s back.

She raised her gun, her eyes fixed on the distant iron door.

The iron door looked thick, but it couldn’t withstand the constant ramming from the mutant beasts inside.

The door was now at its breaking point; one more solid hit would shatter it.

Everyone gripped their guns, their nerves stretched taut.

"ROAR—"

The mutant beasts inside let out a final, great roar, and the iron door burst apart.

The mutant beasts that had been packed behind the door swarmed out.

Cannons boomed and bullets flew. Finally, they deployed attack drones, sending them to deal with the mutant beasts further back in the swarm.

Meanwhile, everything happening here was being recorded and streamed to a control room.

The man in the main seat wore a black mask and a black suit. With his legs crossed, he watched the large screen.

Seeing that the first wave of mutant beasts was nearly wiped out, the man finally spoke. "Release the beasts from Cage 4."

"We can’t let them all get out alive. We have to take out at least half of them."

After speaking, the man stood up and began giving more orders. "Pack up all the important data and experimental materials. Destroy what you can’t take. This place has been discovered."

"Prepare for relocation."

With that, the man turned and walked out. In unison, the staff behind him responded, "Yes, Mr. Ke."

Following his orders, the iron door to Cage 4 slowly creaked open. Nearby staff members saw it, immediately dropped what they were doing, and ran for their lives.

Their only hope of survival was to run.

The area cleared out in an instant. Seeing the open door, the mutant beasts from Cage 4 began to emerge.

They were massive, with even more hideous features. They walked upright, with razor-sharp fangs and incredibly sharp claws.

A single swipe was enough to kill.

One after another, these massive mutant beasts emerged from Cage 4 and headed toward the light.

"The shield won’t last much longer. This space is too confined; we have to find a way out."

"How can you be so sure more dangerous ones are coming?" He Luanchuan asked. "We haven’t even dealt with the ones in front of us. If more show up, it’ll only make things harder."

"Look at the ground," Lin Jingjing said, pointing down at the earth beneath their feet, where small clods of dirt were visibly trembling.

"We’re standing still, and these current beasts are all tall and lanky; they couldn’t possibly be making vibrations this strong."
