Chapter 34: She Doesn’t Want to Die

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: She Doesn’t Want to Die

The white mutant beast, one of its arms shot, clutched its severed limb and let out a wail of agony.

After firing the shot, Lin Jingjing immediately changed her position. Mutant beasts were everywhere. After leaping down from the tree, her gaze fell upon a Single Pilot Mecha not far away.

They were tall and possessed powerful combat capabilities.

Lin Jingjing immediately dashed toward the Single Pilot Mecha at top speed.

She then quickly clambered on top of it.

Holding the high-caliber sniper rifle in one hand, she stared at the white mutant beast in the distance.

The mutant beast noticed Lin Jingjing as well. It felt an intense killing intent radiating from her.

Her dark eyes were locked onto it, as if she wanted to tear the white mutant beast to shreds.

Sensing this thick killing intent, the white mutant beast couldn’t help but take a small step back.

It bared its teeth, its face contorted in rage.

It roared in Lin Jingjing’s direction, and at its command, all the mutant beasts instantly turned their gazes toward her.

With a collective cry, all the mutant beasts charged in Lin Jingjing’s direction.

They completely ignored everyone else.

Even the mutant beasts that had been charging forward now turned and ran toward Lin Jingjing.

Mutant beasts swarmed from all directions. Lin Jingjing sat atop the Single Pilot Mecha, sniper rifle in hand, watching the horde rush toward her.

Lin Jingjing was speechless. ’I’m certainly popular,’ she thought wryly.

"Sister Lin—"

The four of them watched this unfold, their eyes wide with shock.

All the mutant beasts were charging toward Sister Lin’s position!

The Mecha pilots noticed this scene, and every one of them stared, wide-eyed.

They were all attacking that girl!

"Quick, protect her!" He Shian roared over the Mecha channel. The pilots, who had been momentarily stunned, immediately rushed forward.

Seeing a mutant beast’s paw about to slam down on her, Lin Jingjing put away her sniper rifle and immediately leaped off the Single Pilot Mecha.

The mecha was quickly reduced to a pile of scrap metal, but Lin Jingjing didn’t stay idle.

Focusing intently, she used her agile body to swiftly dodge the mutant beasts’ claws.

But she couldn’t dodge them all. As she dealt with one in front, another mutant beast leaped up behind her and swiped down with its paw.

Lin Jingjing failed to dodge in time and was sent flying. The sharp claws left three deep gashes across her abdomen.

She was thrown several meters, finally landing at the feet of another mecha.

Lin Jingjing clutched her abdomen and coughed up a large mouthful of blood. She was on the verge of death, moments away from dying on the battlefield.

Even in her state, the mutant beasts had no intention of letting her go.

Every last one of them ran in her direction.

Lin Jingjing sat slumped on the ground, clutching her stomach as she stared up at the pitch-black night sky.

A sense of release suddenly washed over Lin Jingjing. The consequence of her bravado was a path to certain death.

She had been too confident.

She watched the mutant beasts charge toward her, their gaping, bloody maws ready to devour her at any moment.

Lin Jingjing paid them no mind. Instead, her gaze shifted to the four figures running toward her in the distance.

’I can’t accept this.’

’I don’t want to be separated from them at all.’

Maybe it was because she was about to die, but even though they were so far away, Lin Jingjing could clearly see the faces of all four.

She saw the worried expressions on their faces. Tears were streaming down the faces of both Feng He and Shi Feng.

Lin Jingjing, who had already given up on surviving, was suddenly filled with an intense unwillingness to accept her fate.

’I don’t want to die—’

’I still want to be with them. I still have to protect them.’

Watching the mutant beast that was about to reach her, Lin Jingjing suddenly screamed, "Get the hell away from me!"

Lin Jingjing’s furious roar caused the mutant beasts about to touch her to instantly explode into a bloody mist. After she screamed, a white barrier suddenly materialized around her body.

Looking at the barrier surrounding her, Lin Jingjing let out a sigh of relief.

Her face was deathly pale from excessive blood loss.

She touched her abdomen and found that the wounds had shrunk significantly.

Lin Jingjing’s eyes widened in shock. Just moments ago when she’d touched them, the wounds had been large enough to require stitches.

Now they were smaller.

’Why is this happening?’

Beisang watched a mutant beast pound against the protective barrier. She exited her Mecha and then stepped into mid-air.

Using her ability to manifest her spiritual power, she descended from the sky step by step as if walking down a staircase.

At some point, a sword had appeared in her hand. Its entire body was silver, and it looked incredibly sharp under the lights.

The immense pressure of a 2S-level user radiated from her, instantly bearing down on all the mutant beasts.

Her gaze locked onto the white mutant beast, and then she dashed toward it.

The white mutant beast felt that killing intent once more and hurriedly roared at the sky.

All the mutant beasts changed direction again, charging toward Beisang.

But Beisang didn’t spare them a single glance. Her expression was as cold as frost, like an iceberg.

She simply spoke softly, "Die."

It was a quiet word, yet her voice radiated endless killing intent.

The spiritual power she had released now coalesced into countless sharp daggers, which then shot fiercely toward the mutant beasts.

Many of the mutant beasts died on the spot.

Beisang charged up to the wall of beasts, raised her hand, and swung down viciously. The sharp blade instantly cleaved the mutant beast before her in two.

Blood splattered onto her snow-white military uniform and her fair skin. Her silver hair, too, was stained with blood.

Inhaling the metallic scent of blood that filled the air, Beisang’s blue eyes stared at the mutant beast within the horde, the one with a severed arm.

"It seems that kid was right. You have to die," Beisang said, her voice ice-cold.

A wave of pressure slammed into the mutant beast. Unable to withstand it, the beast immediately vomited a large mouthful of blood.

Beisang raised the sword in her hand and, with a powerful slash, cut off the mutant beast’s head.

With the controller of the entire horde dead, the mutant beasts, which had been in a frenzied state, instantly reverted to their normal selves.

These mutant beasts gathered together, making it convenient for the soldiers to kill them.

Countless bombs and bullets were fired at the mutant beasts.

No longer under control, the mutant beasts immediately scattered and fled in all directions.

After killing the white mutant beast, Beisang’s body could no longer take the strain, and she suddenly coughed up a large mouthful of blood.

Her body began to sway precariously. She forced herself to stay upright as she slowly retracted her released spiritual power.

He Shian arrived at her side just then and reached out to support her. He saw that her once-silver hair had now turned white, and her face was deathly pale.

He immediately panicked. "Chief Bei!"

"You—"

Beisang looked up to stop him, then shook her head. "I’m fine."

"It’s just spiritual power depletion."

"I’ll be fine after a period of rest," Beisang said, her face ashen.

"But you could die!" He Shian said worriedly.
