Chapter 1852: Life Goes On
Chapter 1852: Life Goes On

As Aquarina nodded confidently, she rejoined the celebrations with her friends and the rest of the village, enjoying the festivities together—dancing, eating, laughing, smiling, and letting loose. She even tried some light liquor, now that she was an adult and her parents allowed it.
…She hated the flavor and didn’t drink anymore.
Time passed. It had been a couple of days since then, and surprisingly, Aquarina hadn’t stopped training. Instead of the intense routines of fighting and hunting, she had chosen a more relaxed approach after completing the inheritance.
In her final days before leaving, she spent most of her time at the Oasis, where she and her friends learned Meditation Techniques with Agualinda and her mother, Aguarapida. These techniques were new to the group—not focused on combat or tempering the body, but on tempering the mind itself.
There were many forms. While basic meditation was pleasant enough, more advanced methods involved learning from Spiritual Meditation Scrolls, which contained magical and spiritual runes. Upon reading them, the user would gain a small realization, then meditate on it, feeling connected to the element they had chosen.
Aquarina began with the Spiritual Meditation Scroll of Ice and Water, specifically “The Calm Oasis Mind,” which she hoped to master in order to control her bad temper.
Although her friends insisted she had changed a lot and wasn’t like she used to be, Aquarina still feared she could return to that former self if she ever drifted away from them. The goal was to change completely—not just warm up to a few people and be kind only to them. With Agualinda and Aguarapida’s guidance, Aquarina began tempering her mind.
She sat cross-legged before the Oasis waters. With the sounds of the jungle behind her and the calm ripples in front, she slowly began to feel her mind… melting.
Melting into liquid—a liquid that flowed through an endless, arid desert. She became the water of this barren place, creating life with every droplet of herself.
But as more life came, more of her own self was consumed. Slowly, as she gave life, she began to disappear… aridness encompassed her, and Aquarina felt pain and exhaustion.
Yet she continued meditating. Eventually, rain came—refreshing and cold. The arid lands gave birth to new life, and the children she had created were joyful.
The world they shaped became part of her. The desert bloomed with greenery, and it became easier for her to exist.
Just like a river. Just like an oasis. Just like water…
Until now, Aquarina had embodied the rougher side of water—the raging, storming force seen in tsunamis and other catastrophes.
But now, she was learning the other side. The calm and tranquil nature of water, the kind Agua and her mother had mastered. Like rivers and lakes… like rain and ponds… surrounded by life, she was slowly learning to temper her mind, to place it in a “nice place,” even gaining enlightenment on the Path of Nature through this teaching.
After meditating for four whole days—without moving, eating, or doing anything else—Aquarina opened her eyes.
In that meditation, she had forgotten her entire being: her body, her soul, even her mind. She had become water.
When she finally woke, she felt calm, composed, realized…
Though it was still just the Beginning Stages, Aquarina had achieved what others took years to reach.
“Huh?”
Surrounding her was the “life” she had created by becoming water. Without realizing it, her hair had turned into flowing water, constantly releasing sweet, non-salty droplets.
No one disturbed her. In the end, a small pond had formed around her. She was surrounded by grass, small trees, frogs, insects, and even fish swimming in her waters.
Small birds nested in the thick patches of grass growing through her hair…
It was magical and amusing. She didn’t feel disgusted—she loved it. Every single little thing. Even the bugs.
“Thank you for being there with me… I have to go now. Take care.”
She slowly stood up. The pond and its creatures glanced at Aquarina one last time. Each little being released bits of green light, which her body absorbed.
Small runes were inscribed into her Magic Circle—not just of Ice and Water, but also of Swamp and Lake—representing a fusion of Earth, Water, and Nature.
“Congratulations, Aquarina! We are very proud of you,” Agualinda greeted her after she took a warm shower and enjoyed a delicious breakfast made by the chief, her daughter, and her parents.
“I can’t believe you reached the Upper Stage of the Meditation Technique so quickly!” Agua said. “It took me a whole year… what’s your secret?”
“I… don’t know? I just imagined myself being water,” Aquarina giggled. “And then it just worked!”
“Eh? That simple?” Agua groaned, rubbing her chin. “Huh… I guess that’s a genius for you, hehe.”
“Are you ready, Aquarina? We’ll be leaving tomorrow morning for the Blue Mountains, so you’d better say goodbye to your friends,” Nepheline said, serving the food.
“Ah, yes…” Aquarina nodded. “Well, I kind of already did before but… I suppose a last goodbye… although not really goodbye, right Agua? I’ll come back with Sylphy and my friends later.”
“Yeah! I’m looking forward to it with all my heart, Aquarina!” Agua nodded happily.
“We could stay longer if you want,” Shade said. “There’s no hurry.”
“Nah, I’m good… I want to meet Sylphy so badly too!” Aquarina cried.
After her parents offered Aquarina to stay for longer, she ended up rejecting the offer, saying she wanted nothing but to meet Sylphy again.
“It’s alright, I am happy she’ll finally meet with her beloved,” Agua smiled cutely. “You’re married right?”
“I-I… I mean we did the whole ritual for my tribe so technically yes!” Aquarina nodded happily. “But not in Sylphy’s tribe… we would have to do a whole wedding thing, elves do it differently.”
“Oooh, that’s so nice though! I’m glad you’ll go meet your wife!” Agua smiled.
“Hahaha… wife, huh? Heh…” Aquarina couldn’t help but giggle while blushing as she heard someone calling Sylphy her “wife”, it just made her so happy. “Yeah… I miss my cute wife… Ah! Right, what about you and Quetzal?”
